I discovered 'bush poetry' a few years back while travelling through some small back town and have been a fan since. Try a 'bush poetry breakfast' at god knows what early hours of the morning when hung over from watching rodeo and music previous nights ('water melon festival' (Chinchilla). brilliant experience!
Just found this and I love it. I am also looking for two other bits of Australiana if you can help then I'd appreciate it very much. Doug Dowdle - a bush poet in Australia who was featured on Australia All Over this morning. And the name of a radio serial played on ABD radio in the early 80s and it was very funny - the story of a young guy's road trip up the east coast to the Gold Coast. I had it on cassette way back then but now have no record of it. Any clues?
