I like how you still use old devices efficiently that others would call nowadays obsolete. Really shows how even some of the oldest stuff has its uses.
Truth is! Old devices were made different in the bestvway possible because they last longer, much longer than today's devices smh.
Just because something is obsolete doesn't mean it ain't usable, sometime it might even be fun to go back to the old stuff

I'm a 90s generation guy but was still too young to understand trends and fashion back then, but have a memory about people dressing like you.

I'm impressed with the Walkman usage and tapes :). I went through several of those things and I'm 58. And cassette tapes. Well I was probably the last person on earth to move to CD's which was the next big evolution before MP3's and now streaming.

I'm also a big fan of the Porta Pro, I love everything about them including the price - really the best bang for the buck. I would recommend getting Yaxi Pads for Porta Pro for some thicker ear cushions though, also they come in a couple of different colorways for some customization if you so please.

Ask anyone who grew up using Walkmans in the 80s and 90s (as I did) what we prefer. 99% would prefer Wireless headphones + smartphone for the ease and convenience.

I’ve got the iPhone 13 pro max Sierra Blue it’s been absolutely amazing after 4 months
At my daughter's schools this year they been having like retro months..on the last Friday of each month they can take anything related to that period 😆.. So for the 80s.. She took a working Panasonic walkman with tape an all 90s she took my Sony Discman also cd or guns n roses 😆 for the 2000s my 2 gen ipod 😆... Teacher just waits every month what she will take.. And all my stuff still working.. 👍

one alternative I can suggest for that cool looking headphone is to use portable bluetooth amp that you can connect with your phone, (eg: FiiO BTR5). It will enhance your listening experience, plus keep your cables tidy to your pocket while you using your phone. It provides mic too!

He didn't answer but I can help with that. It is getting older but the phone is still good enough to use even in 2022. It's still good for like 4 more years. Although I'd recommend that you get something like an iphone 12 and above. It has a design that matches with the current iphone and it isn't really far back compared to the other iphones. The 11 pro is still a great phone though but for newer features and a slightly newer phone, I'd recommend an iphone 12 or 13
I wrote part of my art school honours thesis about the tactility of listening to music on a Walkman. Did you have to get a new belt out in the Walkman you use? Most of the secondhand ones I’ve found have dodgy belts after so many years of use.

I have a pair of Porta Pro that I happened to use the other day after my Bluetooth headphones were out of battery. They sound ridiculously good for 30$, but don’t expect anything too out there. Many Bluetooth headphones in the 200-range sound better for example, as will wired ones focused on sound quality. But they truly are special and worth looking into if you don’t mind sound leaking in from the outside.

Casset tapes and cd's were too fiddly for me to even be interested in using them in the 90s. I only started listening to music regularly when ipod became mainstream! I'm glad you can enjoy, but wow I cannot relate. Hahaha.

Any audio quality those headphones have is instantly lost when listening to a cassette. Out of all the formats they have the worst quality.

As you shooting with the 90D: I do as well and just ordered the m6 mii additionally, it smaller, portable and could be also interesting for you. I know you do also lots of shots with the 13 pro. But as the m6 seems to be discontinued now you might like to check it out. You do great things with the 90D and the m6 could be a great carry on addition.

Besides it's usual intended purpose and your use, I'm curious how good is it for working/internet (hooked to a MBP 14?) I live in a small space and a 1 Screen setup for everything from working to watching contento, but still getting something I love it's design since it uses space either way and watch everyday be it in use or not. (An Apple XDR is out of budget ;)
