I just bought an Alva ST and think it’s an amazing value. The build quality + packaged accessories feel on par with turntables in the $1K range, I think. I’d like to hear how it sounds with a couple of newer phono stages that haven’t been getting enough attention from the audio review community - the Schiit Skoll and iFi Zen Phono 3.

Hello RIck- thanks so much for the review. I am considering entering the world of tubes, at least dipping my toes into it. I would like to hook up my vintage sony turntable as well as streamer into a tube preamp then connect to my yamaha s501 to my klipsch 600m speakers. Do you think the ampapa a1 would benefit me for this purpose? I am debating between the ampapa and the douk audio t8 as two products which would offer me the opportunity to delve into the world of tubes. Thanks so much!

Hello Mario, Yes the Ampapa would work great. The T8 or T8 Pro are good as well, but the Ampapa has lines and Phono pre so would work better for your application. Thanks for watching!
