Shamsur Rahman Faruqi in conversation with Baran Farooqui.
Jashn-e-Rekhta, a 2-Day grand Urdu Festival celebrated by Rekhta Foundation (www.rekhta.org) on March 14th and 15th at India International Centre, Delhi.
For two mesmeric days, some of the Urdu’s finest poets, authors and artists came together to bring alive Urdu’s lyrical beauty and resonating eloquence through live performances, panel discussions and interactive sessions.

واقعی ان کا علم اور تجزیہ کا طریقہ بہت عمدہ، قابل صد ستائش ہے
Such a privilege to listen to Farooqui sahab. Can listen to hours on end to him, he is so mesmerizing.

I know about Mr. Farooqui saahab from my childhood. He was a noble person. His behavior was lovely for us(when we were children)but bara mam is so strict 🤫
Baran Farooqui wrong person on wrong place
it should be a Person from Urdu Poetry or Critic not who cant speak a plain Urdu sentence without using English words

Bhai, unhi ke wajah se samajh me aaya is lecture mein kuch. Warna to dictionary dictionary karna padta.
She knows urdu very well but she is just translating

Bahut kam waqt tha. Farooqi sahab aur bhi bolna chahte the. Kaash ke Baran chup rah kar Farooqi sahab aur bolne ka mauqa deti.
Arre dusre bhi audience hai yaha jo urdu nhi jante agar Shrimati baran farooqi ji translate nhi karti toh mein bhi samajh nhi pata
I don't understand why Shams ur rehman was being so casual (if not disrespectful) towards Anwar Shaoor. Besides, he stands nowhere against Sir Gopichand Narang not only in terms of knowledge but also in that of genuity and articulation.
In terms of articulation yes gopichand is better but gopichand didn't have the depth of digging deep into poetry to extract ambiguity the way farooqi has his book on mir taqi will show you. Even Noon meem rashid this poet I recently came to discover was so deep and hard to understand many ppl tried to take his poetry head on but didn't succeed on farooqi level

Meri theory ye h ki MA'ANE-AFREENI TAHDARIY-E-MA'ANI se zyada attractive and khubsurat hoti hai.
Ab chuki MA'ANE-AFREENI Ghalib k kalam me payi jati hai aur TAHDARIY-E-MA'ANI Mir k kalam me payi jati h ; Isliye mai samajhta hu GHALIB Mir se zyada great hain.
Ghalib ka andaz-e-bayan falsafiyana hai , Jabki Mir ka andaz-e-bayan sadah hai ; falsafiyana andaz hamesha pur-taseer hota hai ; yhi wajah h ki Ghalib ka kalam Mir se zyada mo-assar hai.

If Urdu poetry can have words from by Tamil, telugu, Persian and arabic, why not English?

Iss khatoon ka stage par hona hi ghalat hai. Urdu shayari ki baat horahi hai aur ye khatoon angrezi padhati hai. Ek jumla nahi bol paarahi baghair angrezi ke.
