As a homeowner, I've seen the value of my house almost double in the last couple of years. Sadly, property taxes have done the same or worse. Really hoping state legislature fixes the ridiculous property tax amounts.

And it's only mid July and today's heat index is up to 110 at 2pm!

Downtown San Antonio needs lots of update improvement. The focus is drawn towards the riverwalk. There is noting but old buildings, to include one current blue building with spikes FROST BANK is a sore eye. All around the downtown jail area lots of homeless people, it also carries lots of older buildings. San Antonio may have new homes around certain areas, but the downtown area needs improvement above the riverwalk.

Frost Bank Tower is the only cool building downtown. What drugs are you on?

Correct -- the downtown area does not reflect a city of 2.5 million whatsoever. The problem here is city council who are stuck in the 60s thinking that new construction cannot coexist with the old. San Antonio needs a skyline resembling that of Houston or Dallas and still maintain it's Riverwalk with the old buildings as well. The entire downtown triangle needs to be gentrified and updated to include a skyline that is topped by the Tower of Americas at one end and numerous tall glass structures at the other end. The Frost Building's glass is nice but it's height makes it stubby - hence, it blends in sorely alongside the other existing choppy low rise buildings. Although Austin took the lead on building a skyline, it failed to add variation and color - the entire Austin skyline now looks grey and monotone. The SA City Council needs to "Grow Up" and realize that both new and old can stand in harmony versus replicating the same old blocky style that has no longer represented SA for a long time now.

@@keeganbrown9967 It doesn't add to the downtown whatsoever as it lacks in height to make a real difference.

Luxury homes are frequently low inventory in SA…the demand is there because supply is always low. Property Tax are the biggest deterrent to luxury property ownership in TX. Most people that are cashing out on luxury properties in SA are doing so due to high property tax that jumped yet again this year…

SA peaked in the 90’s. It has been declining in quality since 2000.

It’s a good thing if you already have a mortgage. Home values go up, more workers come in, they need a home and can afford what yours is worth, then it becomes a money thing. Bidding wars start, and then you as the homeowner takes the highest bid. So you could move else where if needed. I don’t foresee this for another 10 years though.

It’s the size of a walk in closet
This is bad for folks like me
