Thanks for that last answer, which confirms that the Antikythera was a mechanisation of astronomical knowledge of the time. In particular, Jo Marchant's title "Decoding the Heavens" is misleading, rather, the machine encodes the heavens as noted by one of my colleagues. I read your book!
