What's nice with the new physics is that slides are much more "catchable" and controllable instead of them being a roll of dices and then you become passenger of your own car.

It took me some 17-20 laps in the 488 evo to get to grips with it But after those laps, I wow... I love this update so much. It's changed so much and it makes me feel a more complete driver in a way, it's hard to explain. I need to pay attention more, but also sometimes it's strangely more predictable than it used to be, even though it takes some getting used to the first laps... From what i have played now in 1.8 to me the changes to ffb and physics are not just incremental or minor, i feel like it has been a huge jump to even better feeling. I was extremely happy how the game felt before and am even more happy now. As far as DLSS goes, i run it with 4k res, DLSS on Quality and 5% sharpening and my overall feeling is that it looks absolutely on par with DLSS off while i get now almost a constant 120fps (my max on the OLED TV) while before it was varying between 85 and 110. The biggest jump however is in the replay fps, it almost doubled at times, its crazy.
@Herendill thats very weird, if you dont get an fps boost while it is turned on, then either you are CPU bottlenecked and DLSS can't help with that, or your monitor refresh rate is already at max.

Hey loving the update too ! Glad to see you back here. About your comment on the curb pull, it's probably the improved camber simulation. I also did some testing with the different AA options, DLSS and FSR at 2k, it is surprisingly good, the difference is in the AA technique used (For exemple, with DLSS, you cannot choose the AA and you can see the same trailing effects behind moving cars as with the temporal AA, while the KTAA option fixes these issues, it can only be used with FSR) Edit: "Tramlining" is the term I was looking for when talking about the curbs
Nice first drive video Ermin. I've watched several of these type videos and I notice most people getting frustrated, over-driving to the point of heating the tyres too much, which then makes them lose time even more. The road edges really play a role now, you can't just ignore them or treat them as purely visuals. Watching the trackside shots looks quite realistic now, especially on corner entry and exit. If you've ever took a car on a real race track, then you will know all about tramlining, where the wheels get caught up in the parallel lines in the curbing etc. You seemed to get up to speed quite quickly in your go-to car, just a second off your times in the previous build. Impressive! 👍
Lap times are massively dependent on the series the sim is based of. For the 24h of Spa Blancpain series, the average qualy lap is 2:18. For the GT Open was about 2:15 but then the record was broken to 2:13's which is faster than the what GTE's can do. And then there's the GT3 Brasil Endurance, which is what AMS2 is based off and it's even less restricted. So it depends on the series and regulations, so BoP, tires, etc.
The BMW is an intersting car. On the default aggressive setup it has the rotation of a bus, and the straight line speed of a tractor. I didn't even reach 6th gear at the top of Kemmel. I was stuck in the 2:20's. But then I took of a lot of rear wing and the car absolutely came alive. Next I had a race at Zolder and was able to beat my personal best by A LOT. I'm talking 8 tenths. I did this by just bolting on a crapload of front end grip (caster, ride height, toe etc.) It's a tricky one to tame, but very quick on tracks like zolder and Hungaroring once you get the hang of it.
Thanks for the review, The M4 is a hand full..... I agree the upgrade brings a little more detail to the driving experience overall. Good to see the channel back in action and you complaining about lap times I can only dream of ........... lol

IDK if it is the new M4 but the physics is distinctively different in a better way. I need to go back and try a more usual car/track combo so I can make a better conclusion.
From what I have noticed all of my setups were somewhat broken. Not totally but I def had to change a few settings. Particularly in the area of bump stops.
Aris said on his live stream that unless your setups are extreme, you shouldn't have to tweak your setups. This doesn't seem to add up for me. All my setups are all broken.
The old bug where your car would get stuck on a kerb, like it was on rails, before the 5 points contact patch for the tires is kinda back. The same situation can happen, car will get stuck, you will turn the wheel and the car won't move out immediately, until it snaps out of it. I hope people won't defend this behavior as feature as they did back then.

