Great video Darren! Yeah, this feature is fully underrated and it's surprisingly useful to be fair. I will certainly be using it a lot more going forward. Keep up the great work!👍
Great stuff. I do use the lock feature. But I haven't figured out how to have a layer with my logo remain locked to the top layer position so the logo isn't covered up by adding a new background. Can that be done?

On the app on iPhone i can’t unlock my project. And Is not just about to click on the padlock, jas a grey color. Is So simple, and Is hard to find an information What to do when you can unlock your page.
I created a page in Canva yesterday. I went to work on it today and I cannot unlock it in the mobile version webpage or in the app. It just says "page is locked. Unlock to continue" when I try to edit anything. Any suggestions? Help!
@@DarrenM i made it and locked it previously but when i went to unlock it, it wasn't an option anymore. the page was unlocked but that particular element was still locked.. weird
How can I lock a design V1.0, and then duplicate it - but work on the 2nd version without the 1st version taking the properties of V2.0? I am finding that when I change the dimensions of one of the designs on the page, it affects all of the others. Thanks!

Hi Darren, i was just wondering, when i am creating a template link, but i want an elemant to be locked so people who use the link cant move it or change it, how do i lock it so they cant change anything. because when i test the template link, i can still unlock the elements even when im not on my main account. got any ideas?

interesting, but what I want to know is where have the letters gone in the elements? I used some of them and the ones I used are now in the recently used section the rest have disappeared why?
Hi Darren - Help! I am going crazy trying to figure this out. Forgive me if I missed this in one of your videos. Here is my problem: I am adding several different sticker elements to a design. After I have dragged & adjusted one element sticker to the size I like, how do I then make the additional element stickers the exact (height & width) same size? I am creating a dinner menu with food stickers & its looking all crazy and not uniform because I dont know how to line up the various stickers to be the same in size.🤯 Hope this makes since. 🤪 I'm sure you do. If not, I'll try again. Let me know 😁 Thank you from Atlanta, GA!
To line up elements. Select them and then go to position and align left, right etc. Sometimes the tidy up option works. Sometimes it doesn’t line things up. Another way is in the menu turn on guides and drag out a guide line to line them up against. Or you can just use a line and then delete it after.
@@DarrenM Thank you. Learning how to shift and use guides to make sure everything is lined up is super helpful but I'm still looking for additional info. Is there a way to make sure all elements are the same size before I make sure they are lined up? The only way I know how to resize a sticker is by dragging it around. The size of "the vanilla pie" is w:6 h:4.8. How do I get "the chocolate pie" w:6 h:4.8? Is there some way to tell the image what size I want it to be without playing "lets drag for 5 minutes till you find the same size"?
@@lisadixon6617 there isn’t any special way to size them all. I’ve asked to give us the ability to type in for element and shape size, but isn’t currently possible. The only way would be to size them up next to each other. They kind of click in place then.

You should just be able to lock a layer and then adjust layers level in the layers panel (under position)
Thank you for a short and to the point tutorial

Make sure the page is selected. If it’s a design locked my an admin though, you might have to ask them to unlock and reshare the design.

Make sure you have the page selected and not just an element. Select the page in the bottom. This would be my guess as to what is happening.
my issue is the element is locked and could not be unlocked.
the page isn't locked other elements not locked. only that particular is locked.
Speak to the person that created the template or the design, as it sounds like it is locked from an admin side.

Just duplicate the project from the project home page. This way you can create multiple documents / versions.

Lock the page.

right click and detach form the background. It's frustrating that it automatically snaps to the background.
If I lock an element and share it as a template, will the recipient of the template be able to unlock it?
Yes.

This sounds like a printer issue I think. Worth checking with Canva support.
Does Canva have a shortcut to unlock all or multiple elements on a page rather than selecting one at a time?
Just one by one. I’ve asked if there is a way they change it in the future.
How do i do this on mobile?
Press hold and you’ll see multiple select come up.
How can I lock the layer of an element, in this case to the Front?
Just select the font box and lock that.
Canva will not let me edit. The locking feature is on unlock but I can not edit, Any ideas on how to able editing ?

Make sure your only selecting the element you want to lock and not the background.
what to do if I can't unlock the feature?
Is it something that has been locked by your team admin or whoever owns the template? You’d have to ask them to unlock it.
Which fond used in canva word
I'm not sure I understand what you are asking?
Unlock button doesn’t work for me. That’s what I was looking for on this video was how to unlock.
Do you have full access to the template? It might be that your administrator or the person that created the template has locked them.
How to unlock page : 1%
UNWANTED INFORMATION: 99%
