Hi Darlene, This was terrific! Because of this video you shared with us, I went online and ordered it this week. I received it yesterday and like you I absolutely LOVE THIS TOOL! I have been playing with it all day and it is amazing! Thank you! ~ jan
I had watched several Misti Stamping Tool, You Tube Videos and I wasn't over impressed until I watched your Video. Your Video was great, precise & detailed. Thank you for a great Review on the Misti Stamping Tool, I can't wait to get one now.
Thank you a great video. Your presentation was "spot on." I sold a lot of old stamping supplies and bought the MISTI can't wait to get started. I especially liked how you showed the die cut and stamp method.
Very nice video Darlene. You covered the features we all love about the MISTI. I love my MISTI, and your video focuses on the benefits I find indispensable. Compared to other tools I've purchased, I find the MISTI well worth the money. It's too bad those on the fence can't hold a MISTI in their hands. Iliana is a wonderful person and she values her customers. I'm so happy to see her MISTI become a success. Thanks again for your video!
Loved your video, Darlene. Those of us who love crafts know the feeling you get when you're waiting for the delivery of a craft order, but I am over the moon waiting for my Misti order. I had been trying to order one for months, but didn't want to have to deal with the 6-8 week backlog. A few days ago, I decided to check out the My Sweet Petunia site again, and was absolutely thrilled to see over 350 Misti's in stock! I am so glad I placed my order, because as of a few minutes ago, just over 48 hours since I placed my order, there are only about 120 Misti's left in the current inventory. I am SO looking forward to the delivery of my Misti. So happy for Iliana for inventing this incredible tool! Thanks much for your Misti tips, Darlene.
Great review, Darlene. I just ordered mine & can't wait to get it. About the cracking, I've heard people say it's a great idea to support the lid with a cloth or something soft while inking so that there's no uneven pressure on a hard surface to cause cracks. Loved all your detailed tips. Thanks. :)
Darlene, this is the best product review I've seen for the MISTI. You have so much patience! I really appreciated the benefits of using this for all my PTI stamps with the matching dies, and for two/three step stamping. I would never make a big batch of cards, so didn't think to get this till I saw all your examples of other ways to use it. I think its a bit pricey though and another tool to take up more space on my craft table. I'm still sitting on the fence, but maybe I'll get the MISTI 2 when that comes out!!! I think you got such a quick reply because she knew who you were from your videos, but I don't doubt its a really great company.
Thanks Darlene. I have a couple of extra tips that make a huge difference. 1. If you haven't already, watch Michelle Wong's video called 3 step kitchen sink. Its a little long but she uses shims to create multiple corners so she can set each layered stamp once and then mass produce them in any colors. She has other great videos too. 2. Attach a piece of acetate using tape to the side and/or top of the misti. Then you dont have to be locating your stamp a ma jig sheet. Definately get the grid paper from the Misti store. Its cheap and you won't be getting ink on your back plate nor your black pad. I am even considering removing the foam from all of my stamps to make it easier. I now use the Misti 99% of the time in case I don't get a clean stamp the first time. There is a great facebook groupmthatmis poppingmout jew ways to use it everyday. I think its called Mistified but it is linked on Maureen's videos. Hope this was helpful.
I should have read your post before I posted but I'm too much of a MISTI prosthelytizer. Forgive me if I seem to have repeated a lot of what you just said.
I LOVE the Misti. You can make a perfect group or multiple of a card pattern. My 82 year old Mother love to make her own homemade cards. While they are very beautiful you could always count on the stamping to be unstraight making them look very unprofessional and taking away from the beauty of the design of the card. She started using my Misti and her cards are now perfect.
Thank you Darlene, I had been weighing the pros and cons for purchasing the Misti. I can now say that I truly think I understand a lot more pros, and I think I will plan on buying one after Christmas! You did a wonderful job on this video! Thanks for sharing!
Darlene, you would get better ink coverage if you add a piece or two of fun foam or mouse pad under your lid. I have found that works awesome. Awesome video by the way.
