Steve Hamburg, thanks for your comment....for it is fans like you, who take time to comment that makes it worth the daunting effort it takes to actually post 2300 hrs. of absolutely classic vintage content like this video to www.imasportsphile.com ....and since we currently have 1700 videos posted with 9,000 more to post, we recommend you bookmark us and not rely on utube....cuz we have 100 different utube channels under different names that we use as "video weigh stations" for our content to be posted...so you will surely miss some more "nuggets of gold" in our treasure chest of memories
In the 1948 Olympics Lloyd Labeach won for Panama the only two medals(bronze) ever until 2008, if not mistaken, when Saladino won a gold in the long jump...Labeach was never honored as the only one to win a medal for Panama ever again or kept his memory alive....Total three medals in all the history of the Olympic games won by Afro Panamenians.
I met Mr Ewell in 1972, while running track in High School. PIAA District3 Championships 1972, Lancaster, Pa.

My dad was Barney Ewell's training partner at Penn State. My dad never beat Barney at the 60-yard dash, but Barney never beat my dad at the 50.

Jamaica claims Labeach too,his 2 brothers ran for Jamaica, in fact Lloyd himself went to school in Kingston.
