Journey Into Space was a hugely popular 1950s radio series in the UK; written by Charles Chilton it ran for three series with a sequel/revival plays in 1981 and 2008. A final entry in the saga came in 2009 with The Host, written by Julian Simpson. This one is a stand-alone adventure that, unlike previous plays, doesn't follow on from the original series but rather reinvents it. Nonetheless its not trying to be radical or far beyond the original (now nostalgic) style of space adventure in rocket ships...

🇮🇳 I am in awe... Recently discovered the vast library of Audio dramas produced by BBC. This production specifically is amazing with beautiful audio effects. Thanks for uploading these audio dramas.

Glad you're enjoying them. The BBCs output has been extraordinary overall, and it's been good in recent years to see audio drama become more widely popular once again. In terms of productions that I particularly enjoy myself and which I have on this channel, I can particularly recommend 'Black Bartlemy's Treasure' (a pirate adventure with cinematic sound design) and the 2016 adaptation of Watership Down (there's a 2002 version as well, which I don't rate as highly). There are of course many, many more, though...
