Another thing that is very good about this product, as a pre amp it has bass management, that means if your 2 channel amp has no bass output and no bass management, you can connect your subwoofer to the WIIM and it it can send high pass output over the outs to your amp, effectively giving you bass management on your setup that never had it before. this is great that means you dont have to search for the limited handful of amps that arent AVRs that have bass management. I hope the next gen pushes video out to an AV receiver via HDMI so you can switch the video content (album art, other) to your TV / video monitor. In a perfect world, for me at least, they add the Apple Music, video out, and basically all the video content like lyrics is on the TV / monitor. It is sort of surprising that they are not tapping into visual content ... I have the Wiim Pro and the audio is excellent, but I can't see upgrading for this tiny screen.
If the only caveat is the lack of AirPlay2, then I am good with that. I don't use that any way (or Apple Products in general. The last Apple product I had was an iPod and that left a foul taste in my mouth). I do like that it is packed with features and makes for a great pre-amp with full bass management.
I don’t understand why they are removing airplay two from their recent products. I can’t imagine it cost them that much too implement since it is even found on the mini. I know that many have criticized AirPlay for its compression, see comments above 😊, but it is a convenience solution when you are using Apple products with Apple Music. I currently have an Arylic BP50 connected to a Roku TV for AirPlay music and it works fine but sometimes the audio does have glitches. I have not experienced this with my WiiM mini.
Yeah, I think it came down to further delaying the launch? It would’ve been released many months later if AirPlay support was added. Granted, if it was me, I would’ve delayed the launch. In the long run, it would’ve been more advantageous to wait and have a virtually perfect product. Oh well. I’m sure AirPlay will be supported on the Wiim Ultra Plus. 😁🤞
@@ealanosborne I believe the airplay feature can be added via software update later once it is approved by apple. I don’t think it requires any hardware changes.
I have a Yamaha A6A AVR with an external Emotiva amplifier that powers my front left and right speakers. Would connecting the Wiim Ultra to the AVR via RCA (to take advantage of its superior DAC and streaming capability) and then sending the signal to my Emotiva amp provide good sound quality? Or would it be even better to connect the Wiim Ultra directly to the Emotiva amp (bypassing the AVR) since the Wiim Ultra has a built-in preamp? In other words, would using the Wiim Ultra's preamp directly with the Emotiva amp provide a noticeable improvement compared to using the AVR’s preamp, which is designed for surround sound rather than stereo? i only have one set of left and right speakers.. and i would hate to switch each time im listening to music to movies. btw.. i currently use the apple 4k tv. ( i know no apple music with wiim.. i can just use another site) thank you
Hi! Thanks for this question. 👍 I’m not sure if the A6A has this feature, but if there’s a “Pure” or “Direct” option when it comes to audio modes, then that disables any processing done by the A6A, typically. But even then, even if there isn’t a feature like that, you might still be just fine connecting the Wiim to the A6A since Yamaha AVRs in general are known for their musicality. So you might be surprised by the high quality audio going having the Wiim go through the A6A. 👍 Experimentation is key! 😁
I used the Peachtree Nova300 integrated amp. Like its namesake, it handles up to 300wpc, so it’s a beast. And highs/midrange sounded great when I kept the room correction to 20 - 250 Hz so it didn’t affect the mid/high frequencies 👍
Yes Apple TV4k is delivering a 24bit/48khz unless you are doing the right set up inside… So this is already lossless High rez but not more than 24/48… got my Apple TV connected through hdmi in The ultra
I don’t stream. I have all my music in iTunes MacBook Pro. I mean I buy music from hdtracks or import from CDs as lossless and store it in iTunes library. I can physically connect my MacBook to wiim ultra and play it that way. But the question is can I copy my entire iTunes music library on to a usb flash drive and attach to wiim ultra and play my music that way? Have you tried it and does it work?
@@trekkis Thank you for your reply. You mean if I attach a usb drive with my entire music collection to Ultra, not only I can play it in that Wiim Ultra, I can also play the same music library from another Wiim Ultra in another room in same wifi?

Hi guys, can anyone give me an advice on either getting the wiim ultra or the wiim pro plus ? I am planning to buy the wiim pro plus . Is there a huge difference in the sound as i am going to connect it using the rca out to my cayin jazz 80 . And optical out from my tv to tge wiim pro plus.
