Sydney's Story VNPC Turn the Page Project Round 3

Sydney's story, as told through the Virginia Neonatal Perinatal Collaborative's Turn the Page Project. Sydney has consented to sharing her story with the VNPC and has given permission for the VNPC to share her story across VNPC platforms. All storytellers participating in the Turn the Page Project own their stories and can withdraw consent for sharing at any time.
The Turn the Page project is a digital storytelling workshop facilitated by StoryCollab. This project seeks to amplify the voices of birthing people with stories of navigating the prenatal, labor, and postpartum stages in Virginia’s maternal health system. We seek to give platforms to those with stories in which a birthing person overcame challenges or had someone go above and beyond to help them in their prenatal, perinatal, and/or postpartum journeys. Our vision is that these narratives lead by example and help improve maternal care and health outcomes in Virginia. This project seeks to amplify a diverse range of voices of those with lived experiences of pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period as a Virginia resident. Sydney's story is from the 3rd workshop we conducted.
