Pragmatic and clear instructions...my mirror popped in EXACTLY as he described
Right on!
Perfect video to help with doing this, the angle and the simplicity of the instructions made replacing mine extremely easy, thanks!
That’s great to hear. Cheers!
My new mirror had popped out so I found this video to learn how to re-install it. Perfect instructions, especially the tip to use silicone to make snapping it in easier. Thanks!
Glad it helped!
Thanks for sharing! With your great directions it made it really easy to change!
Glad it was helpful!
well done mate, needed this video, couldn't work out which angle to put it back in from. Cheers
Glad it helped! 🍻
Thank you for the video! I am going to be doing this job tomorrow.
Glad it was helpful. Happy wrenching!
Thank you, sir, for your guidance because with help, I was able to the right mirror on my 2007 Lexus Rx350 😊
That’s great news, glad to hear it!
Thanks for the detail instruction!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the video on sideview mirror! i have a 2008 RX400h where the driver's side mirror won't tilt up or down using the button.
Glad it was helpful.
Top man legend! Thanks for saving the day.
Happy to help.
Great Demo
Thanks
Super easy, thanks for the video
You're welcome.
Thanks for the video. It's EXACTLY what I'm dealing with. Tried today and couldn't get the metal guide clips off the old one and couldn't snap the bottom tabs in on the bottom of the new one. I hope the mirror will stay on for a day of driving just being held on by the top clips! Will try again tomorrow after giving the metal clips another try and getting the grease.
I hope it works out for ya.
did u managed to solve the issue with the bottom tabs not snapping/staying on? if yes, please tell me how?! 😅
@@lailag100the grease was the trick and it snapped right in after I used the grease he suggested.
Excellent video!
I appreciate that, thanks.
Great video, thank you
Glad you liked it!
Great video. I have a 2011 Toyota Avalon and need a driver side replacement heated with backing plate. After market brands don’t seem available only Toyota OE parts at $251. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks.
That’s a great candidate for a salvage part.
Great video. Im almost there. What does the silicon grease do? Any tips to get those bottom two clips to lock in without breaking glass?
Thanks. I was using the silicone to lubricate those clips. They are tough to click in, so any little bit helps. I applied heavy inward pressure and shook my hand from side to side at the same time. It feels like you’re going to break it, but then it pops in.
@ToolDemos i got the grease and it did the trick! Yeah I was worried glass would break as I couldn't get bottom clips to click in but finally did. Thank you!
@@aadil114 right on!
Hi what if one clip is missing? One of the old clips is broken from the old one and I can’t find anywhere online where they sell the metal clips
If you mean the long metal guide that I swapped to the new mirror, I would say don’t sweat it. It should work okay without it.
You mention the dimming and heat functions but not memory.
Is it safe for me to assume that the remote positioning and the auto positioning that occurs with the seat memory settings is a function of the mount only and has nothing to do with the glass?
Yes, that’s right. You’ll have to manually (using the controls) re-position the mirror when you’re done, though.
Very helpful!!!
Thanks.
great video
Glad you liked it
what was the brand of the replacement you used and where did you buy it?
Generic ‘AUTOXBERT’ from Amazon. amzn.to/3upqFOB
Thank you!!!
You're welcome!
will the new mirrors still work with the electronics that allow me to move the mirrors while inside my car?
Yes. All of those functions stay on the car. Only the mirror glass is changed.
Hello. I replaced my side mirrors as they were oozing and dark. I had trouble mounting and one of the mounting tabs bent and broke in half. I am not able to find the part number listed Anywhere. Any ideas. Hope I am not toast. One of them went in perfect!
You won’t find an original replacement new. My recommendation is try eBay or a salvage yard.
@@ToolDemos Thanks! Did so at a salvage yard yesterday! Thanks!
thank sir😊
Glad it was helpful.
What are those metal tabs called and how do i find them? my mirror glass got stolen and they took the tabs with them, and now i cant find replacement!
Also, maybe u can tell me why, but the mirror wont click onto/ or stay on the two bottom clips at all, just hanging loose on the two top ones 😭😭
I don’t know what those metal clips are called, but they don’t seem to be very important. I think your mirror will stay on just fine without it. As far as why they won’t clip in the bottom, it’s because you’re not pushing hard enough. That’s why I used grease but also pushed very hard to get it to finally click.
excellent video! I did it!
Glad it helped, congrats!
Came across this video becaue someone hit and run and fortunately on the driver side glass cracked on my 08 lexus rx350. Seemed easy enough for someone with no experience working on cars to complete. Got the mirror however it looks like the metal from the heating wires were not clipped on but sautered together. Was that the case for anyone else?
Overall great video tho!
Thanks. I’ve never seen them soldered on like that.
Thanks mate, had a little bit of an accident and instead of paying the dealer I’m doing it myself!
Right on. Happy wrenching.
@@ToolDemos how can I buy those mirrors please.