The Ultra seems to have a wider, fuller, more lively soundstage with its ESS SABRE DAC inside, compared to the AKM DAC in the Pro Plus. Some even say it’s a “night and day” difference. 🤷♂️
Maybe you can help. I use Apple Music to play lossless but these days Qobuz for the highest quality. I have a Tonewinner AT300 that I Bluetooth stream but I know I’m not truly getting that high quality bitrate. How can I get the highest quality either over Bluetooth or wired playback? What do I need to buy?
Qobuz over Wi-Fi should sound pretty fantastic, especially utilizing the ESS SABRE DAC inside the Ultra connected to the AT300 via analog RCA connections, and putting the AT300 in Pure or Direct mode (whatever it happens to be called) so that it isn’t adding any additional processing. Other than that, if you really want to step it up, ripping CDs to FLAC or even investing in physical media - like 5.1 DVD/Blu-ray or Atmos music discs - would be the next logical step. Joining this email (👇) list was great for me to know the latest classic albums coming out in various surround sound formats. 👍 immersiveaudioalbum.com/
Question: if I uae a Marantz receiver, do I connect my TV to the wiim HDMI connection fist then the wiim to the Marantz? If there an HDMI out on the Wiim?
If you have the time, ripping to FLAC will be superior. But I get it - time is valuable, especially these days. So with the ESS SABRE DAC inside, the Ultra handles lossy files pretty darn well. 😎
streaming over airplay 2 is always lossy aac. The only way to get lossless streaming over apple music is by using an airplay 1 device (e.g. airport express 1 Gen) then you have at least CD quality or an appleTV 4k which is up to 48KHz/24Bit.
Ealan: It sounds like your Peachtree is doing better than my hybrid 125 Int. Amp. I have been having front panel switching issues and "poor repairs by new repair made on Warrenty.
I have a similar setup in that I'm using a {eachtree Carina 300 (new version not the Gan model) I returned the Wiim. I agree with the muddy sound of the DSP feature. I ran it through the internal Wiim DAC and the internal DAC on the Peachtree. The Wiim DAC was OK but not great. The Peachtree dual mono DAC/Amp setup was far superior. Its' ok just as a streamer but I think the Eversolo A6 outperforms it, granted it's double the cost.
I’m an Apple guy but despite the Ultra not being Apple air compatible I still decided to buy the ultra for its versatility For Apple Music I have an Apple TV older model Question. ?? I’m using the ultra’s HDMI arc from my Tv I cannot connect my Apple TV to the ultra as the hdmi port is already in use Can I use an adaptor HDMI out from my Apple TV to the adaptor which gives Toslink Out which can go in my ultra Is this a solution for Apple Music with the Ultra Thanks 🙏
I believe ALAC (Apple Lossless Audio Codec) can be supported via AirPlay 2 up to CD quality (16-bit/44.1kHz). So that’s still technically lossless. But there may have been a firmware update I missed that allows for higher resolution streaming over AirPlay? Maybe… 🤔
I Do not use apple music anymore, but earlier this year it was still aac 256 for sure. Each steamer is directly informing about this. There is no any alac. Only air play 1 can be lossless, but user can not choose directly AP1 over AP2.
I couldn’t find a reason to get the ultra. I have a preamp and my receiver I use as an amp has streaming services. But I use Apple Music as well. So the ultra is pointless and offers nothing I don’t already have. Hoping for an actual all in one. or… Just use a Mac mini as your streamer. Even get hi res audio via the phone jack on the front io. Plus, you have a lot more ability via a computer rather than anything else. Onboard storage, endless software customization and on and on.
its been on the node since the n130 model that came out in 2021. I have one. I like it. But it doesn't have the flashy screen on it like the wiim ultra.
I use iTunes for music and my overhead home cinema projector is plugged to AppleTV 4K so I can stream no latency audio to my front powered speakers. For 2 years I’ve been using a Wiim Mini hooked up to my powered speakers to cover all of my music/movie use. I wanted the Ultra so I could add a subwoofer and use the room correction. No AirPlay 2 is a massive dealbreaker for me and probably a huge sector of its potential customer base. It’s obviously some kind of licensing problem with Apple so it could be resolved and we then suddenly get Airplay2 appearing on the Ultra. Until then THIS IS A HARD NO! WTF?!?
I suspect WiiM didn’t wish to pay Apple’s high price for AirPlay certification, and then pay Apple’s per unit cost. If it sold for $50 or $100 more you might have gotten AirPlay enabled.

