First, do not worry, I will not ask you about using WD-40, though that seems to be a perennial question. Second, I like this Beretta model and own one in 28 gauge. Still works beautifully after 20 years. Finally, good checklist for preparing the gun for the season. Living in Southern California, I do not have to worry about rain and humidity, but I appreciate your advice on the proper points for placement of grease. Thank you. Perry P.
Thanks Perry, you can get Napier in the USA. 🇺🇸 well worth getting a can. It lubricates well, and in a dry climate you could allow the solvent component to evaporate off before putting the gun back together 😀👍
Short answer: I don’t know. Napier is Chosen by BASC, Royal Berkshire Shooting School, EJ Churchill, Westley Richards, William Evens, William Powell and many leading gunmakers worldwide, Napier's award winning Gun Cleaner Lubricant. Has two in one action. Cleans and oils any type of gun. Removes fouling, effectively cleans using safe solvents, leaves a micro film layer of Napier Gun Oil and ensures lasting protection from corrosion. Will not degrease and can be safely used on all firearms. This product is made specifically for guns and will not damage oil or urethane stock finishes.
Thanks for sharing this. I have a very similar routine with my Miroku including cleaning the firing pins that I carry out periodically. I completely agree with your comments about the Napier gun cleaner and lubricant. Its fantastic stuff and the big tins go a long way. What is the grease that your using? Currently I use the white Napier VP90 grease alongside the cleaner/lubricant.

Many thanks!
I have used Legia spray for years and been happy with it. Do you think Napier is better? Thanks.

Outstanding! What size Philips driver is best for the butt pad screws?
The standard one. I think it’s PZ 2
Pozi drive.. but I frequently use a small slotted screwdriver to avoid mashing up the rubber

I use Molybdenum/ lithium blend, but a white lithium based grease is just as good 👍
Excellent video. I have a 687 EELL. I assume the bolt in the back is the same but does the side plate screw into the stock as well? Thanks.

My EELL sidekick video.
Watch Devongunsmith Diaries #8 Beretta EELL you can see how to remove the side locks and spray them 👍
Great tips! What grease are you using? High temp Moly?
@@ruaraidhmcdonald-walker9524 lithium / molybdenum CV grease
silver pigeon 3?
👍
Do you ever use WD40?
Never. The WD in WD40 means Water Displacement.. not lubricant.
I use Napier as it’s precisely designed for the use case I demonstrated.
@@devongunsmith4698 thank you for confirming my thoughts. It amazes me how many people use WD.
