Yes there is doggy dementia. We have a Rottweiler that has it. I’m sorry to hear that about Rusty. All you can do is try and keep him as comfortable as possible. God Bless you.
Rusty will give you lots of signs, one of the first is bladder control, had a similar dog , size ,breed, color, did lots of crying near the end, God bless Rusty on his life journey.
Nothing like a depressing video right before bed! You know your dog better than us. As long as he's eating and drinking and not in any pain- just let him be. I am not a vet, just my opinion. My parents have an older mini-poodle who is 14. She has slowed down quite a bit. I use to come by and take her for long walks, She use to chase deer and rabbits and run after cars. I was visiting last night and tried to take her for a walk. She walked less than half a bock and wanted to turn around. She's old, missing a lot of teeth but still healthy according to the vet. Dogs are like people. They slow down with age. I hope you have Rusty for many more years and stop worrying about how long he has left!
It (to me ) is not depressing but guess as you age you accept life/passing w/o much fan fare. I do not think Clutch is worried just spitting facts. I only watch when getting up. Great comment appreciate it!
We have a truck dog. All he knows it’s the truck for the most part. We have had Jack our dog in our truck since he was 16 weeks old and now he’s 8 years old. Prayers for ole Rusty.
My trucker son had what he thought was his "forever dog" Lily, but it didn't turn out that way. For a while they had total 4 dogs on the truck. They were his fur babies. Let him have his bacon strips especially since he eats that...got to be better than not eating. Fur babies do like fuzzy humans. We both go thru the same symptoms toward the end. Rusty is happy, you are by him and that is what counts. Hugs to your wife during her time too. Stay safe Mr Clutch and Rusty. 🙏💙🐶
Keep him with you to the end. I was an over the road driver and I had a companion that looked just like Rusty. White with apricot mixed in. He finally passed of old age. He always wanted to be with me. When it was time to leave home he beat me to the door. My heart goes out to you. Just enjoy the love now. He will ALWAYS be in your heart...❤
Hey Clutch yeah a beloved pet is like your family n kids...pray your days with Rusty are longest they can be ..that hairdo he has is a showstopper pretty Kool cut... safe travels to you n Rusty
We love Rusty too … I can tell by looking at his eyes they appear glazed over poor little guy losing site I’m sure . I am a dog lover however reason I don’t have one is the grief is to much . Enjoy every moment our friend .. Stay strong Rusty we support you buddy 🫶🏻🐶
So many others have spoken so many kind words and took words right out of my mouth. I pray for Rusty and for you and your family, but yes, signs are there. Keep him comfortable, and show him your love and care. He knows you best as you know him best too. We had to put two down since 2019. Hard as heck, but we knew, and they knew it was time. You are such a wonderful dad to Rusty. Just keep him happy. His body has been used to them bacon strips, so let him have what he loves best until the end. Keep on truckin'. 😊
Sorry to hear about Rusty. Yes, keep him happy for as many days he has. Greetings from Arizona Mr. Clutch have a great night and week. See you on the next video.
I hate to say this, but I would think about either leave him home or put him down. I would hate to have him have a major issue on the road and then you are stuck. I have had to put down a few great friends, always hard. I always think, what is the best for them.
Rusty is way to active to put down. He doesn't appear to be in pain. That would be why you would put him down. I had to do that with my 17 year old friend last year. It was the hardest thing I have had to do, but he had a stroke and was in pain. Keep him with you. You need him also.
I feel your pain brother. He's happy to be with you. You are his world. Thoughts and prayers for you both. Be safe and give him an extra piece of bacon from us. 🐶👍
He is your right hand man CT and vice versa….. I think the place to be is next to you. You’re an awesome dog dad and you and your family have given him a great life. If the rainbow bridge is near just keep doing what you have always done. He needs you
I totally understand what you're saying about Rusty. We had a mini poodle that lived to 17 and he had dementia. When it worsened, we would find him staring into corners and sometimes would try to climb into small spaces and even get stuck. I'd say if he's not doing these things yet then it's not too bad. It's when they stop playing and stop enjoying life that you know it's getting to that time. Wish you and Rusty all the best.
Hi there mr CT2........I am sorry to hear that Rusty is failing in health. I had a Yorkie, was my wife's furbaby until she passed away in '15. He didn't have much time for me as long as his "mama" was alive, but he learned to love me very much. He had been blind in his left eye for some time, and almost over night, he lost his sight in his right, walked off the bed with even slowing down, same with the porch when I took him out, and at the same time, he started having seizures. As much as it hurt, and as much as I miss him, I feel I did the right thing.......I am approaching 2 months with out him.........love him until the end, and take him to the rainbow bridge, bid him farewell, and live with his memories. I share your anxiety, as well as your hurt.
Sorry to hear RUSTY issues and deterioration 🥺 We know death of our pets and even ourselves is a sure thing, is part of life, but we keep moving on. I think is best to think what a wonderful life you keep giving RUSTY and how happy he still gets when giving his snacks and your undivided attention Is easier said than done, but try not to think of the future and on the inevitable but keep enjoying his company and his love towards each other You're dealing with his issues all day long, we only see him a few wonderful and joyous seconds when you share a post, enjoy each moment now! Extra hugs and cuddles CLUTCH and RUSTY ❤❤ Get better RUSTY! 😘❤
My dog just went blind in a matter of a week. She's still happy and eating. We're waiting for the blood results from the vet. Hope it's good news. Hope Rusty gets better, I wish dogs lived longer.
