Are they kidding? 40 million people being taxed is going to save the planet? gimme a break!
The vast majority of Canadians receive more money back in carbon tax credits than they pay in tax on this initiative. Does it have its faults, yes, but repeating reactionary BS just helps the Liberals paint anyone opposed to the Carbon Tax as thoughtless reactionaries.

Eventually this is going to collapse, than politicians will say scientists lied to them and scientists will say politicians didn't allow them to tell the truth. And everybody will keep their money.

The richest 1% in Canada pollute more than the bottom 66% combined according to OXFAM Canada. Canada's National Observer found that the richest 10% pollute more than the bottom 50%.
A tax on Carbon where the bottom 80% get back most (if not all) of what they pay in seems like an all around good thing to get the rich to cut back. The problem is without implementing a windfall profits tax on the rich. Many of them just pass on the Carbon tax to the poor and are actually profiting from it.
When you hear one party in Canada claim to be standing up for the common people by axing the tax. They simply are not. They are only interested in saving their super wealthy friends and supporters (on average) about 9 to 12 thousand dollars a year in Carbon pricing. Instead of being angry at the Federal government for the Carbon tax. People's anger should be directed at the wealthy that pollute significantly more than the rest of us... Really.... all together, the libs, NDP, greens, and bloc share well over 66% of the voting population of Canada. The other is split between the cons, ppc and others.
The NDP didn't have to support the libs but they chose to. To give Canadians what they have been asking for a long time. To give, pharamcare, dental care. Even now, some voting reform.
Also, the NDP, didn't have to team up. They, the libs, could of teamed up for the bloc and had even more voting power due to how the seats are.

There's a positive correlation between wealth and carbon footprint: wealthy people and corporations are responsible for disproportionately higher CO2 emissions than middle and low-income individuals and families. Wealthy polluters can and should contribute their fair share. The Liberal's climate action plan puts a price on carbon pollution. 8 out of 10 Canadians get more money back through the Canada carbon rebate than they pay into the system because the big polluters pay the most. As the price of carbon goes up, so do the rebates. Middle & lower income families count on these rebates and work them into their monthly budgets. The rebates are a NET GAIN for middle and lower-income families. If you're not rich, then don't vote for Poilievre's rage-farming Cons because the CPC does not represent our interests, and PP will cancel the rebates. Keep in mind that 'carbon pricing' was originally a Conservative Party idea under Stephen Harper, except that the Cons did not propose a revenue neutral plan like the Liberals have implemented, that also provides rebates for the majority of Canadians. Please don't be fooled by Poilievre's rage-farming and fear-mongering. PP is a political grifter and a con man.
