This video helped A LOT. I’m trying to buy my boyfriend a system for his birthday and had no idea what any of this means. The video was easy to follow and simple enough so I could understand. Thank you!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Amazing video dude. Ive bee looking for a gaming monitor for 2 weeks and been so confused. In 11 minutes you have blown my mind. Going shopping now. Thanks again!
Excelent video! I'm just a bit disappointed that a good video like this didn't mention that 99% of response times listed on retailer and manufacturer specifications do not represent reality at all, and should be outright ignored when purchasing. This is very important, and VESA is in fact issuing new testing standards like ClearMR to address that exact problem, but this standard is not widespread as of yet, which is why you should actually check 3rd party reviews and testers for realistic response times of your monitor
Well this video was very helpful because I just got my first PC today and all I need is a monitor thanks for the helpful information you just made my life easier.
Dude, this is such a great vid. I've referred others to it before, and I genuinely do not feel the need to make a video covering this topic because you did such a fantastic job with it. Well done, man!
YOOOOO!!! This was extremely helpful and I can walk away from this video knowing what I want from a monitor for my new desk setup for my PS5! Greatly appreciate it
4:49 I didnt know that... so its waste of money to look for hz if not play any game. Im not into gaming, I only look for gaming monitor because any electronic related to gaming must be the best... thanks now I can save few bucks
I bought 240hz 1080p for competitive gaming and I don't play multiplayer games anymore except for co op games with friends.. I suggest going for 4k gaming monitor or TV with adaptive sync even if your games output 60fps in 120hz or higher hertz monitor you will see benefits with g sync turned on
Really love this video - very simple to understand and helpful! As someone who uses Outlook and MS word and other applications in the MS suite extensively for reading contracts every day, the G27Q and it's BGR subpixel layout made reading text terrible. So unfortunate because it really excels in every other category for the price.
thanks dude, this is the most informative and understandable video on all the vastness of youtube that I found. more subscribers for you and continue in the same spirit
Are Dell gaming monitors good? I just picked up a Dell G3223d, 1440p, 32", 144hz, and I love it! I had the Samsung Odyssey G7 1440p, 244hz, 32" before, but it died after 5 months. I feel like Dell units are more reliable. Is this true?
27inch 2k is really sweet spot u get so much sharp crisp image and details + There are so many gpus right now which can handle 1440p just fine + upscaling features like fsr dlss tsr makes quite boost in performance
Just bought a LG Ultragear 24GN650-B (24" FHD 144hz 1ms) for $195 and i couldn't be happier with my purchase. Im using a gaming laptop with GTX 1650 so i don't wanna buy a 1440p since it couldn't handle 3A games on that res so this is the sweetest spot for me at least.
I recently got my Philips 27M1N3200VA (1080p, 27 inches, 165 Hz, VA panel) monitor I bought on Black Friday, which cost 190 euros, I live in Germany; works like a charm! :D
I had to watch 5 yt videos just to get the simplified points you made here! Good job and keep it up! Might have helped also if you differentiated Panel types. But for those who are curious, I think IPS Panels are best 🙌🏻
Need to find a new monitor because my Sceptre one died two days ago. Little did I know Sceptre monitors had shady quality control, reject parts, and short lifespans. Luckily, I'll be able to shoot for some higher specs this time, this vid helped a lot!
Yesterday , i actually was panicking about buying a freesync monitor ( vg24vqe asus tuf ) while my gpu is a GTX 1660 Super , i asked a lot of people and none of them gave me a clear answer , and you popped up from nowhere and explained that to me . Thanks buddy
Damn that’s a good deal I’ve been doing a lot of research recently and it all came down between that and the Asus VG28 version I got my VG28 for $550 and then it sold out on amazon a few days later The M28U was still over $600 at the time
Great video covering the topic. I have used triple 27" 60Hz monitors for years and going for a decent upgrade on my PC & monitors this year. I'm going Intel I9 12900K with 3090 or 3080ti, price depending. What would you suggest for monitors on this setup? I'm still thinking 27" x3 - 1440 with 165 refresh rate. But will the 3090/3080ti be able to take the inputs and run decent FPS?
Glad you enjoyed the video! What you are planning is perfect. I run a 3070 Ti on a triple monitor setup (1440p 144hz) and if I'm not streaming while gaming on a game like Warzone I'll pull around 120fps. One of our Discord mods has a 3090 in his system and he'll pull 140-150fps. So it depends on the game (Fortnite you'll pull higher frames) so the specs you listed for those monitors would be PERFECT in my book. Join our Discord and post pics once you get it setup! Would love to see it!
@@TechAuditTV Thanks for the supportive reply. My main worry was the display ports but I think it comes with x3 display ports and x1 2.1 hdmi. I use VR as well so gonna have to figure it all out once I build it. PC part picker I'm using for the build and got the z690 - 32g ddr5 ram and other parts already mentioned including cooler fans, lianli caseXL for 1900 which I don't think is bad. Then just need to source the best card I can get. Will upload on my channel once its built. Not going water cooling other than on cpu.