I have alot of stamps but it has been an ordeal to work with them so I just put all of them away, but I think I'm going to go back to my beautiful stamps once I recieve my Misti , can't wait, thank you for your tutorial it helped me to decide. Many blessing, loved your video
Wow what a great review...I think I'll get the misty stamping tool as I have trouble lining things up. As a senior this will come in handy for me with my eyes. thank you for a great review. Really enjoyed watching you show us. pat
Excellent review with great tips! I, too, had trouble with the Altenew Vintage Roses stamp BM (before MISTI) and was heartbroken because I think it is the most beautiful set I own (it was my justification for NEEDING a MISTI). But, with the MISTI I was able to get even the four step roses to look lovely (I think I might have had to reverse my usual order and go from most detailed to least to make it work). Didn't it give you real chills the first time you were able to restamp with PERFECTION? I actually had trouble sleeping the first few nights after I got mine from not being able to stop thinking about how many of my stamping problems it would solve. Folks who think it might be just a fancy jig must not be clumsy like I am who almost never failed to knock my old jig out of place when re-inking my stamp. The printed grid paper pad she offers is nice to have to accommodate stamps of different thickness. You can pull off several sheets together, or however many are needed. It's also nice to have a single sheet of her grid paper on top of the foam when using photopolymer stamps to keep your foam clean. Of course, if you already have some 1/4" grid paper you can cut it to fit. Having the grid paper over the foam is another way to align stamps without needing the downloadable grid. Some genius people [Brigit, Understand Blue, Maureen Wong on the MISTIfied Facebook group and UA-cam] found that you can cut vinyl Quilter's Gridded Plastic to use instead of the downloaded grid. You can tape it to the left side with removable tape and flip it out of the way to stamp, it's sturdier than acetate, and you can spray a second one with Krylon Easy-Tack to act as a gentle sticky mat to hold die-cuts, etc. You can even use the pieces left after cutting to fit to act as bumpers if you need to move your card out of the corner as you did with the striped stamp.
I love your videos! Thanks, Darlene! Great tutorial and review on the MISTI. I just received mine and look forward to trying out the various uses you suggested.
As mentioned below, adding 1 or 2 sheets of fun foam on your table under open lid will help with inking up stamp, but it also takes some pressure off the hinges & may help prevent cracking. Great video. Added to my MISTI pinterest board.
Great video, I read all the comments and have learned from them, thanks everyone! I am one of those sitting on the fence, I have so many tools in my craft room and wonder if I really need it, many tools go unused for a period of time. So this has helped tremendously! TFS Anita
Thanks once again Darlene.....I just received my Misti and am really thrilled with all it can do. No more will I be trashing paper because a stamp didn't turn out right. I love you videos and just joined your website. God Bless
Thanks for this video! I hope you will post more videos using the MISTI in the future. I just recently learned of it's existence and would love to learn more! Lisa... :)
I loved watching your video! Some things must have changed in the last 10 months. I got 2 magnets with my MISTI that arrived yesterday Jan 6 2016. They was stuck on the bottom of the Misti. And not sure about the Made in the USA because mine had a gold sticker on it that said MADE IN CHINA right on the top next to the bottom hinge.
Thanks for a great & detailed review/demo, Darlene! For those who think this is ridiculously over-priced, I want to say that it is not only made in the USA, it is HAND-CRAFTED. I understand each unit is made by hand by a real person--not mechanized robots. This accounts for the higher price. Iliana is not just price-gouging. She is selling a quality product. I haven't gotten one--YET--but plan to order one soon. I just have seen too many benefits to using this tool and solutions to some of my most common problems. I would say, if you do very little stamping, and do not stamp multi-step images, this probably is not a worthwhile purchase. But if you do, it might bear looking into. Just my two-cents' worth!
Ok, well first off my MISTI is due to be delivered tomorrow!!! I am so excited to try it out and I can not wait. I think your review is the best I have watched so far. I am serious I have watched a ton of them in the last month and today of course and truly I really enjoyed your review the most. Now my problem is I want to get those flower stamps you are using. So gorgeous!!! Love it . There is a picture right in front of my typing for some reason. so I hope everything is spelled correctly. lol.... Glad you are getting a replacement. When you first showed your crack I was really worried. Thanks for such a great video. Hugs Lisa G
Great video and ideas! I LOVE my MISTI!! It is just awesome for so many reasons! I was using the negative from my die cut as a guide-but need to give your way a try-that makes so much sense!
