Great pick Ash, it's one of the best songs from that great album! I also really like the title track. Great playing as always! Can't wait for more Revocation as well!
Any tips for keeping track of what I'll call the B section groove against the other parts? It comes up as a rhythmic theme/device in a few parts of the song and those hi-hat flourishes + splash/china hits are almost mesmerizing.
Hey, hmmmm not exactly sure what you’re asking. But the main groove is in 11 with a couple different turn arounds. Hit me up with you want a lesson and we could get specific. Other than that just feel it and try transcribing the part you’re having trouble with ! Good luck ! ashpearsonlessons@gmail.com
@@ashgrinder thats great to hear you say it's in 11. I was a self taught drummer and trying to explain stuff to the other band members sometimes was a struggle. That's how I kept track of the song though was by counting. It was like one big equation when I took all the individual sections and put them together. I assumed all musicians had to count to keep track of time and where they're at in the song? I guess some guys can go off feel maybe but that probably doesn't always work out lol
Great choise! Marvelous playing!
Maravillosa ejecución de un intrincado tema. Felicitaciones desde Chile
