My G35 (1956) had the short rear window and full-length wing spar (implemented about half way through the production year). It was STC'd to burn unleaded, alcohol-free mogas. It had the V-tail support cuff but otherwise stock. Only 1 operative NAVCOM so flew only VFR from AZ to AL after purchasing. During its tenure with us had multiple avionics upgrades, retained the ADF (mostly for entertainment), reupholstered and repainted with N change from 4501D to 5635G (1956 G35). She was excellent in IMC and with D-Shannon tanks and 80 gal usable fuel gave 6.25 hours (1,000 miles, 170 mph) range with 1 hour reserve (avg 11 gph). Used mostly for travel (always on IFR flight plan) to visit wide-spread family, some long-range commuter trips for work an multiple Angel Flight missions. Owned for 12 years and completely enjoyable and comfortable. My uncertificated "autopilot" wife took the throw-over control while I took naps on longer, uncomplicated portions of the flight plan: "If somebody calls on the radio, just wake me up". She was excellent at stick & rudder. I sure miss N5635G bur miss my lovely "autopilot" much more.
12:40 N9899R N model appears in the P model paint scheme. This aircraft was used as the 1961 & 1962 advertising aircraft appearing in many advertisements and on US postage stamps. It also appears as a P model in Larry Ball's _Those Incomparable Bonanzas,_ pg. 106. Many examples of various models in this video appear with non-original paint schemes, but this one is somewhat unique.