EXCELLENT review and mini-tutorial! I bought this MISTI, kind of wish I'd waited for the laser-etched one but I know I'm going to enjoy using it. I'm no good at eye-balling multi-step stamps, and for this alone plus for glitches in stamping, it's going to be great. One question, I see you use alcohol-free wipes to clean your stamps while on the MISTI--could this cause the clear lid to get cloudy? I did buy the MISTI-approved cleaner, but wondered if that would just be for occasional clean-ups and could use the alcohol-free wipes in between for cleaning off my stamps. Have you had any clouding of the clear lid in the meantime? Thanks so much for answering my question. I hope to check out any more of your tutorials, you definitely get a thumbs up from me! Well-done. Best wishes, Joanne
I went to the website, but couldn't afford it right now. The products made in USA are of exceptional quality, unfortunately the manufacturing process become so expensive for the sellers that they can't provide lower (not cheap) prices to consumer. It has a lot to do with US cost of labor and materials. I will buy the Misti as soon I get my check, it is worth. Thanks again.
I agree best tool especially for new card makers like me! This gives me professional looking cards with no experience. I can't wait to try the flower build a stamps. Thank you for the video.
I have been watching this video and it really seems to work well in lining up things. My question is if you use permanent ink and it goes over the card how does it come off the grid??? Does it stain or does a baby wipe or towel just take it off. I know on some things once you stamp with permanent ink on your project or card it is permanent everywhere....Love how precise this tool is....
I've been careful with my inks. If your dye ink stains your clear stamps, I'm guessing it may stain the Misti. If you worry about stains, you can put a piece of scratch paper underneath your cardstock.
Liz Hodge Sorry I just noticed your question! It's for everything but wood-mounted stamps, so acrylic, silicone, photopolymer, and cling rubber with foam.
You mentioned it is made in USA, which = high customer service, historically a trade mark of any product made in United States. May be a little bit pricey, but you have a quality product and a company that cares about customers satisfaction. It is a shame that we don't produce more products here in the states and provide the quality (and jobs) to the people of this country. BTW, great video, thank you.
Wow I love this tool!! Thanks for the great review..I will get one, and for those who think it costs too much I live in Australia and it is double price here but I think it looks worth it this tool will take the guess work out of lots of stamping techniques!!
Do you know how you kept guessing "Maybe I didn't have enough ink on it?" I don't think its the amount of ink. I tested mine repeatedly and kept getting the same problem. I think its caused by the soft black foam insert inside the base tray. I don't get the same problem with my cling foam rubber stamps when I use them without the foam. Because of the foam you can easily "overstamp" and get smudged lines by applying too much pressure or "understamp" from not applying enough pressure and not get enough ink from the stamp onto your paper. There is no real way to accurately apply even pressure over your stamp because the foam is being pushed down with pressure, rather than remaining flat like the hard surface of the base tray. Just a thought.
Loved your video Darlene, great demo! I have been planning on buying a misti because I have severe RA since age 21, that was forty yrs.ago. With artificial knuckles and deformity its hard to use wood block stamps, etc...anymore. When I saw the misti I was so excited. So now I'm switching over to clear stamps. So... not sure what size to buy first. The Mini or the Original 8x10. What size did you use in your video? it looked like a perfect size for card making. Thanks so much!
I used the larger one in the video. I also have the mini, which is convenient for card-making. However, if you are only purchasing one, I would recommend the larger one because there are more things you can do with it.
Yes, you can download it from My Sweet Petunia: mysweetpetunia.com/v/vspfiles/downloadables/GRID_DOWNLOAD.pdf. I had mine printed at Kinko's on transparency.
Hello, Do you think that there is good customer service for everyone or only as a result that you are a experienced card maker who is on UA-cam? Thank you.
I'm sold.Lol.. i want one now.. Lol . At first I wasn't, but what sold me was @14.25.. i love that idea! Because i have a hard time making sure my flowers match right over the first.
Thank you so much for the review. I dont understand why the hinges are made of plastic instead of iron. It looks very fragile to me and you would expect more sturdiness for such an expensive tool.
designmycard54 You can get it at Sweet Petunia: mysweetpetunia.com/shop/ I am giving one away this week on my blog. Details here: darlenedesign.com/wordpress/?p=8550
I so want one but its just a little to much then I can afford right now but I am going to have to save up for this b/c this is amazing b/c I can never stamp straight. Thank you for showing this video.
