I have no taste, so no worries. My point is that this style of singing isn't very conventional and might end up limiting someone as a performer in the long run. (In other words, learn some semi-accurate covers even if you never play them for an audience, it'll inform a wider musical perspective)@@Xilerate1

I've been subscribed to radio wv for quite awhile and I've seen many really great artists...Oliver Anthony is fine, but, Jake is my second favorite I've found there...my favorite, by the way, is Nolan Taylor. His song 68 is the best the channel has ever offered, imo...I just adore that song. I never would have found either if not for radio wv...

Know Jake personally. He is from my hometown in Virginia. Great humble kid. Already been to the Grand Ole Opery. And just as nice and approachable as ever. Hes got mediocre fame. I mean hes known world wide. But soft spoken and awkward and genuine still. We're proud of him

oh wow! He's so good. His sound reminds me some of Colter Wall. His early age emotional connection reminds me of Angelina Jordan. And to be compared to Louis Armstrong at such a young age!! I wonder if he even knows yet how bid that compliment is!!! Thank you for showing off this rising talent to us.

Asking for the community here in my town: Karen Carpenter... I have a few friends (well, more like several) who are transgender, MTF at that, who want to work on their voice enough to sing like Karen Carpenter since her voice is likely something they could reach and sing in regularly with relative ease. I do not have what I need to contribute to Patreon for anyone, and I hate that, but I would indeed if it could just get this one question answered. I know you are a generous person but still do need to get paid, and I get that. At the same time, I would love to hear more about this and if you work with transgender people at all, or ever have.
    Thanks for reading this!

He sounds great, but it almost seemed lip-synched at first. You'd expect that voice coming out of someone who looks like me, not someone who looks like him. He's a bit derivative, but that's totally understandable for his age. I can't wait to hear him in 10-1 years, when he's really found his sound.

Why do young musicians go straight to 'creating' their own thing instead of learning how to properly perform covers first? This guy will never be useful in a band setting if he keeps this up. I understand that some performers want to lean into their own originality, but that mentality is ultimately limiting in terms of stylistic breadth.