I just bought my WIIM ultra and pretty amazed for another reason. Before buying the WIIM ultra I was using a matchbox sized DAC from Amazon for under $10 I connected the optical Out from my TV to the optical In of the DAC and fed the RCA analog out to my preamp and powered speakers. I was listening to Hi Res on Utube and Spotify. I needed a better DAC and after debating settled for the Ultra. Doing an AB test I had the same Spotify track going into 1. my Amazon DAC, and 2. into my Ultra via HDMI Arc Surprisingly I could not tell any difference in sound from either, levels being identical, after many trials Am I doing anything wrong ? How can both DACs sound similar when the Ultra has the same DAC chip also in the expensive Audiolab 7000A I expected much better from the Ultra compared to the $10 DAC Infact I’m amazed and disappointed Can anyone give me some answer *. The $10 DAC has no name except Made in China Thanks in advance 🙏🙏
My preamp is Behringer 8 ch mixer My powered monitors are KRK Rokit 5. Also have the Genelecs with a digital inputs. But have not used them as yet as it needs a 75 to 110 ohm adaptor getting a feed in from coax out of ultra Today I did another test and realised that the Amazon DAC has a high output While the Ultra output is a bit low ( my ultra output volume is maxed at 75 but since I also have the preamp mixer volumes getting the volume from Ultra I only give it a max of 60 Even at that volume settings I find the ultra gain out a bit low When listening I can say the Ultra is a bit cleaner but just a wee bit Dont forget we’re talking $10 and $350 For the value u get from $10 The quality from $350 is just about 15% better than the $10 dac That’s why I’m so amazed With all the reviews I heard for a month before buying the ultra I would say it’s definitely disappointing 😂 Again Am I doing something wrong I have 30 years in the field of hi fi gear 😢 Thank you so much for your response 🙏🙏🙏 Appreciate
@ It’s been my experience that you can only get so much performance out of a budget speaker, and I know the KRK Rokit 5’s are budget because I own a pair as well. I didn’t notice a difference in sonic quality for Hi-Res music until I played through higher quality/more expensive speakers, like when I tested a Peachtree Nova300 integrated amp into Aperion Audio Verus V8T Concert towers. That’s when audiophile ESS DACs and Hi-Res music really came alive, personally. The KRK Rokit 5’s can only perform so well, given their price tag. 🤷♂️
Hello again and thanks again for your response. I absolutely agree with your reply. Hello Ealon I tried something I put the Ultra out at 100%. and it did change the whole game I was just skeptical about putting it on 100 as the signal was being fed into the preamp mixer so did not want overload But yes it does make a difference and it does sound like the WIIM I wanted it to be Driving the krk for now and it still has lots of headroom in reserve Thanks again 🙏❤️ Next I’m gona try my genelec digital powered monitors through coax out Shd be fun Cheers and Godbless ❤❤❤
I wanted to love it but it’s a pass from me. At the very least they could have offered a swappable op-amps topology to differentiate it from its predecessor. That would get me def more exciting and ability to tweak it out a little. With that being said, the WiiM Amp standard should be sufficient for those looking for all in one amp with very decent sound. I would wait for a discounts on standard version associated with launching Pro version and use the difference you save on your dinner date. 😉
Yes, but that seemed like a bit of a rube Goldberg solution. One should not have to add another streamer to a streamer in order to get the protocol they need. It is on several of their other products so why not on the ultra?
Thanks for vid, yeah come on bring back airplay 2 like original wiim products, its just good to have especially for people who arnt heaps into it, an easy mainstream device with apple airplay thats not a bluetooth portable speaker.

There is no point to compare bt and wifi on Amazon example. Air play 2 is using aac compression in case of wifi (which is directly shown by older wiims and other steamers - on their displays, can not be missed) and is simply bad. Bt, not in wiim, and of course not in case of Apple, but in overall can use much better aptx or even full lossless codecs. Bt has 4 times better bitrate than air play 2. Quality of "wifi" in case of Apple is pure joke even comparing to bt (and is simply the same as bt in case of Apple aac-limited ecosystem). Whole audio market should eliminate such compressed parody like air play. In this context statement than wifi is better, "won every time" is... Totally unprofessional, to say the least. If someone want to use apple music with sense, need to buy eversolo or fiio streamers with android (but without 48k resampling) and native apple app. Only in this case Apple music is useful. Not using air play 2. In case of room correction, my experience is exactly opposite. Bass frequency should be cut from auto room correction as this function worked properly only in midrange section. But manual adjustment is better in whole spectrum than automatic one. So auto room correction is kind of gimmick, peq is crucial. And bass management / lfe out.
