Ahaahahahaahahaahah I’ve actually lost it “Chinese war whistle”😂
Love your channel bro ❤
Thanks bro 😘
Also known as a wuhan war whistle 🤣
If the owner is interested, I still have Crow Double valve springs and Yella Terra 1.8 roller rockers in my shed that came off my old turbo VR. I never got around to selling them, just remembered I had them. Dropped boost from 19psi to 17psi with the same boost controller duty cycle.
Will let him know cheers mate 👍
Dude needs decent valve springs, s2 float around 13psi, s1 supposedly will go 20 due to factory doubles (I'll find out for sure in a few months when I get mine tuned)
That and drop to at least a 345 gear, 3.9s no good in a street turbo v6, I put my 3.08s back in mine lol should pull like a freight train hahaha.
If this goes mid 11s it gives me confidence mine should go at least high 11s through a t5 ,mines a very similar setup except for a gt3582 ,that looks like an old t66 replica, the 3584 seems to be the go to atm.
Hmmm a factory double spring on s1? Never seen that before even still a spring that old will have lost open and seat pressure so I'd recomened getting a proper spring before hurting anything.
And yep I agree 3.45s are good street gears for a turbo build 3.08s would be even better but I just don't feel the street they would be safe by the time you wind them out.
Keep us posted with how you go on the dyno always love hearing about other people's build and how they are going.
I ran 19psi through my stock engined VR Wagon. Only valve bounced at 6000rpm in 3rd warming the tyres at the dragstrip. Ran 11.7 @119.5mph with a 1.85 60ft when it usually did 1.6s. Theoretically could have run 11.2-11.3 with a better 60ft. Sadly last time I ran it
Very similar to when I had my turbo 700 I went 11.6 with abit more mph and better 60ft.
With a good converter a stock bottom end can go fast but mike Wilson is really the only person I know pushing a stock bottom end buick.
Nice work. I'm currently building a similar setup in a vr did you get rid of the charcoal canister?
Thanks mate, yeah the charcoal canister is long gone
@@stavjetauto thanks for the reply. will do the same and.get the holes in throttle body welded up
how much would turboing a buick 3800 roughly cost? and whats the base kw output to the wheels or crank
Hey mate check out my channel I've got a video that covers it in detail 👍
This a 3.8 Buick ?
Yeah 3800 buick v6
Yep the best one 👌🤣 nah ecos go alright too (they're still a buick btw)
I once built a turbo V6 commy. We found around 13.6 was the limit with a new set of springs.
Supposedly though this had the heads done. It's a challenge tuning a car you never built as your going into the unknown and can only assume.
I did shut the gaps on the spark plugs with a possibility of it being part of the culprit but checking the logs I still believe it was a valve spring issue.
Yeah series 2 u have to do decent valve springs straight up, there limit is around 13-14psi
S1 will go 20 on stock springs being they're factory doubles.
U can use s1 heads on a s2 if budgets tight and as a bonus it blocks the pvc completely as the heads have no holes for it, s1 vent through the inlet manifold whereas s2 vent through the heads into the manifold 👍
That's awesome to know cheers for that bit of info
Hey Champ, do you find it alot more responsive as a street car with those gears?
It looks like alot of fun
Look 3.9s have there place don't get me wrong but 3.45s would be as far as I'd go for any decent turbo build.
As 3.9s will turn the tyres with an na v6
Forgot to ask, what size turbo is on this car?
3582 Chinese turbo
