How to install a hard drive

In this video I go through in detail how to install a hard drive into a PC. I get asked a lot as it related to Blue Iris (security camera software) how do I install a hard drive like the Western Digital Purple Surveillance drive? It is pretty simple, but a lot easier with a demo like this!
Here are the basic steps:
1. Power down the PC and unplug it from the wall.
2. Open the PC case and locate an available SATA port on the motherboard.
3. Connect the SATA cable to the SATA port on the motherboard and to the hard drive.
4. Connect a power cable from the power supply to the hard drive.
5. Close the PC case and plug the power cable back into the wall.
6. Boot the computer back up and open "Disk Management"
7. Initialize the drive
8. Right click on the new drive where it says "unallocated" and create a new simple volume.
9. Your hard drive is now ready to use!
