Taken from the Governments website re Kidnapping and False Imprisonment, 3.2 False imprisonment is defined as “the unlawful and intentional or reckless restraint of a victim’s freedom of movement from a particular place”.
Yeah... I see how people can read that, but note that it ends with _from_ a particular place. In other words, it is only false imprisonment if you prevent someone from going away at all, not if you just block one direction.
@@jbird4478 It's rarely just one direction, due to the layers of traffic backed up behind the vehicle on the front lines. And even if you CAN turn around, now you're at risk of a head-on. Can't bust through the guardrail either, and if you did, you might crash or drown below. Therefore the False Imprisonment definition fully applies in this case and most.
@@proghead59 No it doesn't. People are free to walk away. False imprisonment is for example when an employer locks his employees in the office until the work is done. 3.2 False imprisonment is defined as “the unlawful and intentional or reckless restraint of a victim’s freedom of movement from a particular place”.
The thing with law is that you can hope or think that it works a certain way, but that is completely irrelevant because it doesn't apply here and you would never convince a judge that it does.
@@jbird4478 in some parts of the world getting stopped by a group of people like this on the road may mean you're about to get either robbed, murdered, or kidnapped. You should always assume the worst in the situation like this and treat it like your life is on the line. These people are not authorities, you do not fully know their intention, it is within your right to continue moving your vehicle at all cost.
@@jbird4478 haha, we got Rumpole of the Bailey telling us how the law operates. LOL.
Imagine trying to prevent the use of oil, all the while stopping cars from moving which is causing gas to be wasted for no reason.
The just stop oil movement is disgusting. They only care about their own self entitlement
It’s infuriating just to watch. I can’t even imagine what the drivers felt
I think I would feel very threatened, like "what are they going to do next??"
"This is going straight into the TV" is something often said by people whose knowledge and understanding you can trust implicitly.
I am glad I don’t still drive. I would have a hard time controlling myself.
One day someone will lose control and I won’t blame that person
Same here.
Then we need to get you a driver's license.
Stat!
“It’s dangerous.”
Get out of the f’ing road then.
Society is far too polite for it's own good, sometimes
That’s illegal restriction of people’s freedom, which they have the right to resist, including by not stopping their vehicle
And for a political cause; that turns it into terrorism, by the book.
These are somebody's kids...there are parents out there who utterly failed in raising these people....shame on you.....
The sad thing, one of these people actually has their kid there.
I don't know how many of these videos you have watched but I've seen some where the protesters appear to be about my age: 7+ decades. Pax
A fair point to be sure.....I guess I'm just trying to find some way to rationalize this behaviour to myself.@@rduff1999
We need a website listing all these protests before and during their happening so people who want to protest them can organize a response. This may constitute unlawful detainment, which is actionable in civil court.
Why don’t the authorities act and stop this madness?
Because they are being ordered not to. The government WANTS this. Most of all - they WANT you to get angry. They want you to hurt these cultists. They want VIDEO of it. They want ANY EXCUSE to gain more power. ANY excuse to increase their regulations and rules. ANY reason to take away your ability to move freely.
The government is your enemy. The police are your enemy. Plan accordingly.
they are coward, afraid of losing votes for the next elections if they arrest these eco-lunatics!
To put it simply the British police force is far more overstretched and underfunded than what it is like in Germany or other nations where the police have responded. Its also increasingly politicised and due to that, more divided.
They’re in on it and financing it.
It's not "politically correct".
Back in my day speed bumps didn't talk back! 😮
Please stop! You're killing me from laughing so hard. Pax
The lunacy of these people is amazing.
Ahh a member of the press how bloody important does she think she is.
It's the sun so not very
Watching this video has given me a great idea for a new game. It's called - "speed bump"
If someone is illegally blocking a public highway, road, or street, they are not protestors...they are speed bumps.
I would totally play it!
Absolutely 💯!
Lol Achievement unlocked "You've Been Tangoed". lol
Or "Radiator Mince".
These cretins would infuriate me. Luckily there are no such people where I live. I would probably call the police.
I see the Police are present doing their job as usual!! Keeping the Highways and By-Ways Clear!
On one early protest on the M25 the police made them comfy and offered them water and sandwiches. Female police chief addressing the protesters sitting on the road: “let us know if there’s anything you need”. All on film. If they don’t step up and do their jobs, the people will do it for them, and it won’t be pretty. I’m not saying I’d agree with that, but I think it’s inevitable.
Seriously.. How are they getting away with this??
Schwab/Soros! Any more questions?
I can't believe how patient people are with these clowns
me too but EVERYTHING IS VIDEO TAPED now. Lawyers love that by the way
Sign says no prison ships.
So where are the police to escort these prisoners .
Many ex vets and homeless would like a room on that hotel barge.
Where are the police in a situation like this?
At the station, drinking a nice cup of tea.
At Scampton trying trumped up charges on the brave protesters
Checking ulez cameras
@@heatherbatty Nothing brave about supporting terrorists.
Policing “tweets” and not the streets.
Impeding traffic is a criminal charge. Impeding emergency services is a criminal charge.
You are free to do what you wish, but not free of the consequences of your choices. The politeness and compassion that these people are extracting from everyone against their will is not infinite, it will run out, sooner than later, and things will get ugly.
People trying to stop you on a road, I'd be in fear of my life. They could try to harm you. Don't stop.
If they stop oil it will do a lot more harm to you than those soy boys and cat ladies in the road
@@stephenw2992 yep, it will be complete enslavement.. every single thing you do will be monitored in the electric system they are pushing for.
Just tell the police you saw they were holding a firearm .and you were to scared to stop.
Blocking them should be against the law.
The sheer arrogance of these people makes my blood boil. We are in charge do as we say is their attitude. However they came unstuck as the coach displayed the blueprint on how to deal with them.
People throw themselves in front of cars and then complain about being run over. These people are completely lacking in ethical understanding and yet think they can lecture others.
I do not understand the mindset. They blatantly break traffic laws, endangering not only their own lives but the lives of countless others, but think they have the right to expect drivers to respond to their criminal behaviour within the parameters of the law. It makes no sense, like being surprised when you hit someone and get hit back.
It would make more sense to protest in front of the oil companies where the CEO’s are instead of putting their life and other’s lives at risk, as well as disrupting the workers who don’t make the rules and are just trying to support their families.
@@dorism4697fr like if they really care they would do something different to people who actually control that stuff but I’m convinced it’s a act for the camera
I am sure if a few of us did this outside a police headquarters stopping vehicles for entering and leaving we would be arrested 😡
They are NOT peaceful, pretending to be passive, their actions are clearly agressive by coertion.
Isn't it highly illegal to detain someone or physically stop them from going about their legal business - why are we still pandering to these law-breaking infantile creeps!
This is the one time I'll allow someone to go full on No Country for Old Men mode.
Why isn’t it a criminal charge for the protesters?
It should be, and the Police have several options to choose from, or would have if they were there.
Liberals. That's why.
The government have an agenda, they have told the police to leave them alone.
Do they even have a child with them trying to stop that bus……what kind of parent uses their child as a human shield.😡
The fact that they're stopping the vehicle that likely produces the least amount of contamination per person should tell you enough about their IQ.
Did those traffic kidnappers seriously just yell at other people saying "don't tell others what to do"??? Damn, delusion is too soft a word anymore.
Police and the government have to be complicit. They're doing absolutely nothing to try and stop, or prevent, these events.
It's all part of the conspiracy we are not allowed to believe in...😁
Just keep on moving forward, those idiots will get out of the way!
The person driving the blue car really angers me. He aids and abets this activity by blocking the road.
Hey man, not everyone is willing to catch a charge if something goes wrong. The UK government is on the side of the Leftists here and if one of them got hurt you are in for a hell of a legal battle.
Give this man a raise
It’s about time this was stopped for good.
He's practically saying what literally everyone watching this video is thinking
In my home state a driver cannot be liable for slowly driving through a protest. Now, you can’t target anyone or intentionally try and hurt them, but if they don’t move and get run over then that’s on them.
Ironically we don’t really have protesters blocking the roadways here.
Are you in North Korea ?
@@SunofYorkIn the USA it's considered illegally detaining in most states. Plus most people conceal carry.

