  • Another Nancy's Fancy is an English Country Dance devised by Pat Shaw in 1976. It is an improper duple minor longways dance. "Nancy's Fancy" is a country dance that was still being danced in England in 1909 when Cecil Sharp recorded it in the first part of The Country Dance Book. The other "Nancy" is Nancy Langstaff of Pinewoods Camp.
The tune was composed by Pat Shaw for this dance and shares the name. It was performed by Bare Necessities (Earl Gaddis, Mary Lea, Peter Barnes, and Jacqueline Schwab) on the album "Modern Treasures". It is used with permission of Country Dance Society, Boston Centre, Inc. www.cds-boston...
The animation plays at 95 counts per minute normally, but the first time through the set the dance is slowed down so people can learn the moves more readily. Men are draw as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color, however the border of each dancer indicates what role they currently play so the border color may change each time through the minor set.
