Hi! I was somehow recommended to this channel, and after watching a couple of your videos, I feel your advice is genuine and honest. I am reviving my channel which I had since 2011, and a lot of the advice can be overwhelming. I appreciate your honest input
This is really good advice. I'm a small channel with over 300 videos and I only have 400ish subs. I often struggle with the finding that the balance with between CTR and engagement. It has taken me every bit of 4 years to get this. Part of my problem is that I somehow confused the algorithm I think :)
It can be SUPER tricky! And I know what you mean. A lot of very interesting channels have a difficult time gaining traction because they're so unique and the algorithm gets confused. The good news is that they do AWESOME once they break out. But yeah... breaking out is TOUGH.
Yes! Viewer psychology is HUGE -- the algorithm is often a simulation of the audience (mathed out by UA-cam in a way that they can sell maximum ads). But because the algorithm is BASED on how they think the audience will act (and how YT wants them to act), understanding viewer psych gets you a long way. Great comment -- thanks for watching!
@@ByPageTurner Thanks for your interesting answer to my comment. I agree with you: understanding viewer psych (our own psych also) get's us a good clarity. It's as always: only mind based. Have a fabulous week. Much love 💕 Matthias 👋
While I'm not trying to be a full time content creator, I do want to get a regular audience for my streams. I really appreciate you sharing this content. Thank you!
just came across your video, i love it, your honesty, authenticity and interesting studies. Being a new youtuber is an incredibly difficult journey and no one really tells you the extent of this - it involves a lot of learning and unknown territory and mindset and selfcare issues - your info is refreshing and i am glad to share your journey - thank you and blessings.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼💯💯
Thisss 👏🏾 it can feel almost impossible to get anywhere at the very beginning and you just outlined exactly why 😭 what I keep telling myself if that most successful (big) channels started from zero so if they can do it, so can we !
Man, this is sooo true! I just started a new channel and it’s a STRUGGLE 😅 My original channel gets 8K views on day 1, then I post a video of the same quality on the new channel and no one clicks on it 😂 Plus, the algorithm shows it to like 8 people but still 💀 I love your channel btw and excited to watch you grow!!! ❤ I like your brain 🧠
Great info. Just subscribed. I am still trying to figure this thing out little by little. i do notice that it seems the more subscribers a channel has, the more they grow. Sucks to be a small channel.
To be honest, the name of your channel seems to be one of the least important factors in its success strictly on UA-cam. That said, there's an argument to be made that your brand is important beyond UA-cam, potentially expanding to other platforms, working with sponsors, etc. Pick something you like and hopefully something easy to spell and remember and that should suffice. But as far as the algorithm is concerned, you could call it pretty much anything (YT cares more about your videos than the channel name).
There's one point that you might be missing. And a crucial one. ALL channels were once small. Every single channel started at zero. And it's not like all the big channels on UA-cam started 10 years ago. Some are growing right now, at this very moment. Yeah, It would take a lot of hard work to grow, but we are all playing on the same field. There's no such thing as "easy work" anywhere. And it's not like if you are an established creator on the platform, UA-cam will launch all your new stars right to the stars. I have three channels, and while the first one is doing good at the moment (though it took him a year and a half to start moving), I'm struggling a lot with the other two. So there are no "secrets" to disclose, no "big channel & YT conspiracy." It's all about your work, creativity, and will to continue and evolve. Because in a world where everybody is evolving as fast as possible, you will get lost in the void if you don't. And we also may need to define "hard". But that's a whole new topic ) Maybe I'm giving you idea for new video now: what does it mean, "to work hard"? How hard should you work, if you expect a good revenue from your channel? say, in a first year? That's a really good question )
You're also in a sea of other people making videos that want to be seen. Its luck of thw draw if you get noticed but I have seen more small channels getting shown on my feed more than usual so yes UA-cam is promoting smaller channels more.
Yup its the numbers that viewers see first .. 1M vs 100 Subs has a huge impact. .. Subbing here to give you your 300th subscriber. Small youtube creator struggles are real. It will be interesting to see how your channel grows and will come back to this comment one day :).

You are absolutely right!!!!
It's not so much the Algorithm, but way more peoples psychology.
Lot's of success here!
Much love 💕

It's consoling and calming! Thank u for the succinct reasons for small UA-camr struggles

Sure thing! Glad to help
Thanks for the pep talk I started my cannel last September up to 62 subscribers but very happy for them and cant wait for more.
Nice! Yes, definitely good to be proud of how far you've come.

Yes! It's true. It's DIFFICULT but not IMPOSSIBLE. Those are very different things. You nailed it 🎯

Aww thank you so much! I really appreciate the kind words. Stuff like this keeps me going on the tough days, for sure.
this was super interesting, thanks for sharing!
You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed it!
Dude. This is really good and well put together
Thanks!
Good luck to you, The struggle is real but can be lots of fun as well.
Yes! It's a blast sometimes. Thanks for watching.
GREAT INFORMATION 😊
Aww thanks
Nice Job - Keep Moving!
Thank you!
@@ByPageTurner - Sure... you're welcome!
Another great video, keep bringing us your knowledge
Aw thanks! Glad you enjoyed it
Yes you are correct lot of subs and a lot of views people will click on it. Great video
Thank you.
It isn't the ONLY factor of course... but people pretend it doesn't matter at all. And it does.
I like this one even better than the other. More engaging :)
Oh good! Glad to hear it. I'm enjoying making these. These are questions I get a lot when running my other platforms.
Great info. Just subscribed. I am still trying to figure this thing out little by little. i do notice that it seems the more subscribers a channel has, the more they grow. Sucks to be a small channel.
It definitely is difficult to get momentum at the beginning. It's not just you. Thanks for watching!
The best small UA-cam channel in the universe ! Hey! I would even say the multiverse !
Oh you hahaha -- thanks, hope you're having a good one.
@@ByPageTurner still trying and putting out content. My last was very emotional. Bring tissues.
I honestly like the (I assume) royalty-free bird music.
Yeah, the birds don't get any royalties -- other than birdseed. :)
God bless
Any advice on changing channel name & handle if you decide to change your content slightly?

I talk about this topic more in my other videos (one example): ua-cam.com/video/mRwzx62FW8Q/v-deo.htmlsi=8AbfaSbDEv4DBkWf

Yeah, it does seem like they made some changes last year to promote small channels more. Thanks for watching.