There’s a lot of provably incorrect nonsense in this comment. Regarding auto room correction: it works best from a technical perspective on the low end. Let it correct that, and you will hear differences in the high end because the drivers will be freed up, and acoustically those frequencies won’t be masked. Regarding compression and formats being “unprofessional,” if I could shale most people and point out the fact that most systems fall apart in stability when they struggle to deliver their pointless over 48khz and 24-bit rates. Anything beyond 17 bits is literally impossible to hear the difference. It’s been proven time and time again empirically. The only reason 24 bit really needs to exist is for dsp and capturing (not playing ) full range without having to worry about setting preamp gain (field recorders with extremely low noise floors for example.) Using both your brain and ears as well as measurement tools are a trifecta beyond the “audiophile” crowd. Don’t be this guy. Or do, spend $1k on a digital cable like a dummy.
There is a lot (all) of provably incorrect nonsense in this comment. Room correction do not work in low end In simply practice in any room where it was used / tested, in case of any user and configuration. In case of subs, good ones are working optimally without correction, even when fr is in theory not fully linear. They are active and already have optimal dsp and correction implemented, any other is not optimal. And main speakers in such configuration are already free from this spectrum. Wiim is created to work with sub - due to lfe. But even in case of 2.0 configuration low spectrum correction simply did not work in practice in any of users test scenarios. High parts the same. Mid worked very good in all cases, but full manual correction was always best one. All users independently confirmed the same conclusions. Wiim technically has too limited target curves - in case of low and highs, all included are bad and not adequate. Mids can be said that are not target dependent to the same extend. Should be simply possibly flat. Formats above 16/44 are totally pointless, but source must be lossless. Can not be highly compressed. Any mention about hi res here is example of not understanding topic at the base. You messed up totally different things. Hi res doesn't matter at all. Compression does. But any statement that there is any problem with systems stability on case of hi res is even different nonsense. There is no any problem here, works as a charm. But without any real added value.
@ you’re conflating data and audio compression. Once you get up to speed, let me know sweetheart. Saying there’s “no problem” is a special kind of stupid: you measure that, or no? If not, you’ve entirely missed the point
Exactly as you said, you're totally messing with different topics - lack of understanding at the base. And in second part very low overall dispute level, no comment is needed for something like that.
Shitty usb pops has hard time staying on usb and goes back to what ever was on coax optical etc does not always notice usb input have its sad peeps would say this even close to high end ive never had noises using usb on any other streamer or network bridge

Battle of the platforms, and investors.
Who cares, there are a lot of other features, which you can use to circumvent this.
@@soft-eddy3921 Is there another way to get Apple Music to it wirelessly and still have it any other systems around my house?
( i know no apple music with wiim.. i can just use another site)
thank you
Hi! Thanks for this question. 👍
I’m not sure if the A6A has this feature, but if there’s a “Pure” or “Direct” option when it comes to audio modes, then that disables any processing done by the A6A, typically.
But even then, even if there isn’t a feature like that, you might still be just fine connecting the Wiim to the A6A since Yamaha AVRs in general are known for their musicality. So you might be surprised by the high quality audio going having the Wiim go through the A6A. 👍 Experimentation is key! 😁
thank you… i’m going to get the wiim now…. i’ll try both ways and let you know what the results were… thank you always you rock!!
Can it play music that it pulls from a NAS or does it need to be connected to the USB port?
If your NAS has some sort of media server software installed, you should be able to connect it to the Wiim via Ethernet. Otherwise, yeah, USB.
Someday I'll have one of these. Great in-depth review
Thank you for the kind words!
What amp are you using with this product? RCA pre out obviously. How does it handle upper midrange and higher end amps/monoblocks?
I used the Peachtree Nova300 integrated amp. Like its namesake, it handles up to 300wpc, so it’s a beast. And highs/midrange sounded great when I kept the room correction to 20 - 250 Hz so it didn’t affect the mid/high frequencies 👍
@ would a pair of audiolab 8300mb’s be overkill using the rca preouts coming from the wiim ultra
@@toorop111 It depends on your speakers if it would be overkill or not. The Wiim Ultra is just the source of your content
Regarding room correction, you might find that the poor experience at high frequencies can be attributed to your particular iPhone's microphone.
That’s quite possible! Guess I gotta bust out the dongles and adapters to make my phone accept an external microphone. 😂👍
ok but you can ultimately connect your apple phone via cable to get hires lossless can you?