would be nice if they made a monitor that is aimed at content creator by day, gamer by night. I want a 32inch monitor at 4K and atleast 1000hdr, color accurate, etc without breaking the bank preferable.
Very well explained for the new, upcoming PC gamers. Definitely will suggest this video to anyone who has questions. Thank you! You helped me decide on a monitor. Looking at a 27" Predator Gaming Monitor. Gsync. 165hz. 0.5ms. WQHD. $429.99.
I’m a complete noob, never even owned a gaming pc, can barely type on a keyboard haha and your right I now understand what I thought was a foreign language, thanks man!
For what i have been researching, the perfect monitor does not exists, unless you pay 500+dlls. Either the monitor has ghosting, backlight bleeding, lack of accuracy in colors, not true HDR, not very good g sync, flickering, the monitor behaves weird depending on what gpu you have, latency, dead pixels, weird sounds, no in-built speakers, poor contrast, low quality UI buttons, poor tilt, height adjustment, mounting or non existent, and many other stuff that I`m forgetting. I really don't know what to buy anymore.
I will be buying a new desktop computer, which I'm still trying to decide on. It will be for myself and my 12 year old son who likes to play Minecraft, Zelda tears of the Kingdom, and I will be puting the Sims 4 on it for myself and I also play Tears of the Kingdom. In the future we may add some more games so keep that in mind. Based on what I've told you so far what monitor would you recommend and if you do have a recommendation on a PC desktop gaming computer it needs to be under $1,200. Thank you for any time you spend answering my questions I really appreciate it hope to hear from you soon as I will be doing this fairly soon since Black Friday sales are on now.😊
Good review thx!! looking for 32" budget $800. I play 1st person, strategy and star citizen like games. so far Odyssey G7 or Gigabyte M32U. Don't like ghosting, should I consider 244Hz?
Bought a gaming monitor an hour before seeing this video, but it worked out because i bought one with exactly the specs you recommended for the sweet spot! I did have a question about how clear a 1080p 27" monitor would be, as I read somewhere that it is where the 1080p starts to not be as great?
I have a 480p one its my main monitor but I have not bought a 720 or above but 480 isn't to bad for me so if you do not like yours i recommend getting 480p i do not know if it is better but its pretty expensive like 100 bucks but its pretty good.
Hi man nice and helpful video i got this laptop Razer Blade 15.6" Gaming Laptop - 144Hz Full HD Thin Bezel - 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8750H 6 Core - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Max-Q - 16GB RAM - 512GB SSD - Windows 10 Is there any 27-32 monitors you recommend in the 200 range price
Hey man idk if u reply to comments but I have a question I bought a monitor it’s 1ms 165hz QHD 1440 and it’s 39 inches curved it covered a lot of good but I wanted to know if since it’s bigger will it not be as good
Constructive criticism here. In the beginning of the video you said you would give me an understanding of what the monitor naming scheme means, but you talked about resolution, refresh rate, response time and didn’t touch in the naming scheme at all. I already know what I’m looking for as far as specs but I don’t know the difference between 1a and 1b in the naming, idk what VG means for Asus or what qfd or qrf means. LG for instance has a gl850a and gl850b
Loved your video, this helped me out a lot! But still wondering if these requirements also work for combining gaming with editing in Adobe etc. Might someone have something to add to pay attention to?
I am in the market and am very confused, with so many options. Budget is $600-$700. Looking for at least 30-32 inches. I have some eye sight issue so I heard curved is better since our eyes are naturally curved I am a console gamer, i mostly play single player story driven games. Any recommendations? Also do I need HDMI 2.1? Or would 2.0 be sufficient for next generation consoles (XSX/PS5) so a FreeSync monitor would be better since current consoles have AMD cards right? Love to hear it!
The verdict you gave "sweet spot" is the monitor I was hesitating to buy was researching. Way to go mate
Buying my first PC and first monitor, this video really helped explain it, and straight to the point as well. Thank you.
Which monitor you bought?
You forgot to talk about panel types. IPS, VA, and TN.
Excelent video! Nice video. Good buying guide with more general guidelines to look for rather than a few specific suggestions
Well this video was very helpful because I just got my first PC today and all I need is a monitor thanks for the helpful information you just made my life easier.
I like the way this video was editted. Allowing us time to screenshot tips 💯
And I though 6 inches was big
Brandon doing the lords work and giving the people some easy to follow info on decoding monitor specs. Nice!
Why is this the best breakdown I’ve seen and, more importantly, why is it not the first in search?? Great video.
i so badly want whole set up pc snd everything, and i don’t understand anything about this world and this video was so helpful, thank you so much!! :)
Excellent video man ❤️❤️❤️❤️. i searched literally 50+ videos then find yrs.It cleared all my doubts.thanks man 🥳🥳
Thank you this was very helpful for a first time buyer.
You bet! Anything for the Escobar family.