Compare with AMD FSR too, since you can also run that on all Nvidia cards. Would be nice to see native, FSR, and DLSS compared, at 4K and 2K if you have the time. And at least on native and FSR, use the new Temporal Anti-Aliasing method. DLSS has it's own Temporal AA I believe - might be worth testing DLSS with other AA turned on and off to see if you can notice any benefit to having other AA options enabled, and whether turning off other forms of AA gives DLSS any extra performance.
Can anyone tell me what to choose? I have Assetto Corsa with some DLC from some time ago. I've only tried playing a little bit on the gamepad. (I'm going to buy a steering wheel now, although I'm a bit disgusted with the gamepad-based gameplay and the lack of dynamic feel of the game. It's a little better in Project Cars 2.) And now the question is whether to buy Assetto Corsa Competizione with some DLC or stay with Assetto Corsa and start modding it? I'm more interested in a good driving experience than the number of series and cars. I would like something that will keep me going and I won't regret buying a steering wheel.
if you like racing GT3s and GT4, do buy ACC. If you want streetcars, openwheelers or anything like that, mod your AC install. Best of both worlds: buy ACC and mod AC. Imho AC with a game pad can't express itself. With a steering wheel is a whole other world.
@@R3DCODE Thank you for your reply. I watched some more video about the development of car simulator style games and bought BeamNG and Assetto Corsa Comepitzione with Intercontinental GT Pack. As for Assetto Corsa, I've been thinking about buying the DLC's with Porsche and Ferrari, but now that I have Competizione it kind of loses its point. And Assetto Corsa also has Black Hole Curbs, so it's a bit silly to put money into that now. I think I will just buy another DLC for Competizione. GT4 maybe? I don't know.

There's lag between my DSLR feed being decoded by the capture card and the screen capture, so what you're perceiving is inverse lag (ie. the on screen wheel turning earlier than I do in real life).
rF2 is on its own level with this. Try driving an F1 car at Imola, and going on the rumble strips. ACC has always had a fundamentally lagging tyre model, so it's good to see them bringing it up gradually.
I got used to it. Kind of nice at some points as you can use the curbs to help you rotate the car on many corners, just got to be careful on corner entry on the outside as braking on the curbs tend to want to pull you off.

This is an unpopular opinion but I think all of the sounds in ACC don't sound good. I've raced IRL and all that creaking and sounds of particulates aren't what it sounds like while driving. I also have issues with the head motion effects. That's not how humans perceive things.

