Wow, never realised how many times she had tried. Her 2023 entry though is leagues ahead of the rest, though her vocals have always been insane.
Really? Somehow my impression was that her vocals improved massively and this year was nearly a whole different singer than at the start.
@@watchnocatch171 I agree, she's definitely grown as both a singer and performer. She looks and sounds scared in the first few performances. Seeing as it's been about 15 years it's understandable she's evolved and become a much better vocalist.

Yes, I prefer her version to the one that went to Eurovision.
Her version was better than the eventual winner.
She needed that break from pre-2015 to come up with some soulful music.
These types of videos is actually quite inspiring, seeing people not give up and improve, gaining confidence and charisma! :) Her ESC-entries are probably the best, but I actually do love "Baby boy". Remember liking it back then too, and being sad she withdrew.
I love how she just went through every genre possible to finally get a good placement

Do Aistė Pilvelytė. She has parcicapated in the national selection 14 times! And she got 2nd place some of the times. It's crazy!
I want to have her same determination for trying 14 times with mediocre to useless songs without any victory and still not stopping trying
@@giovanniscg8540 yeah! Some of her songs were actually mid but for example this year's song was definitely a song.
*I've read somewhere, she said she will try to represent Lithuania at Eurovision right until she won the NF even if she is 80 years old!* 😅

she also was supposed to compete in the 2022 selection with "See you again" but withdrew before the start of the NF because of illness again

Good for her to keep trying! She is always amazing but 'Stay' is leagues ahead and its brilliant to see that she won't give up. Especially if she gives us more songs like Stay.
Stay is crap and it won in a very dubious undemocratic way

not attention being the same entry but in a other way-
If you go to the 60s and 70s in Finnish Eurovision national finals, there's always the same 3-4 singers in the finals. For example, Laila Kinnunen, Marion Rung and Katri Helena.
Katri Helena is especially fascinating because she tried for the first time in 1965 and finally represented Finland in 1979. Also she's a legend in Finland

Sometimes countries have done these really weird and horrid national selections where they only have one or two songs, and multiple artists have to interpret it themselves. So essentially, everybody's performing a cover. They're never good.

You missed the original song in 2015 - Skęstu. That year artists competed separately from their songs. She won as an artist but her song lost. Still one of my favorites of hers. UA-cam title for reference "Atlikėja Monika Linkytė pasirodė su daina „Flying“ („Skęstu“)"
sidenote, weird translation as Skęstu means drowning while they translated the exact opposite?..
She was 22 in 2015 and 14 in 2007 yet she still performed

I think technically, in some of these years, she had like 10 different entries, since they used to have a selection of songs and get each of their artists to perform them on different weeks.
Her "No More Tears" in 2015 is my favourite of hers. It's one of my favourite national final songs of that year.

You forgot about 2022, where she withdrew as well, if you don't have an audio to her supposed entry, then just have a picture of her with the name of her entry on, plus year, withdrew, etc. And yes I believe, her version of attention is much better than that of Ieva or Iveta or whatever her name was. It probably would have even qualified.

Nope. She supposed to be there but the withdraw happened that early that we can't count that as a start

2014 wasn't her fault, Attention was a horrible song in all of their versions, also it was interesting, to see Vaidas and Monika losing to Vilija, and a year after, both winning and achieving a way better result; Iconic to see her getting even Better with Stay, she deserved the top10
