Has anyone ever noticed the faces of the audience? The pride and joy in their faces says it all...Beautiful music will always remain timeless and magic.
I know everyone hates nationalism but this celebrates Irish nationalism and is very beautiful!.
shame half of them cant hellp but sing alone, selfish inconsiderate people.
You don't really understand irish culture. Much of our culture is based around the pub sing-song, where somebody sings a song and everybody joins in. For an upbeat song like this the group want the audience to sing along. This shows that they know the songs and that they are enjoying themselves by taking part. Now for other songs such as Ave Maria then the audience should be quiet. Nothing wrong with singing along just has to be with the right song.
@@tuff8000 you got no idea how much fun it is singing allong in the crowd during these classic songs of theirs... honestly you aint a fan if you dont... when i sang orinoco flow i was in front row and Chloe saw me her smile was so big!! i think for a artist if people sing your songs like this it means allot to them so they know its good music and you enjoy it!!
Exactly. They *want* you to sing along.
I thought it was brilliant how many in the audience actually know the chorus of this.
Especially since that part, a lot of the people probably learned from either Irish or Scottish tradition, not from Celtic Woman.
Wow. Lovely. 😍
I'm sorry, but did Mairead just run on the stage and litterally bounce while not missing a note on her fiddle...SHE ROCKS!!!! Like Tinkerbell changed into a real person! and given hyper-violin-playing chops!!!
I've said it before,,, the girl has just WAY to much fun lol
Terry Jaster Love That It's not only I who see TinkerBell in real.
she even performed a songs in a Tinkerbell CD & DVD. : )
+Steven Ware oh yes you did. Mairead moves and plays the violin at the same time. That is a Mairead Nesbitt trademark. She's always moving. The only way to keep her from moving would be to put her in plaster or cement so she can only move from the arms up. I wonder how much hair she loses on tour from playing the violin.(it gets stuck in the bow or strings and gets pulled out per Mairead N)
+drmayeda1 Somebody suggested that she may use her hair stringing her bow, her music is so sweet??? :))
Mike Rogers
Only by accident. She uses a very expensive type of horse hair for exra heavy useage Her main bow is custom made.
Every culture across the globe has its own music tradition. But explain to me why the folk music of the Irish and the Scots is so exceptionally beautiful and emotionally gratifying.
Because we needed some emotional support music during our darker times 🤨
I honestly don’t know why it’s this way for our music as I’m from Ireland and it’s a mystery which eludes me
Because the Celtic people have a long tradition and pride in their ancestry which is expressed in the music
Because us in the UK Celtic in our blood and veins, the Celtic nations only have 5 Celtic languages left out of 17 the rest are dead. In the UK we are the 5 Celtic nations left.i would love to learn gealic ❤
I believe that it's comes from the hundreds of year's of oppression and denial of the language and heritage.
The British suppressed anything and everything that they could after defeating them in multiple war's. They forced everything into the underground.
Irish and Scottish people are the only people who can sing. When God gave out the singing voices, Ireland and Scotland and possibly Wales got the lot. But that's good. Makes it easier to find good music.🇦🇺♥️
Mo Ghile Mear" (My Gallant Darling) is an old Irish song, written in the Irish language by Seán Clárach, Mac Domhnaill in the 18th century.
By the 1700's, the old Gaelic order in Ireland and Scotland was crumbling before the advances of the colonizing English. The hopes of both peoples rested with Prince Charles Stuart, "Bonnie Prince Charles." He is the "gile mear" of the song.
For a while I was a gentle maiden
And now a spent worn-out widow
My spouse ploughing the waves strongly
Over the hills and far away.
He is my hero, my dashing darling
He is my Caesar, dashing darling.
I've had no rest from forebodings
Since he went far away my darling.
The cuckoo sings not pleasantly at noon
And the sound of hounds is not heard in nut woods,
Nor summer morning in misty glen
Since he went away from me, my lively boy.
Noble, proud young horseman
Warrior unsaddened, of most pleasant countenace
A swift-moving hand, quick in a fight,
Slaying the enemy and smiting the strong.
nwk38 thanks! I always wondered about the lyrics.