Speaking of amazing customer service, the inventor changed the printing from the inside of the cover to the outside before beginning larger-scale manufacturing in response to enthusiasts' concerns over cleaning ink from the inside cover. You could double-check with an email to mysweetpetunia.com, but I think if you cleaned the inside of the lid with a minimal amount of Staz-On cleaner and immediately cleaned that off with a baby wipe, the recommended Novus cleaner, or a damp paper towel that you wouldn't damage the cover. I suppose there is a risk of fogging the acrylic, but that might be preferable to a large, opaque, permanent ink smear. Now I have a great excuse for a second MISTI - one just for Staz-On!
I just think that using double layer of acetate, one covering the bottom under the paper and one covering inside the lid will protect from getting damage. Once the acetate gets damage replace it with a new acetate, which are 100 sheets in a box at office supply stores.
+Darlene DeVries In the video you specify a liquid stamp cleaner you prefer over all others. I just can not catch the name. Can you tell me what it is please. Thank you.
Barbara Hines , I use a small bottle water I put water in it and Dawn dish liquid just a little bit and then I spray it on my stamp and use a lint free rag and wipe it off it works great for me
These grid template sheets work great with the misti, sturdier than the transparency, you can cut different sizes. www.createforless.com/Template-Plastic-Sheets-by-Collins-8-1/2-x-11-in.-With-Grid-6-pc/pid7468.aspx?CAGPSPN=pla&CAWELAID=1439795835&catargetid=530001980000043867&cadevice=c&gclid=CPegx7n7m8QCFdgIgQodoo4Azg

Just got my MISTI today. This is a fabulous video! Thank you so very much.
That was a excellent review and I especially enjoyed the portion about using a diecut and the stamp together thanks for figuring that out for me!
The name speaks for its self. I LOVE LOVE it. Have not stoped using since I got it.
Well-done.
Best wishes,
Joanne
After watching your video I purchased the Misti. Thanks for getting me off the fence of not being to make up my mind.
What a great tutorial!!! I appreciate all of the ideas that you shared on the benefits of this tool - helps justify it! 😉
I have been eyeing this when looking to purchase new stamps, and I think it is on my "to get" list! Thanks for sharing.
I went to the website, but couldn't afford it right now. The products made in USA are of exceptional quality, unfortunately the manufacturing process become so expensive for the sellers that they can't provide lower (not cheap) prices to consumer. Thanks again.
I just got mine today and can't wait til the weekend to play with it!
I'm so excited I ordered mine about an hour ago from Sweet Petunia. I hope it doesn't take too long to ship. :)

great video....I am loving my MISTI (I ordered it in Dec and got it in Jan)
Great tutorial, Darlene! Thanks so much!
Loved your video. If I was to purchase this, would you say I won't need my stamp-a-ma-jig?
Liz Hodge Hi Liz. I still use my stamp-a-ma-jig for wood mounted stamps and stamps that are cling rubber with foam.
Liz Hodge So this product is mainly for polymer stamps?
Liz Hodge Sorry I just noticed your question! It's for everything but wood-mounted stamps, so acrylic, silicone, photopolymer, and cling rubber with foam.
Darlene DeVries Thanks, Darlene!
You mentioned it is made in USA, which = high customer service, historically a trade mark of any product made in United States. May be a little bit pricey, but you have a quality product and a company that cares about customers satisfaction.

BTW, great video, thank you.
Love mine too. Got it on Monday. Good review/ tutorial.
Thanks for all the tips and reviews...
Wow I love this tool!! Thanks for the great review..I will get one, and for those who think it costs too much I live in Australia and it is double price here but I think it looks worth it this tool will take the guess work out of lots of stamping techniques!!
I agree with the name of this tool. It is truly the most amazing stamping tool invented. I love mine!!!!
thank you for sharing 😃 I'm convinced to buy one now, ive been thinking about getting one of those.
HI I JUST WATCHED YOUR VD I WAS WONDERING HOW YOU GOT YOUR GRID?? THANKS WENDY
i have seen a few videos on this product and really like it but the price is to much for me. Thank you for a great demo!

So... not sure what size to buy first.
