  • Testing a br6hs plug on the yd100. I love this build she pulls up any hill I can find, more than happy with this build. Has a Af80 rod, 15.5mm thick crank webs with some 8272 marine jb weld in the case transfers but flowed to enter the cylinder transfers. Jb weld is only there to add case pressure because I have such thin crank webs.

      @@DirectCurrent4u Thanks buddy. If you have idle problems change your crank seals out on both sides then apply some RTV gasket maker on top of the seals no one will over see it and it holds very good. A seals is behind your magneto and one behind your small bevel gear

      @@justanothermotorizedbikech5138 I have done that on all my motors. That is one thing You don't see many people do or talk about But it's really important because they like to leak there if they can for sure. I like to use the brown ones seem to last muck longer then the black ones. I am at 7500 ft so jetting is always a little time consuming to get them dialed in. Thanks for the reply my friend! 👍

    Love the smell and sound of 2-stroke in the morning. My 1st three motorcycles over 40 years ago were all Yamaha RD's. This would be awesome on my '73 Schwinn Varsity 10 speed but, I'm thinking might be too heavy for the skinny tire wheels.

    • @justanothermotorizedbikech5138
      @justanothermotorizedbikech5138  10 місяців тому +2

      I agree. The simplicity is just amazing! I’m sure the spokes on the '73 will hold for low power. When you have time up the Honda 50cc in the 1960’s that thing was a screamer on thin wheels and regular bicycle rim brake’s. I say go for it!!

    That bike sounds and runs really good. It doesnt wanna die at idle, like a lot of folks videos. I am just in my research phase, watchin a lot of videos. Lol. Im collecting parts for my first moto build, and probably will not have everything I need until about Spring.🙄 It should be really nice, as long as I put it all together well😬. Ha. -Hey man, YD 100s are one of those 1 piece/non-removable head engines, right?

    • @justanothermotorizedbikech5138
      @justanothermotorizedbikech5138  9 місяців тому +1

      Thank you Marcus I appreciate it. I did a few mods to make it run like this. I sanded the case down 1.5mm then added jbweld in the case transfers (I don’t recommend the jbweld but it does work. Yes the yd100 are single piece but so are some 66cc motors you have to measure the piston if it’s 47mm it’s a regular 66cc, if 50mm piston it’s a yd100

      @justanothermotorizedbikech5138 Thanks for the info. I've been wondering if it's possible to cut the head off of a YD 100, and then bolt a better one onto there!?

    • @justanothermotorizedbikech5138
      @justanothermotorizedbikech5138  9 місяців тому +1

      @@marcusprince3999 yes it very possible but you do change the squish valve which will change how the motor runs, the flow of the mixture when ignited is very important in how a 2 stroke performs. If not right the head and top of piston will become too hot or too cold for the motor to function properly. You want the squish band to be 70% of the bores diameter with a 25 degree roof angle

      This one has a ported exhaust somewhere around 180-190 exhaust, 130 transfers. They are worth it but you can always get a bad motor/kit. They run around 130-$175 per kit just depends where you get them. If you can find the owner on Facebook you can buy directly from the guy who owns them and for cheaper with no issues. The pipe was $90, carb was $40, pilot and main jets
      $25, stand along cdi (not really needed) $40. The case did have some JB weld in the case transfers to add crank case pressure. The jb weld makes the motor draw more from the jets

    I put a 30cc 2 cycle on a 1979 26-inch Schwinn 15-speed. I had to cut some spacers and use longer high-tensile All Thread to mount the motor. I painted it Caterpillar Yellow and gave it mountain bike handlebars, it was really cool looking. I know it got up around 40 mph or a little faster.

      I rode it around for a year and had fun then some rich kid who liked working on things bought it from me. If I build another I think I would choose a bike with bigger tires. That is a lot of extra weight on skinny road bike tires. Get some lights! LOL