Thank you so very much!
Thank you. This is a song of sorrow, a dirge. A woman lamenting the loss of her lover.
This makes me so proud of my Irish name
Thank you for this understanding, sir.

Dear Ireland please preserve your culture and language u r amazing, beautiful and fascinating.
Long live Ireland...!!
Love from India 🇮🇳
I now completely understand the lure of sirens. If they could sound half as good as this most men would follow them anywhere.
@Kaiser Wilhelm These voices aren't really sexual, they are beautiful.
@Kaiser Wilhelm well i know a few asexual men so they can't be wanting sex can they?
@Kaiser Wilhelm you can be attracted to something in a non sexual way
Sirens don't always sing of sexual acts. They sing of what the person wishes for most. For some sailors it was their wives and children calling them home. Others it was riches and fame. This means these women could very well be sirens who gave up their wings(as sirens were the bird women not the mermaids most people think they are)
HAHAHAHA RIGTH
I just love how Máiréad takes up the whole stage in every single performance she does. Jumping about, twirling around, skipping, it stains a smile on my face!
Now this is exactly how a full stage musical production should be performed. No slackers, no faded vocals, and every voice is perfectly coordinated into the theme of the song. Bravo, and brava, to all of the artists involved!
holywells You do know that they are lip syncing right?
Shelby Stevens They don't lip synch the actual performance, but anything put on DVD is synched to the album audio, which (to me) defeats the purpose of a live DVD. Thankfully I have seem them live once and it is much different and better that way.
I have seen them in person twice, and believe me their performances are flawless.
Stop complaining people. This song is beautiful, and they women in the group are wonderful performers and vocalists. People come and go and bring different talents, the group's singing is still beautiful and performances are still awes inspiring
+Little Light I agree with you. It matters not what the line up is, they all bring something to the table, just enjoy them for what they are and that is a concept not a group with a lasting line up
Same. I was hoping to find maybe some softness in the comments of such a timeless, beautiful performance. People will bitch about anything to the point where they don't want to do anything else. Honestly they're not worth it. Who is more true to the spirit of song and story -- those who whine about technicalities and cling so loyally to the way things used to be that they are hostile to anything different? or those who listen to the song and find their own meaning in it, who find new beauty in an ancient melody despite a fast-changing world of traditions, languages, and lineups? Songs and stories survive through generations and wars and famines by changing a little bit each time they are told. And the magic of them is that even over a thousand years or a thousand miles--their beauty can still be recognized by all kinds of people. They are rejuvenated and given new life that reflects the cultures and people they pass through. Every new voice that sings an old song adds a new color, a new story to the brilliant tapestry woven across countries and years. Over a thousand years or a thousand miles, the spirit of a song grows more complex and gains nuance… and through everything still burns as brightly as it did when it was first sung. This rendition is not "worse" just because it is new.
Totally agree but as humans we all have favorites that we miss. It's gauche to complain about it.
Charis Pinkerton my daughter is name Charis Maureen L. she lives in Iowa your right people need stop complaining.
who was complaining?
out of all the women who have been in this group, these three together are my all time fave!!!!!
This elegant group of ladies are my favorite ones of all the Celtic Woman members. I wish they would all come back. Their violinist in this group included for sure, she is amazing.
Someone commented that one of Mairead's dancing moveS looked LIKE something from Lord of the Dance.
Actually,Nesbitt broke into the wider world in 1996 when she was invited to perform in the Michael Flatley show Lord of the Dance There, she played lead fiddle until 1998, at which time she went with Flatley to his second show, Feet of Flames. She toured in this production, again as lead fiddler, until leaving in 2001. Nesbitt also played on the original soundtracks to both shows, as well as for the soundtrack to Riverdance.
So yes,her background is Lord of the Dance. The young lady hasn't missed a step bless her heart.
i remember her from the Lord of the Dance and I call her the Michael Flately on the Fiddle
@@ballthemblack but shes not a creep or lost her ego like Flatley... Mairead was always a sweetheart towards the fans and just performed because she purely enjoyed doing so!!!!
