Im afraid of the oil pastels in coloring books too, but others do it?? We got a lot of overlapping books. 😂😂 Awesome!! Can't wait for part two. Ps. I love Apple Barrel - for everything, everywhere!! Hi Doodle! I know, it was the exact opposite of a low-buy. You know, I have made room, and there seems to be plenty, somehow. For now... I'll let you know what happens on the fixative front. Re: the oil pastels, I also think I have enough options now for coloring books that I don't really need to go there. (I say that now.) Yes, many overlapping books! Many future BCs perhaps! 😀 Glad I did right getting the Apple Barrel brand. Hope things are going well for you, and have a fantastic weekend!

The spray can of fixative will do so much better than any pump spray bottle of fixative-simply because you’re getting a consistent very fine mist from a spray can rather than uncontrolled, differing size droplets from a pump spray. You do what makes you comfortable, of course, but there’s really no difference in inhaling something marked “non-toxic” and anything else. They all have chemicals that, if inhaled consistently over hours each and every day, can be harmful to humans. But spraying fixative on coloring book pages for a few seconds every so often isn’t going to make a difference to your health-it’s better to do it in a well ventilated room (or even outside) and don’t breathe it directly in if you can help it and you’ll be fine
Yeah, you're probably right. I definitely agree with what you said about a spray can vs. a pump spray bottle. The problem is that where I live it's challenging to go outside to spray things--I don't have a backyard or porch or anything--so I'm trying to find something that I can (more) safely use inside.
