  • Todays video will be an update video on my newly updated Ancestry dna results for 2022. I received an updated ancestry estimate from ancestry dna recently in august of 2022. Another update that they have recently released is the chromosome painter/browser feature at on Ancestrydna. I will go through the chromosome painter to talk about my results as well as what i think of each of the recent updates. Subscribe to get updated videos on my results and the genetics testing companies!

Hi, good video. The high prevalence of Scottish could be explained indirectly by your Irish ancestry. Your Irish ancestry comes from Northern Ireland, which were the Irish who travelled to Scotland hundreds of years ago. Scottish (Q-Celtic) genes are largely Northern Irish genes, so perhaps the system identifies some of your Northern Irish genes more with Scotland.

Hey i understand what you mean but the irish i have on my papertrail has already been accounted for on my results. I was debating more the high percentage of them together and the innacuracy of that for me

The other thing you need to understand is just because your sister or brother have the same exact parents as you the DNA 🧬 results will be different what we get from our DNA tree of heritage won’t be exactly the same so that doesn’t mean the results are faulty

You may not be aware but in there was Scottish emigration to Poland from XIV to XIX century. And the numbers were significant. They were running away from religious persecutions. These are some scottish surnames still exsisting in Poland: Czamer - Chalmers
    Czochran- Cochrane
    Dziaksen-Jackson
    Kabron-Cockburn
    Machlejd--Mcleod
    Szynkler- Sinclair
They might be yours ancesters dont you think?

I think this new update is off. It watered down too much. Also says my mom has 10% Irish. My dad 0%. Me 15%. And me 7% Germanic Europe and zero on either parents. (Not talking the inheritance tool but from their personal updates). Also all other tests including the last update had me at 25-30% English and now I'm at 10%. I'm looking forward to another update. Hopefully, it makes more sense.

I did Living DNA so I could do my maternal mother line. I knew I had Germanic ancestors based on my grandpa on my maternal line. Ancestry gave me 6% but Living DNA gave me 12%.0
    I did ancestry DNA first

Wilson is a Scottish surname. Are you guys positive your Grandpa was from Italy? Do you have Italian matches? It could be Northern Italian which is more genetically similar to European. You mentioned NE, it could be Slavic. My great great grandpa was from Slovenia and it was only a couple hundred miles from Venice.

hell, I refuse to treat any test which classes Poland as Eastern European seriously, especially Central Poland. Poland is entirely located in the western half of Europe, so either call it Western European which is just accurate, or Central European which people in Poland like, and is accurate, but ffs

Dont know but they may think on the old eastern block or perhaps polands map went more in eastern europe before but its just a guess