The way Mairead just explodes onto the stage in this one...I got chills.
My wonderful wife bought tickets for us as an anniversary present about four years ago, so we went to see The Girls in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The concert lasted over two hours, but seemed over too damn quickly, like in 10 minutes. I wept four times during the show, especially when they gave tribute to the U.S.A. It was overwhelming! They all are so beautiful and talented! If they ever come close to your home town, within 200 miles say, go see them! Don't hesitate! GO! Get blessed!
Couldn't wait to see from where Mairead would appear. When she came flying down the ramp at Slane Castle WOW!
I have the "A New Journey" DVD too, and I think that may have been CW's peak. Watching Mairead skip down that ramp can still improve my mood for hours. But this entrance, where she pops out as though launched from a catapult, is right up there with the original.
I just found these girls and I’ve been watching since 3 this afternoon and now it’s almost 9
I can’t get enough of Celtic Women and Celtic Thunder!
Oh this is beautiful, angelic and fascinating.....lot's of love and respect to Ireland and celtic women from India 🇮🇳
OMG!!! I pray so hard that this group of Celtic Woman find a way to do another concert in the US.
This is the culmination of talent, practice, artistry, and brilliance. It's polished and it's beautiful. What a show. Would love to see one live.
Actually planning on seeing them in my state this year, getting the tickets next week if there's any left!!! Hopefully you get to sometime as well!!
Anyone 2020 listening Celtic woman songs😍😍
Me ❤❤❤❤
Meee💚💚💚
yeahhhh.. me
Me
Meeee
Seriously though, why doesn't Disney get these women for their soundtracks? :/
Lisa Kelly sang If you Believe, a song from a Tinkerbell movie soundtrack, but yeah, Disney songs would be so much more awesome if Celtic Woman sang more of them
Mai Pham. Lisa Lambe should do a cover of touch sky from Brave.
Yes! Máiréad played violin on that score as well.
oh really?!?! I didn't know! She's such an integral part of Celtic Woman yet she's hard to notice outside of it as well.
She really has been. But did you see she left Celtic Woman over the summer to pursue her own career? They hired Tara McNeil to replace her. Meanwhile she just recently released her own solo album. I bought a copy and highly recommend it. Check it out! www.pledgemusic.com/projects/maireadnesbitt
Traditional gaelic ballads are so besutiful.. the haunting ambiance they create raises the hair on your neck...I know a few words/expression but that's about it...but these songs still move me deeply.. .the pain of these people who wrote them 100s of years ago still comes thru today....rven thru different arrangements and singers
Real men love Celtic Woman! Absolutely phenomenal!! You can tell when they are singing and playing they are doing it for the fun of it; it's not work to them. Aside from them singing beautifully, that is the biggest thing that attracts me to them as a listener. Hands down, best women's singing group in the world!!!! Great job ladies, keep it up!!!
Absolutely right sir you hit the nail right on the head
they are Irish angels, simply said. Is it just me or does anyone else notice that Mairead does sort of a "Lord Of The Dance" move with her leg sometimes. It makes sense because she was on the first shows. She is still the greates fiddler ever!!!
I have seen these wonderful performers sing live many times. I have been so very blessed & privileged to be a part of something so beautiful THANK YOU TO EVERY ONE... Of these performers. Blessings to you all as well. Glenn, A.K.A. The Rotten Rebel. 2-12-14
they spread so much positive energy i enjoyed these songs alot
The lighting was a show in itself.Blended perfectly with the song. Kudos to the lighting designer.
+nwk38 yeah. i love that when i go see them live. it's spectacular.
I love these girls. What a wonderful group of talented women. Can't wait to see them again.
That guy mouthing the words as Chloe sang is adorable, and I was right there with him, too!
I absolutely LOVE Máiréad's entrance! I have no idea how she makes that sound. I play violin; I doubt I could ever do what she does!!!
susan's voice blends beautifully with all of these girls..... so in laments terms great synergy between the ladies.
