Great video, very helpful. Several of my handsets' push buttons we're becoming difficult to push - a sign of grime and oils coating the contacts. It was time for a cleaning, and your video made it easy to figure out how to open the clamshell. Knowing where the hidden plastic (and fragile) connecting latches are when opening electronic gadgets is important to a successful opening and, most importantly, for a successful closing, having not snapped any of the connecting latches. Thanks again!
Thanks for the video! I have a KX-TGA106 Handset with a display that gets very dim. I took it apart (not knowing what I'm doing) and upon reassembly, The Light Pipe (If that's what you called it) fell out 4:59. I didn't know where it came from! Argh lol. Thanks to your video, you mentioned it, and showed exactly what it is and where it goes. lol ( I guess I would have noticed eventually when the charging LED looked different. Anyway, the problem I'm having is with the display. It gets very dim, to the point where it's almost non existent. Weird thing is, If you take out the batteries, and put them back in immediately, the display will get instantly better. Also placing the phone in the cradle for 1 second, and removing also improves the display. I was hoping it was dirty contacts (something a little isopropyl alcohol cleaning might fix. But unfortunately no. These handsets are not made anymore and used ones are pricey now. Phone works find except for a dim display, but many times the display is fine. I'm wondering if humidity plays a role in this (we keep this phone in the bathroom, can get very humid. Any suggestions would be appreciated, and thanks again for this video.
If the LCD is connected to the board with a plug then it could be repaired by cleaning that connector. If it is stuck down with no connector than the glue is starting to fail and it's not easy to fix, requiring specialized tools and experience.
@@p1repair wow, thanks for the reply, and a quick one. Yep, the display seems to be stuck down with adhesive, I was hoping it was connected with a plug which could be cleaned/reconnected. Weird that when I unplug the battery for just a second, the display comes back better. (for the longest time, I thought it might be bad batteries). I guess it's no big deal. The phone works perfectly, except for an intermittent dim display. Thanks again for a very speedy reply.
@@fredWaxBeans11111 unfortunately it's most likely failing conductive glue. Any disturbance can make it better or worse. Sudden changes in voltage could allow a weak signal to get through. The glue can usually be brought back to life with heat and pressure but too little heat does nothing and too much can damage it. Removing the display always destroys the contacts

Which base(s) are compatible for this handset?
Exuse me...does it have to be rechargable batteries only?
You can power the phone with regular batteries but if you put it in a charger stand the batteries will leak and destroy your phone.
Why is the video not focused. I don’t know how to put those 2 charger metals back
Sir can you help, my panasonic cordless, all LEDs are constantly blinking the moment power given, what can be the problem? Thanx
