- Energia-Polyus (Polus/Skif-DM prototype orbital laser weapon platform) launch was 15 May 1987.
Energia-Buran (Buran spacecraft) launch was 15 November 1988 -
What is absolutely insane, is that Enerygia worked 2of2 times, right out of the gate. Buran also returned autonomously first time. Insanse skills and quality control.
yes. and a bit of luck, which you always need in space
How I wish it flew again!
phenomenal footage, energia was an amazing rocket with loads of potential, sad to see its demise.
It may be comming back. In a modern form however.
@@mattmatt115 do you have any info

It’s boosters are the basis of the Zenit launcher, still using the RD-171, a Development of the original RD-170s used on the boosters. There’s plans to develop an Energia derived vehicle to replace the Angara A5V for Moon base missions.
This was the last vehicle that had true super heavy lift capability (by volume and payload mass) until SpaceX’s Starship (Falcon Heavy has Super Heavy lift capability but it lacks fairing volume, even with the stretched one soon).
Starship got beaten by SLS, yikes.
Come on Roscosmos build this beast again...
It is super expensive
BUILD THE BEAST
They will one day
They are corrupt
A better version..
That's some heavy duty footage that i didn't even know existed. Good stuff
The perfect rocket doesn't ex.....
The most beautiful rocket design man has ever know or ever will know.
Wish the Russians can revive this monster...
It's so sad seeing the Buran crushed by its hangar and the leftover orbiters and Energija rockets rotting.
There is a mockup of Energia lite in baikonour till this day
Absolutely fascinating!!!,thanks for posting.
Like Egyptians built their biggest pyramids before the collapse of the civilization in 4,2 kiloyear the Soviets built their best pieces right before the
True ! Good point of view.
Very cool footage.
I love this video
I enjoyed that. Thanks for posting
Awesome!... Space Shuttle 2.0👍
Awsome editing and music!
Evolution version of sts system. Not just a shuttle launcher
Love the music
strong very strong
Mad ting.
awesome
If this thing still operational, ISS would finished earlier, and Russia might finally be on the moon and even beyond. Also, before SpaceX reusability become fashion
My love 😭😭
Why only 100 views? It's 2017 already! The channel seems abandoned
They made the bad decision, well for me during the 90s. Should've preserved the Energia Program with the light Variant.
Energya is great
What's the music in the video?

Genius and madness are close together. The Russians are both.
@Atlas Dankworth they are broke as fck. They got 2.7 billion last year, esa for comparison had 6.5 billion and nasa like 70 billion. They are going to cut their budget even further. If putin keeps this up they have to build lawnmowers soon.
2:07 Buran 😥
What song ?

Uaoooo bestial nave.
How much money you spent on this?
it was much more expensive than the US shuttle
@@mikitapryscepau5723 Way cheaper, there really is no way that the Buran could have been any more expensive than the STS.
@@techmccat1809 it was
Using mid to late eighties purchasing power 764 million US dollars (without Buran), around 3.5 billion US dollars in 2020.
@@deserteagle-nx1hl It would be necessary to compare non-recurring and recurring costs separately…
The total cost is at least available for STS: $196 billion until 2011, corrected for inflation (to the final year), for 135 orbital missions (the two hull losses with fatalities included).
yuri : oh yes i agree
Can anybody name the music please?

Less election hacking ... More space ship building 😐😐😐😐
