Another slow month before the December. After upgrading my gear, I'll be pretty much done until the next month. If they're going to nerf Hydra Termination, it shouldn't be just lowering its damage output, but rather that you have to charge it beforehand. Hydra has the gauge for the five empowered normal attacks. So instead have it so that once the gauge is filled up, then you can expend it entirely using Hydra Termination or 1/5th per one of the empowered normal attacks.
I hope that the rewards for free battle LS matches is higher than NPC matches, otherwise, I'm likely to stay in my pit, avoiding other players most of the time. Having the voucher rewards be the same could be effective at encouraging people to actually just battle each other instead of deliberately getting certain results by abusing free matches. As for MARS, I tend to find its utility most effective in cases like Dryverus where the normal lock on camera performs poorly. MARS expands attack range and moves the camera back, making it less problematic. I've actually been using Garm/Nidhogg this whole time on my main, so I'm happy to see some balance adjustments.
Dryverus is also a good example because if youre participating in crimson realm and all you have are LC augs, youre missing a lot of power. MARS allows you to still deal a decent ammount of damage and make sure youre not making it harder for your party to kill it in time~
While I like that they gave us another way to earn endgame capsules I don't like that they put this in a solo quest. I know pso is not like other mmos but I do want to play with other players. Also if they decide to make quadxtalio December by march we'll probably be hitting 6 digit numbers just like base.
Im sure they'll add badges to party content as well. Tbh i could imagine them drop in UQ and standing high difficulty quests~ They did say they're looking into making UQ rewards better so this would be a good way of doing it! In JP PSO2 weapon badge would drop from seasonal UQ and non-seasonal UQ would drop crests. These crests were exchangeable for rare drop-only untradeable weapons meanwhile weapon badges usually centered around catch up gear & items.
The nerf to Hydra Termination is a shame honestly. I feel like MARS needs a time extension in order for it to be more relevant outside of downs. At the minimum % required, you only get to use MARS for like, 20 secs? Or so, which isn't enough for most of the weapons to actually do something significant (besides Hydra Termination and Scylla Retaliation), and many of them don't actually feel good to use in PSE Bursts because, outside of Garm's Absolute Shatter, the other MARS weapons lack an efficient AoE attack.
There's a big risk your attack won't hit so it should do bigger damage than anything else no matter the circumstances I also agree the other Mars attacks don't do enough to brother in pse and combat zones so buff those instead
I'm not sure if I read that correctly, but are you saying that Scylla Retaliation doesn't have a good AoE? I could see the charge up being a bit faster, but so far I can drop 4 to 5 Scylla Retaliation during PSE burst. The immunity/not-disturb ring is also nice. As for the time required to activate MARS, I'm comfortable with it. Otherwise everyone would just be spamming MARS and it would lose the additional weapon label in my opinion.
people have been asking for hydra termination to be nerfed since mars came out. it shouldn't be doing more dps on downs than fighter, and now it won't be.
Hydra termination being 800 potency per second was a problem. Its nearly twice as strong as regular gameplay. Scylla Retaliation also is 761 potency per second but it requires 3 starlink which takes time to wind up. Termination not only was stronger, unconditional, but also recharged mars battery like crazy. Garm and Niddhogr would also see way less use because despite their supportive effects the damage just was way too low to bother. MARS absolutely needed rebalancing and this wasnt a situation where you could, or should, buff everything to match Hydra damage. If you need to rebalance 99% of the game around 1% then its usually easier to just rebalance the 1% around the 99% of the game. If that makes sense
