This couldn't have come at a better time. I'm getting ready to start setting up my first freestyle deck. Awesome info, and I'm almost ready to make my purchase from Waltz! ✋
damn just so happens my trucks are 8 and my board is 8.25! i only have to buy the wheels and the tail guard, thanks for saving me from buying a whole new set up!
Question? Ou said your skating an 8 inch deck so wouldn’t it be 8 - 7.43 not 7.6 -7.43. Which if in fact the deck is 8 inches wide and you subtract 7.43 you would have Over a half of an inch smaller than the 8 inch deck?
Great Q! Some of this is personal preference, though many freestylers prefer mid/high trucks. Higher trucks make rail stands slightly more stable and usually offer a larger, platform to stand on in pogo/5050 truck stand
@@mike_osterman1 Thanks for answer. I see, in fact in 80's the freestyle's trucks was high. And a last question: when do you use the risers? Just to increase the height? Is it useful for freestyle?
Yep, risers are a great way to raise your trucks even more. That will make your rail stands even more stable and provide and even larger platform for 5050s and pogos
@@manuel_86 Risers can potentially also help you ollie higher if you happen to do any ollie tricks. Though some prefer lower trucks because it makes your board more 'responsive' when you do ollie tricks because the tail snaps to the ground much quicker.
@@mike_osterman1 if you have got a video showing the trucks first and explain the story behind the trucks, drop the video first. People get feelings, get inspired to buy some trucks. Maybe do a give away and of course the review of the trucks. And then announce in the video the date you drop the trucks online. Build up. Yes,in this particular order. Don't thank me. I'll send you an invoice.
Remember that DVD called ''Trick You Can't Do'' by Reverse Freestyle [Lynn Copper Product]. I still have it somewhere 😆🤣
He Mike thanks for the video and I love freestyle skateboarding, but I am a street skateboarder who went back to freestyle..

Heck yeah!!! Happy to help!
My strategy has always been just buy small trucks and hope it works out. Works almost every time.
Lol! Lucky! I messed up a few times when I was starting out
Finally! I have asked every skate shop/skater I met this question😂
Hah! Happy to help
Thanks, Mike. 🙏

Riding on a different level of freestyle to skating in many other styles and sizes of setting a better skateboard deck.
"I ride four washers behind each wheel"
Everybody be like:
With or without that washer you always need?
Mike:
I ride zero washers behind my wheels 😎
2 in the front, 0 in the back 💪 Ace trucks have tapered hangers so I don’t think a washer behind the wheel in necessary
@@mike_osterman1 you have different widths for each truck?
Is'n that really confusing?
Especially for a twintail?
Ah, I mean 0 behind the wheel, 2 in front
@@mike_osterman1
You mean between wheel and axle nut?
Is that some kind of board madness or does it have a use?
Thank you!
Tell me please. Can multiple bearing washers be used to increase wheel width?
Yes
@@mike_osterman1 Thanks)
Yes it will push your wheels out further but not by much
So wheel washers arent necessary for boards?
how many mm is one washer width-wise, Mike?
Ah, they vary a bit. Most are about 0.5mm-ish. Some trucks come with slightly thicker ones
What is the width of a washer?
pure facts 🔥

Do you like indy stage 11s ?
And what about truck's height? Is it important? Low, mid or high......I mean

There are really no trucks that are 7.75. They are mostly 7.625. 8 is big for you, I’m surprised you went up that big.
Good catch 😁 did you see rule #2?
What happened to: The Super Secret Waltz skateboarding project ,from 11 months ago?? You did a video about trucks, but never showed them. Weird.
Should we put them on the site? 😏

@@mike_osterman1 you got 20 boxes of trucks 11 months ago and they are not online 😑 wait ..what!?
HOW DO I BUSINESS!?
hey how you doin
Pretty good! Happy to be back!
im shocked that you waited this long to make this video.
I’d been putting it off for ages
Thank you!