Only play raceroom at the moment as with acc the cars were to twitchy, even at very low speeds. Hopefully they have fixed the tyre contact better now to prevent this.
All we need know is The green hell for some super 24 hours !!!!
Seriously, why isn’t this track in the game
Compare with AMD FSR too, since you can also run that on all Nvidia cards. Would be nice to see native, FSR, and DLSS compared, at 4K and 2K if you have the time. And at least on native and FSR, use the new Temporal Anti-Aliasing method. DLSS has it's own Temporal AA I believe - might be worth testing DLSS with other AA turned on and off to see if you can notice any benefit to having other AA options enabled, and whether turning off other forms of AA gives DLSS any extra performance.
About to play ACC for the first time sounds like I came in at the right time 👍
Have you tried AMS 2?
Grazie per il preambolo in italiano. Saluti da MotorSimItaly
It's a little better in Project Cars 2.)
And now the question is whether to buy Assetto Corsa Competizione with some DLC or stay with Assetto Corsa and start modding it?
@@Prezes2607 GT4 are a ton of fun to drive but they aren't a lot popular online. At least on european servers.
Visual/frame rate comparisons using DLSS and FSR would definitely be interesting.
FSR is not comparable to DLSS. Completely different technologies, you can compare TAA to DLSS and regular bilinear upscaling with FSR
@@AngryKurtz86 I realize they are different techniques, but they aim to achieve they same goal. Therefore it would be interesting to see their differences.
@@calsas they really don’t…
I recommend you watch the digital foundry video on FSR, Alex explains it very clearly
ua-cam.com/video/xkct2HBpgNY/v-deo.html
@@AngryKurtz86 I've seen it. I get your point. Although they use very different techniques, both methods aim to "simulate" higher resolutions at lower performance cost. So, for that reason, It would definitely be interesting to see the differences between them.
New tyre update has a slower tyre so they've said don't compare previous times
The input lag is still there ?I mean the steering wheel don't match perfectly with the Sim rig wheel ?
There's lag between my DSLR feed being decoded by the capture card and the screen capture, so what you're perceiving is inverse lag (ie. the on screen wheel turning earlier than I do in real life).
Nice Ace Combat 2 "briefing" ost
Hey Erwin, I'm a big fan of your channel! I'm glad you're back to making videos again, keep it up!
Just tried the new M4 at monza. It's sexy and a good car to race with
Yeah DLSS comparison videos pls.
RaceRoom curbs can tend to suck you off the track. When I started there, I thought it was weird as ACC curbs didn't do that.
rF2 is on its own level with this.
I like your taste in young energetic Italian… automobiles
Man really called the corkscrew the carousel
The kerb suck can be mitigated by reducing camber a bit
Still don't see this on ps4, am I missing something? Great content. 👍🏻
why is Ermin using the csl dd & not his DD1?
He has said before he prefers the smoothness of the CSL DD.
HELP!!! How do your graphics look so good? I have come over from iRacing after being on it for 5 years and needing a change. ACC was meant to look great, but for me its just blurry. I am running a 3080 so should have no problems making it lush. Yours looks mega... please help as I want to give ACC a go!
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp please ♥
Just everything on EPIC, native 4k. Nothing really special. I just use the Legacy tone mapper vs the ACES one.
@@Ermz Thanks for the reply. Its probably the 4k then. I am running 3 x 1080p so maybe its that :(
Can you drive more than just one car in the game?
Nope. They force you to drive the M4, no matter what class you're in.
@@Ermz ok, I get it, sort of like playing Sonic the Hedgehog and stuck playing Sonic the entire game 😂
Is this also realeased on console too?
Hey ermin, can you please do a vid on the csl dd pro that just got announced.
Thank you
(Btw your vids are amazing)
I thought you finished creating content ?
I was hoping that they would sort the sound out going over kerbs, just sounds awful to me!
This is an unpopular opinion but I think all of the sounds in ACC don't sound good. I've raced IRL and all that creaking and sounds of particulates aren't what it sounds like while driving.
I also have issues with the head motion effects. That's not how humans perceive things.
@@regibson23 yep your correct, the cars in acc sound like they are going to fall apart, I don't know where they got this from, one of the reasons why I don't play I now, an immersion breaker!
@@Cagefighter i think you are talking about chassis sound, right? You can put it down in the audio settings
@@TleafarafaelT I know but in general the sound in acc are wrong, cars don't sound like that going over kerbs, it's a real immersion breaker, its a shame because the physics are good
I'm going to try and properly attack some of these laptimes tonight in this game. I've played a lot of racing games throughout my life with and without a "proper" sim setup. I feel like even with a mid level fanatec base, wheel, and pedals I would be able to really compete in these games. I need to either do better with what I have or fork out way more money than I'm comfortable with spending right now after covid.
I do just fine with a tmx pro man.
Dlls and FSR comparison pls
settings vid for acc?
What is the metal song in the beginning of the video
La polenta taragnarock - nanowar of steel
(couldn't find it at first either, haha)
did anyone lose force feedback after the update? i reinstalled but cant get it back
The BMW steering goes light under braking which so many people don't seem to be noticing. Its absolutely jarring.
Does anyone know if this update is also coming to the console versions?
HE IS BACK, BOIS!!!
Hi ermz!
12:47 into the what? 😳
Cool to see you back but umm what’s going on?
Picking a car you aren’t accustomed to made no sense, but otherwise fun vid
i hate the new front grill on the m4 but it somehow looks good on the gt3 race car
