I agree 100%. It literally looks and feels like a concept car but it's actually on sale. I'm blown away by what Chinese industry is now capable of producing.
Props to the exterior designer Nader Faghihzadeh. He's the genius that also designed the timeless BMW 6 series (F06) that still looks stunning. Can't believe it's a 13 year old design. He deserves more credit. He also designed the outgoing BMW 7 series G12, which in my opinion, in LCI form, is the best looking 7er ever made. Avatr is killing it.
Know that's why so much of it reminds me or puts other designs in my mind. He did a fantastic job, looking forward to how he does with EV where the packaging is more welcoming to design.
And this is his worst creation to date. I hope he won’t go downhill like Franz Von Holzhausen at Tesla. He used to be one of my favorite designers when he was with Mazda.
I don't think it's futuristic. It's tech that's pretty much the norm these days. The most complex parts of EVs remain the batteries. As for proper handling, i.e. mechanical engineering, that's been pretty much perfected by legacy auto makers for decades now. Innovation is building on the successes of the past and continually improving upon them.

But Changan is state owned and Huawei is big so it should be fine in the long run. Also both of them basically just came to market so may be a bit premature ? We'll have to wait and see.

I was there in Kunming and tried avatr12, Absolutely amazing car. But there are too many Chinese competitive brands. Even Avatr is still struggling to survive.
No avatr 12 is selling well because of the Huawei Mate 60 pro which has just beaten new Apple iPhone sales in China. Huawei phones can works seamlessly with this EV's software developed by Huawei.

i just arrived from the car show of a local dealership offering it. the specs are IN-SANE. in person is as every bit as impressive as in the video. i was blown away by the clarity of the digital rear view mirror. it was night time and was as clear as day. the only bad things I can think of are: - no really good mantainance program - back seats are not that comfortable - frunk is small AF - all electric / electronic so good luck if something stop working - only carplay. no android car
