    Tharn is also a word in a fictional Lapine language used to describe an animal frozen in terror. In Richard Adams' novel "Watership Down" the term is used when the main characters, which are rabbits, see the headlights of oncoming cars and are frozen in place. #Radix

      the entire band Fall of Efrafa is based off of the words used in Watership Down, the band was created specifically for that

    12:32 lyrics
    "the deafening throng, the rapturous
    ascent of lives left in forfeit, our last lament
    this selfish appraisal,
    lives lifted above,
    bereft of all love"

    As if the top comments on this video aren't even anything to do with the song! This band/ song are one of the reasons I still have faith in modern music. The pure raw emotion and talent is something that needs to be heard more in music these days. If you like these guys check out Devil Sold His Soul or This Will Destroy You. Two amazing post rock/ metal bands. Peace & love.

    Great song. From 6:20 onwards, the head cinema becomes really intense and unfolds into a pure drama.

    Basically the entire concept behind the band is about their interpretation of the events narrated in Watership Down.
    Efrafa is the name of a rabbit warren that appears in the book, Tharn is a word from the lapine language (rabbit's language), the same for Elil (which means "enemy"), etc.
    Hope that it's clearer now. :)

      LivingInExile Yeah Tharn is the state in which the rabbits go when they are afraid. Basically, as our state of shock.

    Hay una cosa en concreto de esta canción que me fascina, yo que me fijo en las cosas en las que nadie se fija (creo) no es precisamente la música si no la ausencia de ella, en el minuto 6:12 hay un silencio que dura mas de lo normal, toda la canción es una maravilla, pero ese silencio... como se puede transmitir tanto precisamente con la ausencia de música, ese silencio me pone la piel de gallina...

    • @furieleleutherionnochez7464
      @furieleleutherionnochez7464 3 роки тому +2

      Es justo el momento "tharn" de la pieza. El platillo de la batería, y el feedback de la guitarra, te preparan para que pase algo de mucha adrenalina, marcando 4/4; pero tú, como oyente, te quedas "tharn" durante medio compás.

    • @furieleleutherionnochez7464
      @furieleleutherionnochez7464 3 роки тому +1

      Ah, no, es un compás completo de silencio "tharn".

    • @sierrita_93

      @@furieleleutherionnochez7464 diría que es hasta mas largo que un compas...😅
      En todo caso, si, no lo había podido haber descrito mejor, el momento THARN de la canción, una maravilla, y veo que no soy el único al que esa parte le engancha y le transmite tanto... 😊

    i ordered albums from Altar of Plagues, Wolves in the Throne Room and i'm waiting for 2-3 months...
    the waiting is annoying, and there are older albums i can't order
    "sorry but we can't order this one cause of..."

      It was me and my friend Luke Scott - we're friends with the band and lived near one another in Brighton, England. As an experiment we spent a year with the final mix of Dominion Theology and stems we got from the bands producer Peter Miles, re-arranging the song and adding loads of additional guitar, bass, drums, piano and cello to create this version. We also released the CD version on our own label the same time the LP came out.

    Not my favorite style of screaming, as his alteration is very poor and I cannot hear what is said. Otherwise, decent song.

    • @mechanicalsnail4703
      @mechanicalsnail4703 9 років тому +5

      Personally I hardly ever like screaming. I was surprised to find myself liking this band's quite a bit. I thought about it and remembered the backstory to Pink Floyd's "Great Gig in the Sky" and how they told the singer to use her voice as an instrument. I realized that if you couldn't understand the words, it was doubling as an instrumental part and hearing the words wasn't essential.
