another ult good for genji's blade is kiriko's ult the increased attack speed is almost as powerful as ana's nano boost
Honestly the movement speed is even better than the attack speed.
A combination of Kiriko's ult and Nano Boost is a dream-come-true for Genji!
It’s more powerful than nano… not on genii because his ult makes you have too fly around the map slashing and dashing enemies no ulted genji has the time too be standing in a slim line
Honestly not a fan, if the enemy team is standing in a kiri ult within melee range they deserve the team wipe, but don't expect it to work outside of gold honestly, since people tend to flee when they get rushed, let alone rush with blade
I honestly prefer the mercy beam with ult more than nano since most ana's tend to nano the genji and just leave him with no follow up heal shots while mercy will boost and heal when needed
A new good habit as an old Genji main, is to dash away more often
Your dash is a movement tool. The reset on kill is good for dashing in, but dashing in might just lead to your death. If you're too deep in enemy lines, dash out. It's very unlikely you'll win a 1v2 or 1v3
Agreed I main Genji and when I know I’m in a room with people who will kill me I dash either around them or away to try to keep alive for as long as possible

Genuinely thankful for this because genji is a character I really wanted to learn, he seems super fun, but was always kinda jarring
A tip I use all the time with genji like if your running from a tank or anyone you can turn a corner and just climb and it breaks there screen so hard and saves you, also don’t be afraid to use primary fire in close range if secondary isn’t working (another thing the best characters to use secondary fire on is torb, zen, bastion, and all the tanks) I know this is long but this is a thing I learned from dbd if you get in there face and just strafe or double jump or blink (in tracers case) behind them it’s really good at reducing damage, this really works against dvas in my experience
Up your sensitivity at least 1.5x your normal hero sens, you'll thank me later
Trust in the Nano Boost. Gave one to a Genji who went on to merk the entire enemy team. Even sent me a friend request after the win
Also nano boosted a genji once and they got a team kill with blade, this combo can work miracles
I agree with the deflect tip but not the example. If bastion is in his turret form you should always keep up your deflect since you are stopping him from shoot your teammates and also wasting his time in turret from
it depends on the situation, if you are 1v1ing a bastion then no, but if he is infront of your team then yes

Also if you need to do a lot of damage while next to an enemy the secondary fire does more damage fast when up close.
Just an information btw, there is a setting for genjis deflect. If u press deflect button its gonna be keep it up till the timer but if you let that button lose its gonna stop automatically.

Glad genji got these changes, when I used to one trick him you could only cancel his deflect by wall climbing which worked but could be awkward in a lot of situations

As a Genji main - that's really good tips, a lot of genjis at lower ranks doing these mistakes (and they think solo dragonblade is good ultimate xD)
One time I was playing echo, with 40 kills and 7 deaths, while our tank had 17 kills 11 eleven deaths and was saying were were all trash (our supports had over 10k healing and other DPS had 40 kills and like 9 deaths) and then “reported” me after he went into my DMs to vent and I called him trash again

One time my brother was playing bastion and he killed me by shooting the genji deflect which was aimed at me
Be very mindful of your teams ults, if a dry blade can be used to force a reaction from the enemy, you can set up your team for a free fight win by baiting support ults like transcendence.

Genji sucks this season.
Don't cancel your deflect with dash, try to implement right clicks between deflect and dash, more up time and more pressure, dashing after deflecting is only when your giving your dash cd time to get up
I usually use blade to create panic so my team can push or finish of the enemies
A few tips as a Genji with over 100 hours
-Turn on the setting that makes it so you hold down a button for the deflect, I would also keybind the deflect to a side button of a mouse
-(If you’re on console ignore this, crank sensitivity 100% you will need it)DO NOT crank that sensitivity up all the way, we ain’t all Necros, have it at the sweet spot where you can 180 for dashes but can also aim, I can’t give a specific setting since I won’t have the same mouse as you.
- Mainly as playing Genji you want to use fan for close combat fights and also fan before you dash for extra damage, primary fire is only for far away opponents, or a stationary opponent, especially that widow across the map

A bastion was shooting me in turret mode and I deflected but he didn't stop shooting and I ended up dying 😭
Oh make sure you aim at him, it'll eliminate him before your deflect times out.
I meant the when I was deflecting the bullets at him he just kept shooting while taking damage cause he was so dumb so when I canceled deflect trying to predict he would stop shooting he just kept shooting 💀
@@elliotberluti5372ea don’t stop deflecting until you see him stop shooting lol. Even then I would say it was a bit of a bad tip cause you should let the deflect run out as it just wastes Bastion’s turret mode
Sometimes holding deflect can actually just be a big NUH UH button to help you either back up and escape or for a teammate to distract the enemy for you to jump them

