"You've got eyes and you can read"... :-) Brilliant! Great tutorial by the way
I'm glad you enjoyed what could be perceived as contempt for my viewers :D lolololol
@@DIGITALMEAT Well I don't have eyes and can't read! But that never stop me from becoming a visual artist! ( just kidding, great tutorial though)
Thank you! I appreciate you pushing through not feeling that great to help us all out with this tutorial. You sir are a legend.
this is exactly what i needed right now! and very cool that you showed how to enable glow on certain objects only.
That was most enjoyable, loved it!
Wow thank you! Ive been trying to get the glow when i added glass. Super life saver! Thank you so much for sharing!
no problem, please sub :D
Dude. Holy shit for the past like week now i've been trying to figure out as to why my simple render wasnt rendering the glow. You sir r a genius. You dont know how much ive done to try and add glow back into the scene :D
Lololol Glad i helped you find the solution, a like and sub would be appreciated :D
Thank you so so much for the tutorial!!!
No problem Isabel
Super. Always wondered how to do this.
BEEN TRYING TO SOLVE THIS ISSUE FOR AGES, THANKS SO MUCH!
No problem, please like and sub :D
You are a life saver! Thank you so much!
no problem, please sub
This was so useful. Thanks.
I guess it's pretty off topic but do anyone know of a good site to stream newly released series online ?
cool tip; I wonder if it might make a difference if you had modeled the "bulb" with a void inside--in otherwords not solid like a marble, but more like an actual lightbulb that has wall thickness. Anyhow, thnx!
You may have already figured this out by now as this video is nearly 5 years old, buuuut just in case- to remove Object Glow from your render settings menu, you must first switch from Physical renderer back to Standard renderer in order for the "Remove" selection to become clickable. Or you could just switch it off by unticking it like you've done here. Not an overly helpful tip, but a tip nonetheless. Knowledge is power etc. Thanks for this great tutorial, I was stuck on how to do this for a while, cheers!
WoW this cool :D
wow,, you are amazing .
It was like if I watched Rick make a tutorial in C4d. Thanks, very useful.
Who's Rick?
He's (probably) referring to a classic 'the young ones' episode where everybody's got the flu.
yay new video!
+MrAmir - glad you like the videos, if you know any other c4d artists, spread the word about my youtube channel :D Cheers
+DIGITAL MEAT btw, have you tried Vray yet? im using it and all my renders look amazing with little effort!
+MrAmir - I'm not going to cover Vray because i want to keep my tutorials accessible to everyone who has Cinema 4D :D
nice work..
Cheers, please sub
how did you animate your logo? I love the pixel/voxel effect, do you have a tutorial for it?
For the intro at the start of this video I used a plugin called Voxygen, if you look at my newer videos you'll notice I have a new Intro.
Hey Guys, So i'm opening > Render Settings > Effect , but my "Glow" effect isnt there? I have Cinema 4D Broadcast R19.
The reason is probably because you have Broadcast
I am guessing this is only available in studio version, I have R18 Boradcast and I do not have the effect/glow. otherwise a cool tutorial
Yea i just noticed that too. im wondering if its just Broadcast or is it something im missing, because i followed the tutorial perfect.
Can you somehow keyframe the glow using this technique?
Hi!! But how I could animate luminance with sound effector??? For exemple, I would my lamp work with music ??
I've not tried that before, you could definitely do that with XPresso
DIGITAL MEAT thank you. My knowledge of cinema 4 d is poor for now. But maybe you can make a video with this probleme. I will try tomorrow. Thank you!
I will look at making a tutorial to drive values based on sound :D
cool! i will waitnig, I'm subscribed on you
wouldn't a glow add certain reflections to the glass? Like a neon tube?
Yes but this is a post effect
you re great mate...also if you got flu :)
it's amazing, woooow! #chriswoltan :)
watched the video in anticipation, then discovered...no glow effect in C4D lite...I'lll have to figure out a workaround...
Yeah, unfortunately you are correct
I am looking for the same solution for 3ds max...
You came to the wrong place then 😅😅, sorry I can't be of any help.
It makes other objects like plastic also glow, how do I tackle that?
watch the video from 10:27
I´m so sad, it doesn´t work on my computer :( I´m working with r18
It should work on R18
This does not work for me in S22. I have a transparent bulb with thickness and the glow only works when I hide the glass. I'm using Glow in render settings, not Material Glow.
What renderer are you using?
@@DIGITALMEAT Physical. What I find is that the glow works on my object when the camera is far away from it, but when there's an extreme closeup it doesn't show.
Oh no, I'm stupid, I just have to let the whole scene render to completion for the glow to be applied, my bad. Thanks for the tutorial.
@@ROXunreal - lolololol Yup 😀
What if you want to have a colored glow?
Go to render settings > Glow > Colour tab, you'll see the tab at 8:00
@@DIGITALMEAT the problem is that it just stays white. I was trying to texture a lightsaber, but I got the result I wanted using visible lights
@@pietroalessandrini - Sorry, I meant the Glow Tab, there you will find a check box for colour and a colour picker. If it's not working try turning up the intensity, just tested my end, it's working fine.
@@DIGITALMEAT I'll try
So I'm guessing this is an R17 exclusive feature?
+Fireheart Animations - not sure, i thought it was in r16, i'll check tonight when i get home. what version you on?
I'm using R16 but can't see anything that says 'Material Override' which is why I was asking if it was just an R17 feature
+Fireheart Animations - you don't need material override for this glow technique.
Ohh cool
...or you could just check the Evaluate shadows under Ambient Occlusion in your render settings 🤤
What are you talking about? Ambient occlusion isn't even used in this video, it's not even active in the render settings. What does it have to do with glow?
im sure its a great tutorial. but I cant hang around for 13 mins. I need answers faster :) sowwy
:))
awesome. i have better result than you! 🙏🙏🙏
7:10 thank me later
