    Any advance on how to make the tofu pudding thicker? I follow this same exact recipe, but I'm getting feedback from my friends and family that it's too watery. Maybe I didn't give the tofu mix a stir after pouring the hot soymilk into the GDL mixture... Maybe my soymilk needs less water in it... More cornstarch? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    I completely missed the part in the written recipe where the gdl is supposed to be set aside from the corn starch+water mixture until ready to put at the bottom of the mold. So I guess it's never going to set and I'll have to use it for some sort of soup or curry not to waste whoops.

    Hi Trang! Greetings from Canada,
    I followed your recipe , bought the gdl using the link you provided, used store bought unsweetened soy milk but it didn't set. I added more gdl on my next attempt but it turned sour. Are you coming up with a recipe using gelatin or agar-agar? Thanks and you are doing a great job overall.

    • @1987sandiego1st
      @1987sandiego1st 5 років тому +1

      I followed the recipe to the t as well with store bought soy milk. Same brand. It didn't set as well. The syrup came out perfectly, however. What would you advise the change should be? A little note; I had 3 cups of soy milk available and reduced measurements by half. No other changes were made.

    • @RunAwayRice
      @RunAwayRice  5 років тому

      Hi Linh, that's really strange that you too were also unsuccessful with the store bought soy milk. The reason the pudding would not set up is if the soy milk is diluted by too much water.

    • @uchibauki2515
      @uchibauki2515 5 років тому

      I tried the gelatin with soy milk organic unsweetened! You have to sprinkles on small amounts of water first about 1 and half teaspoon before pour the milk , It’s successful but too bad because I used gelatin so the pudding have to be keep in the refrigerator just like making jello🙁 cold 🥶

  • @yimwapaul7196
    @yimwapaul7196 5 років тому

    Hi, I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I tried making this 4 times, I made soy fresh soy milk each time but after the 1st 3 times with mine not setting well at all, I realised I didn't boiled the milk enough when making soy milk since I've only bring the raw milk to a small boil and then throw it into the gypsum mixture rather than actually boiling it for 20 mins. So my 4th time, I made the soy milk just like your video and it came out a little better, it set but very bubbly and not smooth at all, I followed your instructions to the T, pouring from at least 1 foot above, using strainer etc, please help me figure it out, I love tofu fa and would love to to master this with non GMO soy beans. What you think I'm doing wrong? Do you think my milk was too hot when pouring? I pour it as soon as I made the milk after switching off the stove, should I wait for it to cool down a little?

    • @RunAwayRice
      @RunAwayRice  5 років тому

      Hi friend, I am sorry to hear you're having trouble with the recipe. The fresh soy milk should be on the thicker side so I hope you didn't dilute it with too much water. That may be causing the pudding to not set. Also, I don't use gypsum in my recipe but GDL. How much gypsum and soy milk are you using?

      From my understanding and what I have read online, you might have used too much GDL. It is acidic so it can make things sour. Most likely also causing the texture issues.