May Celtic music live forever
I love everything that all of the Celtic Woman performers have given us. They are truly wonderful.
I’m American but I have Irish ancestors & this just makes me proud of my heritage.❤️🍀
Chole looks great. Love when they sing Irish songs. This is one of my favorites. The violinist is magical!
I love the end!!!! lol. Lisa is so hyper!!
People fighting over their favorite lady, and I'm over here giving a "Squeee!" Every time I spot the adorable back up vocalists...
Actually, Mairead would be mine, but, you are right! The backups are quite nice too :D
+OPie9604 Chloë's mine!!!
@@thomasbullins2008 💚💖Lisa Kelly and Orla are my favorites, but they are *all* good. 💚💖
Ok, I know it's a different language, but the beginning sounds like a lion king-soundtrack. Everything in this song is beautiful!
I'd love to learn garlic language it's beautiful so much spirit in your culture
Grtting from Poland
lol, Garlic.
Its our native tongue ,its a love song in irish
I’d love to these four in concert! I wish they sung together still
I would love to see them with Celtic Thunder. Actually... with or without. Bucket list: Celtic Thunder and Celtic Woman... separately and together. Don't know if the together will ever happen though.
its the techies who run shows like these that give all the rest of us techies a good name!!! GO STAGE CREW :D
i have had the great privilege of seeing these lovely ladies in concert three times and each time was a very special event. they seem to have fun and to enjoy what they do. that and the way that they interact with the people sets them apart from any other singing group. so if you are able to see them in person please do so. i think you will be very surprised .
Amazing coordination by Mairead towards the end, when they're twisting side to side and she's playing the violin in perfect rhythm! How does she do that?? O_O
Lovely singers, beautiful violinist, fantastic song, great backup band, ecstatic audience... aahhh wish I was there !!
Oh I can sit and listen to Celtic Woman 4 hours and hours and the violin player is so out of this world I just love her to death
Who’s still listening in 2022? This is my favourite Celtic Woman song!
I’m in love with the redhead. 😍
Lisa Lambe is awesome!

There aren't enough words to describe how amazing these people are

Yes, yes, yes , yes. This one, Dulaman and Orinoco Flow are three of the greatest Celtic Woman classics.
Thank you Papaw for letting me listen to your family music and letting me love your ancestor music! One of my favorite songs! THANK YOU CELTIC WOMAN!!
61 people don't know what quality music is. XP
HarujiSubayama .
I'm so thankful I got to see this constellation of Celtic Woman live once.
Wonderful music and dance, Greetings from Saudi Arabia
Unbelievable! Magnificent! Fantastic!
I just love celtic music especially by Celtic women
I love them and this performance so much! I love my Irish Heritage it makes me proud I am Irish!♡
Things might have changed with CW but the class and energy is still the same,
"ELECTRIC" comes to mind Can't wait for them to come to Calgary March 22 I have front row left seats WOOHOO
That would be fantastic can't wait
I love you Celtic Women I love your songs that me and my family still sings your songs. I especially loved Mairead she was always favorite member of the group. I'm sad she's gone from Celtic Women.
I absolutely love this wonderful group! It had always been a dream for me to sing with these talented artists! What a great dream! May God bless them always!
Chloe makes me smile I'm really gonna miss her.
She does have her own music though. She and some of Celtic Thunder are doing an online special in March 2021 for $75. It starts on the 13th I believe.
well Chloe is back with CW until they find someone to take Eabha's place... i really hope the show happens next year so i can see her again!!
Is breá liom Éire ach is Polainnis mé
🇵🇱❤️🇮🇪
I love this line up of celtic woman so much. Máiréad especially as she and @twosetviolin inspired me to gain the courage to learn violin as adult.