I feel for you! I have lost both pets and family members! It hurts and I always gave them whatever they want!!! Let them whatever makes them happy!! I do know you will be lonely when Rusty leaves, I for one enjoy seeing him on here with you. Take care!
Sorry to hear Rusty is in bad shape. He’s a big part of your life I understand and we enjoy seeing your life on the road. You’re struggles in your successes. We have appreciated more successes than struggles lately because we all love you and care about you nothing but the best for you and Rusty.
When he is that old it is tough. You are right he gets to eat what he likes since he is now on the far side of his journey so who cares if the treats are not that healthy! If he likes them he gets them at this point make his life as easy as possible and enjoyable. The number of years ahead is way less then the years behind at this point in his life.
When you have said Rusty updates I always wonder what they will be. I am sorry that he seems to be getting towards the end but glad you had so many years with him. Like you said who knows when it will be.
Sounds familiar. I had one with similar symptoms and found out he was a diabetic. I had to put him on a bland can food diet and 2 shots of insulin a day. He lived another 5 years.
sorry to hear thst about Rusty. I know thor nor my 1st truck cat isn't on the truck with me anymore but I'm wondering if my 1st truck cat is feeling the pinch. He's 12 and now using the bathroom outside the litter box almost daily now at home. It's gonna be a sad day when our pets go. We love them just as we do our children. Safe travels out there Darrell
Sad when time is nearing for a pet ending of life. What are you plans for CT1? if it just sets at home the value goes down. Keep on trucking and filling your bank account.
Yes dogs can get a form of dementia. I have noticed that my oldest one is also having a lot of anxiety. She now has a med for it. But she is also probably experiencing vision changes and hearing loss. It's sad when you start realizing they are showing thier age.
Aww poor rusty, I’m sorry clutch. I will hate the day that happens, but I’m going to do the same as you. Keep him comfy! I enjoyed meeting the both of you when I did!
The worst part of having a pet is watching them get old. I have a Pit mix that is nine and I can see he is not as active as he once was. If only dogs could stay young.
Make rusty comfortable as much as possible he is worth every bit of and then some rusty I will keep you in my prayers 🙏🙏🙏 and yes let rusty have his begging strips 😂and who ever has something to say about it SHUT THE HELL UP!!!!!!!!!! Clutch I will keep you and rusty in my prayers let me tell ya as you get older and something happens to your pet you have had for years it does something to ya and it takes a hell of a lot longer to get over it of you ever do rusty there would be a lot of broken hearted people here on UA-cam if something ever happens to you y'all stay safe
Sorry to hear about Rusty.. do you think he is missing the old truck? If you are worried about his weight. Give him more fat . I had a great dog nugget he was a mini Dom pitcher he had lost weight I started feeding him more fat with his dry dog food . Like Bacon fat , my mini pitcher he had stopped eating at age 12 started feeding him a 1/4 of a cup of bacon fat on his dry dog food he had gain 1 pounds in 2 months he lived 8 more years he had gone deaf and blinded I had to put him down he was 20 years old and he the vet gave him the last shoot to put him to sleep my dog was at 22 and 7/8 pounds yes he was 5 pounds over . If you are worried about Rusty weight try that he may miss the old truck and bring confused where things are at. I heard your sorrow in your voice and feeling the pain . I gone through that.
Did you park at Kwik Trip in West Salem and where did you deliver in Onalaska there a Sam’s Club and also Walmart too. I was working yesterday at Sam’s club in Onalaska. I live in La Crosse Wisconsin
I've had Maggie now 14 years. Thinking about it, that's twice as long as I ever stayed married to any of the ex's. I'm not sure what that means but it must mean something.
+ Please don’t hate me everybody , but someone has to honestly say it loud and clear , PETS , ESPECIALLY DOGS DO NOT BELONG IN A MOVING VEHICLE , even in a slow moving ones , let alone semis ! It destroys their nervous systems , animal clinics should at least refuse service your vehicle kept’ companion if not even taking ‘em away , I’m not a physician , an expert … I don’t even have a pet at the time being , but it has something to do with ( motion sickness ) : car sick “ usually the passengers “ sea sick ; airplane sick … multiply that by tens of times , cause that is how dogs’ sense of direction is better than ours , also if the animal was the driver ; l mean as in the case of donkeys or horses that know the way home to their stables ; they get there as fast and good … Some of us humans get lost going to the same address every time !!! 90% of truckers that insist on killing ……… PLEASE , I 🙏love these animals , leave them alone …… 🆘⚰
Hell yeah! Whatever Rusty wants Rusty gets. If Rusty wants a chocolate shake with his Beggin' Strips, so be it.
😂
Yes there is doggy dementia. We have a Rottweiler that has it. I’m sorry to hear that about Rusty. All you can do is try and keep him as comfortable as possible. God Bless you.

Sadly, it’s part of pet ownership. Keep him happy. His home is in that truck. Thanks for sharing.
I agree. Rusty needs to stay with Clutch and in the truck.

He is a cool dog. Your attitude about Rusty is spot on.
Pa used to say " The only problem with dog's is they live to long". Meaning you love them but they do pass, life 101. 🐕
Sorry to hear about Rusty. Yes, keep him happy for as many days he has. Greetings from Arizona Mr. Clutch have a great night and week. See you on the next video.
