you are lucky to still be alive.
Watch a video on how to use a lathe. I found myself leaning back in my chair for my protection waiting for something to go wrong.
I have since changed my ways.
Keeping both hands at the end of the tool gives you no leverage or control- that's why your tool is jumping off the stock. I always keep a hand forward pushing down on the tool against the rest for stability.
Man slow down and enjoy what your doing and be careful get your hand on the tool rest
Good advice about this and life in general.
Shouldnt you have one hand on the tool rest? Or close to it?
Yes, thank you for pointing that out. I am a complete newbie to lathes.
He should
I think the jaw chuck is to secure the opening of a cup while you finish the base
What is the chuck you are using??
Hi man, great video. I wanted to ask you, what is the chuck size for these models of lathes? I have the WL330 model that would be the brother of this one that you have
It is a 1” x 8 TPI thread. There is a link in the description to the one I purchased.
The tail stock takes the smaller mt1 drill chuck.
Thanks for the positive comments and thank you for watching.
@@TwoKeysStudio Thank you very much
Can you put a drill bit in one end?
You will need a drill chuck in the tail stock for that.
You’re holding the gouge wrong! 🙄
Several have busted me for that.
@@TwoKeysStudio He's right...you need to hold that gouge closer to the blade.
What size chuck?
Its in the description, here it is.