Haha, no. The second point doesn’t really apply much, especially to me, because people rarely stop shooting a deflecting Genji. I’ve been hard stuck in the lower ranks and there’s just no point anymore. Why be good if it doesn’t help you rank up?
Never cancel deflect. I say this as a Genji main. Every metal rank scrub ever will shoot the deflect no matter what, and I swear it's like everyone has forgotten the half second buff to deflect Genji got in OW1 because that last half second is when deflect gets shot the _most._ Bastion, sure, deflect, cancel, right click, dash, right click, whatever, but everyone else? Hold deflect for the entire duration.
Above metal rank, 100% cancel deflect tho. It's just not worth wasting that 1 second it's going to be useless for, you might as well spend that second shooting back at them yourself. And if you're going to climb out of metal rank, might as well get into the habit. But in metal ranks, just know you can 100% farm kids with that last half second of deflect.
The only bad thing for console peeps like me is no fov i pray to the high heavens console gets a fov slider
New Tip - 3 ways of playing Genji
Genji Main role is assassinate (Wait and flank from angles like diving from behind or above them). This setup is solo way this is my method it's like playing as tracer no pocket or.heals from teammate u assassin and get way reset do again on backline (Mainly sprts) high chance of winning team fights if they have no sprts
Farm Genji, this is to play with your tank/team and farm blade and wining team fight using ur ult(Boring way but works)
Dive Genji, this role is u getting pocketed or playing with ur tank (like Winton, mercy, tracer, Kiri) this part requires team work u goota coom for dive consistently of who u targeting or prioritize the bad part is they can go anti-dive
Every role has their cons, try to change ur play style
When you commit on one style they will counter u.
But just pressures ur sprts still huge play
For Genji damage isn't the Dw if u got less dmg the final blows is the most thing u carry even tho it's stealing kill it's better to kill them than letting them getting away

Wrong. Hold your deflect for its full duration to 1) waste Bastion's tank mode as much as you can 2) allow more time for your dash cooldown in case you're still waiting. The moment you dash out of a deflect, Bastion will resume and destroy you in no time. Hope that by the the time your deflect is over, Bastion's tank mode is also over or not much of it is left.
You'd be surprised the number of people that continue firing at a deflecting Genji. As a Genji main, my favorite to deflect is Bastion. Poor guy never learns.
Hi genji player dash has a max range but within that range u can aim middle of knee cap to feet to dash and end up behind them
but before feet (like under their model) is right in front of them
Dash should hit; gl with that tip
Wish I could import Workshop codes but even after watching your video on how to import workshop codes, I can’t probably cause of age restrictions or something
On controller specifically xbox you can also swap jump to LB and dash to the A button to make it easier to jump without taking your hands off the sticks

How about this for ever new genji player. Spend a month playing the AI so you don't ruin everyone else's fun while you essentially make it a 4v5
Remember if you use deflect NEVER go in with dash, if you do this you have no escape abilities to get out of your low or in a bad situation, either go in with dash and fall back with deflect, or go in use deflect and get out with dash and wait for deflect to replenish then continue fighting up close, cause remember you not a tracer you can’t just recall out whenever things don’t go your way
relying on nano as a genji means you'll miss good opportunities for blade and you won't see these opportunities very well either. you won't always have an Ana, practice base blade
If you cant flick really good, just double jump after dashing, turn and shoot the enemy, if you're lucky thats 3 headshots

Another tip for anyone trying to start playing Genji I’ve been playing him and maining him for like five years my best tip for y’all is don’t play him he’s bad just use another character that if u get equally good at you’ll get way more value

Oh another way to cancel deflect that was quite popular back when deflect couldn’t be canceled is by wall climbing.
If you stop deflecting bastion and hes still in turret form you're getting shredded
If you can’t pair an ult with genji, you can get value by forcing multiple abilities or even other ultimates.
A tip is switching from pressing to holding the deflect button
U don't need a nano for a good blade just positioning, genji blade was my best ever 5k without a nano
Please genjis dash upwards so we can nano you, the ult refreshes your dash. Don’t make me nano the lucio
Im a diamond genji, not the best but not the worst, my ass will raw-dog with blade to get one kill and die, i havent been punished for playing like shit so I’ll keep doing it til it stops working

Although the blade trip is somewhat true blade cam still be very good on its own although no amazing as an initiator having 1 or 2 picks is good enough to win a team fight so don’t be afraid or wait for a blade combo if you see a good opportunity take it especially if the target is isolated. However don’t hold on to the blade for too long looking for this opportunity as genii gets a lot of value from how fast blade charges and how impactful it can be in the right hands you should always be trying build blade holding on to it will only decrease your value

Nanoblade is a wasye of ana ult, genhi can easily get pne or to picks if he waits for coodowns without blade
Idk why, but Genji is starting to remind of Zero from MMZ and MMX.
I use blade if i dont have ana/kiri ult to bait out the enemys defense ults and cooldowns so my teammates with actuall usefull ults can follow up

Thing is most bastions dont stop shooting and they die to genji when he finishes deflect dashes or whatever
So happy genji is a b tier hero now, he can’t 1 shot, his ult is 3 shot now and hes piss easy to hit

How to win as genji play a different character
Mercy’s damage boost provides the same effect as Ana’s Nano Boost on 200 HP Heroes, enabling the slash and dash combo.
You can also combo it with Sombra’s EMP to shut down cooldowns, ultimates, and lower their hp to a break point
Sombra genji is trash since they have the same weaknesses and strengths though