Sure! Physical connections will never die! 😁🎉
Can I repeat the lp artwork to a larger screen via the hdmi or is that just an input ?
I’m not 100% certain, but I believe it’s input only so that the TV’s audio can run through the Ultra via ARC.
Yes Apple TV4k is delivering a 24bit/48khz unless you are doing the right set up inside… So this is already lossless High rez but not more than 24/48… got my Apple TV connected through hdmi in The ultra
finally the Apple TV 24/48 connected with Hdmi will always be better than Airplay who is limitated to 16/41 ;-)
I don’t stream.
You can not use wiim as dac for pc/Mac, but you can use flash drive - Wiim in that case is media server also for all others devices.
@@trekkis Thank you for your reply. You mean if I attach a usb drive with my entire music collection to Ultra, not only I can play it in that Wiim Ultra, I can also play the same music library from another Wiim Ultra in another room in same wifi?

There is no any really comprehensive video on yt regarding wiim, especially comparing with far, far worse eversolo ( I had two eversolo, and both sold). And others.
@ealanosborne thks for the advice.

Question: if I uae a Marantz receiver, do I connect my TV to the wiim HDMI connection fist then the wiim to the Marantz? If there an HDMI out on the Wiim?
You would connect the Wiim to the Marantz, either via analog out to the Marantz’s analog input, or optical out to the Marantz’s optical input. 👍
Thanks for your quick response. Getting this for myself for Xmas. My wife should be ok with this price.
@@Paul-tw3yi Yay!
I recommend Roon/Tidal excellent experience.
Hi , how is it handling AAC music ? should I re-rip all my music library in Flac ? thanks
If you have the time, ripping to FLAC will be superior. But I get it - time is valuable, especially these days. So with the ESS SABRE DAC inside, the Ultra handles lossy files pretty darn well. 😎
@@ealanosborne thanks for your response. I'll try using it with the aac and see/hear how it sounds then
streaming over airplay 2 is always lossy aac. The only way to get lossless streaming over apple music is by using an airplay 1 device (e.g. airport express 1 Gen) then you have at least CD quality or an appleTV 4k which is up to 48KHz/24Bit.
I wonder how the bass of bookshelf speaker seating on cardboard box sound like?
Great job, very clear and concise

Ealan: It sounds like your Peachtree is doing better than my hybrid 125 Int. Amp. I have been having front panel switching issues and "poor repairs by new repair made on Warrenty.
Dang! Sorry about that!
Yeah, the price for what the Wiim can do still can’t be beat. But yes, the Eversolo is superior for obvious reasons. 🤘
I’m an Apple guy but despite the Ultra not being Apple air compatible I still decided to buy the ultra for its versatility
For Apple Music I have an Apple TV older model
Question. ??
I’m using the ultra’s HDMI arc from my Tv
I cannot connect my Apple TV to the ultra as the hdmi port is already in use
Can I use an adaptor HDMI out from my Apple TV to the adaptor which gives Toslink Out which can go in my ultra
Is this a solution for Apple Music with the Ultra
Thanks 🙏
I mean yeah, in theory if that adapter can change the HDMI signal to a light emitting optical signal, the Ultra should be able to accept that. 🤷♂️
@@ealanosborne. Thanks 🙏 appreciate
I really do wish to see much more usb output on devices
I believe AirPlay 2 also does no it do hi res, or even normal CD quality. Correct me if this has been fixed.
I believe ALAC (Apple Lossless Audio Codec) can be supported via AirPlay 2 up to CD quality (16-bit/44.1kHz). So that’s still technically lossless. But there may have been a firmware update I missed that allows for higher resolution streaming over AirPlay? Maybe… 🤔
I’ve read AirPlay 2 capped at 256 unless from Mac. Maybe it’s changed. Google it for latest internet discussion.
I Do not use apple music anymore, but earlier this year it was still aac 256 for sure. Each steamer is directly informing about this. There is no any alac.
Only air play 1 can be lossless, but user can not choose directly AP1 over AP2.
Will it work with UA-cam music?
It should via Google Cast
I couldn’t find a reason to get the ultra. I have a preamp and my receiver I use as an amp has streaming services. But I use Apple Music as well. So the ultra is pointless and offers nothing I don’t already have. Hoping for an actual all in one.
or…
Just use a Mac mini as your streamer. Even get hi res audio via the phone jack on the front io. Plus, you have a lot more ability via a computer rather than anything else. Onboard storage, endless software customization and on and on.
