Best Force Feedback Settings for Fanatec DD1/DD2/CSL DD - Forza Horizon 5

- I've spent a lot of time trying to get Forza Horizon 5 force feedback to feel decent with Fanatec DD1/DD2 and CSL DD wheelbases. I finally think I've got the best settings and driving now feels great. Much easier to drift and drive on dirt!

Thanks for the tips bud! I really appreciate all the work you put into these videos to help out the community.
Finally! Undrivable with wheel till I found these, great thx
Damn homey, that intro is dope!
Thank you!
Good settings for FH5 , the fanatec settings I found work great with most games dirt 2.0 and EA wrc 😊 thanks 👍
Hopefully this is correct because I play wrc and was looking to hit up Forza again.
Thank you so much!!
Turning off dampener was 😮💨👌🏼 with the 5.0nm csl dd I upped the ffb in game to 1.2. I’ll see how it goes with that. Didn’t find any issues so far.
Thanks for the tip, gonna try on my csl dd too
What steering sensitivity should I have
Thanks for the settings! I dont know if I missed it or not but I'm running a DD1 should I leave the torque key In?
Yes 👍🏼
Are you playing on Steam with Steam input or UWP (UNIVERSAL WIN PLAT / MS Store)? I gave up on playing since I never got the GT DD PRO to work.
I’m playing on steam but I’ve gotten it to work just fine on both.
@@AeroVelocehey I gotta question do I gotta have the Xbox Hub to play forza horizon 5 on steam
My CSL DD is set to 1080, and my setting in game are also set to 1080 and yet my wheel won’t even do a full turn before hitting the soft lock. What do I do?
What is your steering wheel rotation set to because mine feels supper weird on 900 but feels but on 2000 the max but it still doesn’t feel as smooth as a normal Logitech would. I’m on the series x as well don’t know if anyone else has this set up or runs into this issue
Wheel rotation??
I tried your setting for csl dd 8Nm and it felt weak from -30 to 30 degree of rotation.
Heres my setting for xboxsx

I did not try the video settings because having a gt dd pro 8nm, I tried this one.
it's just nonsense its parameters are much too strong but too too strong, impossible to play.
hoping to finally be able to find once and for all a great setting on fh5 for my gt dd pro 8nm with my Xbox serie X.
Hello. I can't understand why you don't give me the same options as you, in the advanced controls menu. I put the steering wheel in the controls, but when I go to advanced settings,I have the impression that it gives me the settings for the controller and not for the steering wheel. When I go on the controls you can not directly select the steering wheel
Are you switching the tabs to the steering wheel page?
@@AeroVeloce I didn't know I had to put the steering wheel on yellow. Then he connected. Thank you
Should set wheel rotation to 900 degrees not 1080 as max is 900 in fh5
Yes 900 is fine.
Max is 900 in Forza? Lol. Turning the wheel 270° is as far as it does anything in-game... Hardly 900.
@@Imperatormusic yeah I hardly have to rotate the wheel at all it’s a horrible game on a wheel if I’m honest same as motorsport
My CSL DD is set to 1080, and my setting in game are also set to 1080 and yet my wheel won’t even do a full turn before hitting the soft lock. What do I do?
@@szymonski1905 can’t do anything unfortunately.
Yeah those are good tips but the problem for me was not the settings, it was the wrong SEN, got full control back when I set SEN to 400 (410-420 if using Fomula wheel). Using SEN at 540/900 was a big no! no! on this game, something goes berzerk while cornering. I assume it's the game assists taking hold messing with wheel, even if you set assist OFF, they still there. Try SEN at 400 and you'll see what I mean, so much better.
That’s weird. My wheel doesn’t go bezel with 900. Glad you found a solution that works for you though!
Thanks for the guide. There is one thing though -- my DD1 is not recognized by FH5 unless I switch to PC Compatiblity mode. Firmware is updated. Am I doing something wrong?
It should work in native mode. Have you gone to the settings to choose one of the button map options and save?
my dd2 dont have this all options on my base like yours, and it never active the hi torque mode... (yes i have the key)
What steering wheel are you using? A plastic QR won’t allow high torque mode.
Make sure you turn on advanced tuning on fanatec control panel.
@@AeroVeloce I'm using the WRC steering wheel and McLaren gt2, now that's make sense I need a better
Quick Release. Aren't all steering wheels accepting Hi torque?
@@schmidtflooring5075 WRC wheel can not use high torque mode, no matter what QR is used. McLaren wheel can use high torque mode if used with metal QR.
For whatever reason I am unable to map the steering when selecting custom layout. It doesn't register in game when moving the wheel. I tried compatability mode as well with no luck. Any ideas?
Have you tried using one of the existing layouts and customizing that to start as a custom profile with the existing bindings as a base?
@@AeroVeloce unfortunately the only thing that works like before is pc compatibility mode.
@@ramulus84 so it does work in pc compatibility mode? That should be correct
@@AeroVeloce maybe I misunderstood you and thought that it didn’t need to be in that mode and you could leave in PC mode.
@@ramulus84 If using a CSL DD I believe Compatibility mode is the one that works. I thought the new driver may have fixed that to allow native pc mode from what a friend told me when we were testing his csl dd. But perhaps I was misinformed.
what is that game in your intro?
It was FH5 drifting on one of the mountain roads
FFB Don´t work
If you give me more information I can try and help better 👍
@@AeroVeloce Thank you, I already found the solution, it was to push the button to the third position. (first red, second green, third yellowish white) thanks for your interest.
@@InaKilometrosX1TUBO while in game turn your wheel off and wait a few second.. it work with my moza r5
@@refuse2lose_ceo_ thanks for your answer, in my case with the fanatec csl dd, it only works in the third mode
I just got my first Fanatec wheel today CSL DD and I got 455 drivers and no FFB in horizon 5 I got FFB in other games the crew motorfest, asseto corsa, ATS ,ETS2, beamNG but no horizon 5 so screw them I don't have to play this crap anyway, it's ridiculous.
Hey man if ur still interested in playing forza then click the button on ur wheel base till it turns yellow that should work it helped me