For goodness sake- when are our police going to start doing their jobs?

They tried to arrest me for hit and run lol
It was fummy though, I drove through and everyone else behind me followed.

This is harassment and bullying tantamount to leading to carjacking. The driver of the car must have been terrified!
A bus is one of the most environmentally friendly forms of travel, why stop it? Also, they're saying things like "should we let this car go and go for the bus" - it's as if they don't even take themselves seriously.
What's a criminal offence is illegal attempting to detain people on the road.
They need to change the law over there that if your standing the middle of the road protesting and get hit it’s all on you and everyone else standing in the road. All protesters should be charged with reckless endangerment.
If you die... THE END
If you live... you will be charged for , obstruction, false imprisonment, impeding traffic,...
The law already exists, they just aren't enforcing it
These people aren’t getting enough pushback. They have no right to interfere with the right to travel.
for sure. longer jail terms! no probation or 30 days. Like 6 months at least. More if you damage a vehicle
Warning: Wild pack of narcissists on road ahead.
"don't run us over"

These protesters are out of control 😮
I love how you can be certain that each and every person you see here standing in front of vehicles, are all absolutely self-centered and intolerable to be around.
I wouldn't want to have to deal with a single one of them, just from a split second glimpse at their behavior.
Who do they think they are deciding who can and cannot go where they wish?
They're out here trying to strip people's rights away, trying to exert power over them, power that they themselves have ZERO rights to.
That is what you get when you vote for Greens. Imagine if they actually ran the place how bad it would be