It's not the first streamer with hdmi. Bluesound node has had one for a while.
its been on the node since the n130 model that came out in 2021. I have one. I like it. But it doesn't have the flashy screen on it like the wiim ultra.
Your comparison of Amazon and Apple music is less about bt vs wireless and more about the actual quality of the music
When given the ability to stream lossless music over Wi-Fi via AirPlay 2, Apple Music and Amazon Music HD sound no different
As air play 2 is not losless, so this is technically impossible.
Where @Bob-Fields at?
Nice production change.. the green screen background is pretty cool.
It would be nice if you could use that for video over lay on a live stream =)

This needs AirPlay 2. I use it to cast to multiple systems simultaneously. Bluetooth can’t do that.
I just bought my WIIM ultra and pretty amazed for another reason.
Before buying the WIIM ultra I was using a matchbox sized DAC from Amazon for under $10
I connected the optical Out from my TV to the optical In of the DAC and fed the RCA analog out to my preamp and powered speakers.
I was listening to Hi Res on Utube and Spotify.
I needed a better DAC and after debating settled for the Ultra.
Doing an AB test I had the same Spotify track going into
1. my Amazon DAC, and
2. into my Ultra via HDMI Arc
Surprisingly I could not tell any difference in sound from either, levels being identical, after many trials
Am I doing anything wrong ?
How can both DACs sound similar when the Ultra has the same DAC chip also in the expensive Audiolab 7000A
I expected much better from the Ultra compared to the $10 DAC
Infact I’m amazed and disappointed
Can anyone give me some answer
*. The $10 DAC has no name except
Made in China
Thanks in advance 🙏🙏
Which preamp and powered speakers are you referring to?
My preamp is Behringer 8 ch mixer
My powered monitors are KRK Rokit 5.
Also have the Genelecs with a digital inputs. But have not used them as yet as it needs a 75 to 110 ohm adaptor getting a feed in from coax out of ultra
Today I did another test and realised that the Amazon DAC has a high output
While the Ultra output is a bit low
( my ultra output volume is maxed at 75 but since I also have the preamp mixer volumes getting the volume from Ultra I only give it a max of 60
Even at that volume settings I find the ultra gain out a bit low
When listening I can say the Ultra is a bit cleaner but just a wee bit
Dont forget we’re talking $10 and $350
For the value u get from $10
The quality from $350 is just about 15% better than the $10 dac
That’s why I’m so amazed
With all the reviews I heard for a month before buying the ultra
I would say it’s definitely disappointing
😂
Again
Am I doing something wrong
I have 30 years in the field of hi fi gear 😢
Thank you so much for your response 🙏🙏🙏
Appreciate
I did hear the Audiolab 7000A with the Wharfdale floor standing Linton and ofcourse the sound imaging clarity and overall performance were impressive
The 7000A and the ultra share the same DAC sabre chip.
I am awaiting my Audiolab 6000A and the Elac Debut 3 (6.5)
Maybe the Amazon DAC has a high output gain compared to the Ultra
Thanks 🙏🙏 truly appreciate your help
Hello Ealon
I tried something
I put the Ultra out at 100%. and it did change the whole game
I was just skeptical about putting it on 100 as the signal was being fed into the preamp mixer so did not want overload
But yes it does make a difference and it does sound like the WIIM I wanted it to be
Driving the krk for now and it still has lots of headroom in reserve
Thanks again 🙏❤️
Next I’m gona try my genelec digital powered monitors through coax out
Shd be fun

Eddie Vedder sounded muffled on every sound system in the world.
HA! 😎
Hey man, could I connect this to my PC and drive some bookshelf speakers with it without any delay?
The Wiim Amp and Amp Pro can drive bookshelf speakers. The Ultra doesn’t have its own internal amp.
Fair enough! 👍
No point. Using external dac is far better.
Not an all in one solution but I believe you can connect the wiim mini to the wiim ultra by optical to get the airplay if you need it.
I mean yeah, you could in theory. Wiim-ception! 😄

Fair enough!
You are an arrogant little princess.
The only reason 24 bit really needs to exist is for dsp and capturing (not playing ) full range without having to worry about setting preamp gain (field recorders with extremely low noise floors for example.)
Using both your brain and ears as well as measurement tools are a trifecta beyond the “audiophile” crowd.
No coax input? Why? Only thing putting me off tbh
This is real con, but You can use DDC converter. They are not expensive.
