Btw minor nitpick, if you dungeon heal it is almost always better after a pull to run up with the tank/group and then drink right before you get put into combat rather than drinking right away and being really far back. A couple reasons for this, a) you are going to get a few ticks of regen on the way so you will need to drink slightly less time this way and b) if someone does something stupid or if the tank gets roflstomped you can save them and pop cds/pot if needed, whereas if you're in africa they're just dead. Often it won't really matter, but every now and then it definitely does Watched your other healer videos and they are pretty nice, the detail is great. I don't think anyone figured out the borrowed time renew interaction back then. Or at least I can't find any forum posts about it. I regards to the other thing, I always like drinking after pulls better, it incentivizes the tank to wait for my mana because I'm far away from him. Obviously this tank didn't wait for me but most do, if I ran with the tank they would almost always pull the instant I start drinking and I'd never get any mana, which is especially bad in dungeon finder because most rando tanks are trash. Also it may not seem like it in the video but I won't drink to full mana if I feel like the tank will die before I can get to him. So technically it shouldn't really matter if you drink immediately or drink later as long as you are ready for whatever the tank is going to do.
A lot of the renews are wasted by immediately using penance or atonement. Most of this dungeon just needs atonement healing without many bubbles or renews (and i'm undergeared)
Is this more of a dungeon spec? To keep BT uptime as much as possible PWS has to be used on cd which would cause major mana issues in a raid no? The point is to keep BT up to spam renew?
@@macdaddyswag2585 I ran a few last night in the template gear, was at like 1,650 haste and no shaman in grp for spell haste..think was still only getting 5 ticks..but yeah renew is crazy strong in this spec when raid dmg is high...it will be very interesting to try this in a raid setting...kinda giving me tbc disc vibes but on steroids and way more toolkit.

@@daalton5836 yes a single disc only. nothing more needed / wanted. that's the issue players will have. we're running top clears on ptr and were on beta since it's what our guild does as testers. casual guilds won't really care and just run whatever they have and if it's stacked priests then go for it. Generally though cata isn't that great for priests unfortunately. those are just facts from original release and classic.

This is how I play disc in dungeons now in wotlk lol. I love renew.
what addons you use for the raid frame to see the buffs of your aegis etc? plus the cds on your evangelism and the others?
weakauras for the cds above the raid frames, and everything on the raid frames is just healbot, no other addons.
I love how healing in dungeons actually matter in Cataclysm!

With glyph of PW:S and inner will PW:S is pretty efficient. But watch the disc priest guide for a more in depth explanation.

I've got 2 extra ticks on renew in the video with just blue gear no gems/enchants (1478 haste)
