  • Singing starts around 49 seconds in but wanted to use the full track to be accurate to the session tapes.
This is not one of those use software to remove other tracks isolated vocal things. This is the actual complete track used in the final mix from the original 16 track master reels.
This is also back in the day singing live on tape no autotune BS so have some respect for people who used to do it the live and not expect to be bailed out by technology. These are likely live vocals with a punch in here or there...
See my other listing for John Lennon's background vocal track.
The faint audio you hear is the bleed from his headphones into his microphone while he sings. This track also has half the VSO vocal effect section, the other half is on the lead vocal track so they could pan it left and right in the mix.
This track has one of my favorite bits at the end where he says "cha cha f*king cha" after the take.
If I don’t get grief for putting this up or people ask for more I can maybe put up another track or two from the session. Yes, I have all 16 original tracks used for the final mix and no I wont send them to you or tell you why I have them.
Pretty rare bit of Bowie here so wanted to share with his fans for educational and entertainment purposes. You may need headphones to really hear everything on the track.

I can't believe this has been up for nearly a month and no-one's asked for the full Bowie vocal - so let me be the first. Those AI filtered isolations don't come close to the real deal. It's interesting to hear the Bowie vocals recorded dry here - it backs up what's said that, pre-Young Americans, Bowie had normally added any vocal effects at the front end, not at the mixing stage, and that he wasn't used to hearing his raw singing voice. Favorite part has to be his "ribbit!" in the middle of the scat section. Thanks for sharing - this is gold.

Yah I hear you and you aren't the first to ask but gets into some grey area if too much is out... maybe I can put up a small piece of it. I don't want the full thing out, then all the vocal tracks are out there and someone could do whatever with those.
Maybe I'll cherry pick a few shorter edited things from other tracks at some point. The guitars actually take up allot of tracks and those are pretty cool to hear individually.
