Chris Robinson did this song as a separate project from the Black Crowes when his mom-in-law Goldie Hawn was in the movie The Banger Sisters. It’s on the movie soundtrack. The song describes the character that Goldie Hawn plays… an aging “wild child” who can’t seem to catch a break, but who has a heart of gold. It’s a wonderful movie, sad and funny at the same time. I love the vibe from the music… so nostalgic and timeless for someone like me, who came of age in the ‘70s …
In my culture , the Red Road means returning to our natural ways of living, language, culture and traditions. That is whjat the Red Road means to Native North Americans.. It is why I got curious. Thought it was a First Nations person singing this sone. Thanx for this.

I'm picturing a red dirt road, from that small town to the paved city streets. (Red dirt is red because it has a lot of iron oxide in it.)