I think I'll buy the big one, then eventually get the mini. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly Darlene! I'll be watching you!
is there a website for downloading the transparency? Or can you use a piece of acetate and print one with an ink-jet printer?
Yes, you can download it from My Sweet Petunia: mysweetpetunia.com/v/vspfiles/downloadables/GRID_DOWNLOAD.pdf. I had mine printed at Kinko's on transparency.
thank you
great video where do I purchase it from
Your tutorial is really enlightening, thank you
I love this. Hope I can buy one in the UK
Hello, Do you think that there is good customer service for everyone or only as a result that you are a experienced card maker who is on UA-cam? Thank you.
I think Iliana strives to provide great service to everyone.
I'm sold.Lol.. i want one now.. Lol . At first I wasn't, but what sold me was @14.25.. i love that idea! Because i have a hard time making sure my flowers match right over the first.
I appreciate this tutorial..I like the idea that if it doesn't stamp right the first time.it will the second.
Great video! Can I ask what the name of the heart background stamp u showed? I love it ;)
+Rosemary Bryson Hi Rosemary. It's SSS Drawn Hearts: shrsl.com/?~7ka0
Thank you so much for the review. I dont understand why the hinges are made of plastic instead of iron. It looks very fragile to me and you would expect more sturdiness for such an expensive tool.
That's really a nice tool to work with. Thanks for the video.
Love this machine!!!!! How do you get it>?????? You're kind of a little OCD like me. :)
designmycard54 You can get it at Sweet Petunia: mysweetpetunia.com/shop/
I am giving one away this week on my blog. Details here: darlenedesign.com/wordpress/?p=8550

graciela guadalupe guzman batalla It's called Vintage Roses by Altenew.
Thank you for such a detailed review.
I so want one but its just a little to much then I can afford right now but I am going to have to save up for this b/c this is amazing b/c I can never stamp straight. Thank you for showing this video.
where can I buy extra magnetic for my misty?
Thank you for the great info...Pat
I was thinking of purchasing until I saw the price. Why so expensive? It is a cool tool, though.
Fantastic!
Does anyone know when MISTI 2 is coming out?
What if you used Staz on ink and you got it on the plates?
Stazon cleaner is not recommended because it could strip away the printed grid lines if left on the tool.
I need this tool
Would the staz ink stain it?
Excellent tutorial
Where can i get a MITSY?
Where did you find that grid that you had printed?
It's on the Sweet Petunia web site: mysweetpetunia.com/downloads/
Darlene DeVries

Why so expensive?? Some people are saying its $50?? hmmm
Thal u. This is a great review of this product.
What cleaner do you use to clean your stamps?
+Barbara Hines Hi Barbara. I use an Absorber with water: amzn.to/1FgzDLL
+Darlene DeVries In the video you specify a liquid stamp cleaner you prefer over all others. I just can not catch the name. Can you tell me what it is please. Thank you.
+Barbara Hines I watched the video again and I used baby wipes in this video (what I used before I got the Absorber).
Barbara Hines , I use a small bottle water I put water in it and Dawn dish liquid just a little bit and then I spray it on my stamp and use a lint free rag and wipe it off it works great for me
awesome !! thanks for sharing !
Where can I purchase the Misti?
Naticris Tellavi At My Sweet Petunia: mysweetpetunia.com/shop/
GREAT review!!
I purchased one and it is nice - but ridiculously expensive for what it is
$50.00 is a hell of a lot to pay for this tool. You'd have to sell a lot of cards to pay for just this thing.
_such a good product. i wish i had it. :)_
I GUESS IT'S YOUR TRANSPARENT SHEET..THANKS
good video
These grid template sheets work great with the misti, sturdier than the transparency, you can cut different sizes. www.createforless.com/Template-Plastic-Sheets-by-Collins-8-1/2-x-11-in.-With-Grid-6-pc/pid7468.aspx?CAGPSPN=pla&CAWELAID=1439795835&catargetid=530001980000043867&cadevice=c&gclid=CPegx7n7m8QCFdgIgQodoo4Azg
looks like a great tool, but with the high price I will stick to what I have .
Yuk on the MISTI too bad it doesn't stay together.
Don't buy if you live in a dry heat. Backing comes off. Cheaply made.
Worth the high cast a mazing most have stamping tool