OM MY GOD THAT'S IT!!!!! I. WANT. AND. NEED, TO. JOIN. THE. CELTIC.WOMAN. GROUP!!!!! No questions about it, I have to!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why must I be almost cursed in watching these amazing people have so much fun and do what they love on stage while I sit at home and waste my talents as a singer?? No worries ladies, I still love you and wish you everything good that comes your way, but SERIOUSLY, I want to join so, so, so, so, bad!!! Sorry for ranting all! :)
Why can't we here more of this beautiful music on the radio? Pop, Pop, Po, - that's all we get....
I love just how much fun Mairead and everyone else has while playing in concert, it's awesome. I wish I could go to see them.
The ladies of Celtic Woman have angelic voices. I would love to have my picture taken with them.
This was absolutely beautiful, and even though nothing can beat Mo Ghille Mear done by @UCDcnhh99zuRBWEKoKSsE7gg, this was a masterpiece in it's own way.
And, anyone can see how proud the Irish are when it comes to cultural music like this, I would be too. It is amazing.
Many greetings from Norway!
Has anyone else noticed that Susan does a head nod from the steps in the direction of where Máiréad bounces onto the stage? It maybe a que for her to start her part of the performance.
It is.
Love this song.
Always loved the pure clear sound of ur voices
Their sound is so unique...CRISP & CLEAR!
Lisa Lambe was so pretty in that dress😍😍 and her hair make her more beautiful...
I love this music. Its got such a relaxing music.
I can't wait to see them next weekend in Milwaukee. They're absolutely amazing.
I'm from Towanda, KS. And absolutely in love with these lady's, land n time
2 of my favorites, Chloe and Lisa!
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 Powerful powerful and such voices. Irish music really is connected to something deep.
Two mega trap sets going at it, then enters Mairead. Fabulous music and magical voices, all with big smiles on everyone’s faces, including the audience’s.
I love Susan’s voice!
So glad they kept this song and re-released it! My personal favorite!
Beautiful Music Harp is Beautiful too
AMO DEMAIS, TALENTO MARAVILHOSO, PARABÉNS!
The healing is in the sound; in the beginning was the word and the word was s o u n d!
AMAZING !!!!
Every time I hear this, my heart aches to be up on stage with them. I would give anything to sing along with them, ever for one song! ONE SONG, is that TOO much to WISH for???????? *sigh* One day, I'm coming to the stage, I HOPE SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
***** Thank you for the kind words!!! I needed to hear that! :D
+AGPMandavel sorry to butt in here. but red flags like what?
For me probably the new Susan/Lisa kelly
New?
Goodness, Celtic Woman has changed so much these past years :o Miss the original lineup some days...
I miss them too, but if Meav and Orla hadn't left, we wouldn't have seen Alex and Lynn, and if _they_ hadn't left we wouldn't have hot lil' Lambe, and if Lisa Kelly hadn't left, we wouldn't have Susan, who is as dazzling as Meav (see Home for Christmas). Now we've lost Chloe, which is the biggest hit CW has ever taken, but it's still Celtic Woman. At least until Mairead Nesbitt retires. Then it's over unless David knows another gorgeous violin virtuoso who dances like a Broadway showgirl. And while every new show is hailed as their best ever, IMO they never topped A New Journey. Orla and Hayley and Meav, oh my!
+Steve Rush They would find another violin player but she wouldn't be the same. It's a toss up who's loss would kill the group David Down or Mairead Nesbitt. I don't know about Orla but Maeve, Lisa K, Chloe, Lynn H, Alex would be my ideal lineup 5 singers and Mairead on violin
Mairead Nesbitt already left CW and Tara McNeill has replaced her I think :/
Say it ain't so, Máiréad's gone too? Hmm :/
unknowndeoxys00 Yup, Máiréad's gone for a solo career. CW is not gonna be the same without her :(
Tara is a great violinist, harpist, and a singer, but I don't know if she has the same energy as Máiréad :/
Love the wonderful fiddler ( violinst)
boy.... They do look like angels, not only sound like them.
One word: GORGEOUS.
I love Celtic music! could be cause my grandfather side is Irish!
Carrie Bowlen same lol
Wonderful Music .. just like a heart can beat !!!!!
Just watch the new Celtic woman show was so good I might watch it again tommow