I also feel like I should apologize for many of my videos being 30+ minutes long 😅
Much appreciated man! Means a lot coming from you! I keep having other creators tell me I need to go longer 😂

Mannnn...though you did focus on gaming applications, this is by far the 2nd best video on monitors l've seen on UA-cam!(behind The Tech Chap).
I was not looking at the screen during the intro.. the 72 inches sweet spot completely got my attention.
This video deserves ALOT more praise😭.. this man saved me SOOOO MUCH MONEY.
THANK YOU.

G27Q is not BGR . You are talkin about M27Q i think. G27Q is litteraly all in one.
G27Q is RGB and it's awesome.

Any problems with pixalation? i'm considering if i should get a 27 or 24 inches 1080p monitor. The price difference between the two is insignificant.
Really needed this thank you.

Agreed!

the best explanation about choosing monitor. tqvm..

holy, this is everything i needed to understand. thank you great video
Is still dont understand the response time what is better 1ms or 5ms 😅
Dude best guide hands down! Bro! 🙌🏼💪🏼 thanks for the info!

Best monitor video I watch so far
Beautiful break down brother ❤️
I usually agree with your assessment of 4k monitors but when I saw the Gigabyte M28U on sale for 479, I just couldn’t resist.

I have a Predator z35 and the ghosting is disgusting. Would avoid.

nice video for anyone looking to buy a new monitor
What would you suggest based on your base line of 27 / 1440p / 144hz / going up a notch or 2 using an RX 6800XT GPU ? Thanks
Wow I feel like an expert. Thank you so much

"It's crazy what difference 3 inches makes" I know..
I am in the market and am very confused, with so many options. Budget is $600-$700. Looking for at least 30-32 inches. I have some eye sight issue so I heard curved is better since our eyes are naturally curved
I am a console gamer, i mostly play single player story driven games. Any recommendations?

HDR 10+ or HDR600?
I basically have the same situation right now, with the same budget and also a console player (Ps5) although i mostly play fgs.
