I'm hoping the Peregrine makes it into service. If you're not familiar with it, it's the same diameter and half the length (6 ft.) of the AIM-120D and therefore should be double the capacity per statements/analysis, but it has dual seeking modes of both active-radar homing and infrared, stated to have the same agility of an AIM-9X, a small fragmentation warhead, and Raytheon labels it as a "medium range" BVR missile with equal or slightly better range than the AIM-120 (they didn't specify the variant, so likely the AIM-120C).

By the time the russians have two squadrons, the US will have 10 of the sixth generation. Comparing the plane that is barely operational and total number is around SIX is just meaningless. It's still not certain that they finally got proper engines. The time for the Ru to be a real air power is gone...
So insane how such a dominant air to air platform like the F-15 just gets eaten like nothing. Would love to see this fight with a SU-57 instead of the Raptor
This just shows the immense power of stealth. It also shows the triad of combat. If you can’t see, you can’t fight. If you can’t breathe you can’t fight. If you can’t stand, you can’t fight.
That was beautiful. I'm not quite sure what you did there, whether it was the map or the weather conditions or maybe you're using a RTX 3090Ti or something but that was pure eye candy.
Actually there’s 1 and only 1 case where an Eagle was shot down by an aircraft. Not in actual combat but the Japan’s JSDF lost an F-15J to a AIM-7L accidentally fired by another F-15J during ACM training back in 95.
The F-15 is such an iconic airplane. It's painful to watch them be so outmatched. Just goes to show the sheer dominance of the F22. God help anyone who has to be in that position.
It'd mean something different nowadays when you can get a bunch of BVR kills in a single fight whereas back in the day, becoming an ace meant like surviving and winning multiple dogfights lol
What would happen if upon initial engagement, you did not desend into contrail airspace but flew 90° of the group? If they couldn't see you on radar wouldn't that set you up for a better 2 missile salvo and positioning for last F15? Curious as to why you defend when they can't see you?
By flying 90 degrees off the group he would no longer be able to illuminate the targets with radar, and thereby much reducing the probability of hitting with his missiles. Instead of cranking and reducing altitude, stealth might enable him to continue on high. As for not defending at all, flying straight ahead would probably have put him within visual range of the eagles which would not be desirable even if the initial four missiles hit. Even irl outside of the known dcs engagement and detection ranges, I would assume that reducing the closure rate after launching upon hostiles would be a very desirable procedure even with stealth aircraft, as stealth afford superior standoff capabilities which would be reduced by closing in.
Why defined at all after the 4 missile initial salvo? they didn't spot him on launch and were defending? would have been a quicker more merciful end for them vs. making them stress for an additional few minutes. Why the cruelty?
agree. i'd like to see this exact scenario, but keep pushing forward after the intial salvo, stay high and fast presenting your lowest RCS profile, keep the bandits busy with slammers, keep pushing launch your last 2 fox3s, keep pushing until you're in fox2 range and finish off #7 in less time. RTB in time for a latte.
So, do you think that your odds of survival would've dropped drastically had there been just one more eagle? (assuming it was flown by an experienced pilot, of course)
No, an F22 with just its machine gun annihilates the F15E due to its absurd flight model. Honestly if it wasn’t for the circumstance that lead him to missing that shot it would have been just as easy. Honestly, if he timed all his shots well, he could kill 9 F15Es without much trouble. The 22 in DCS is really that good.
I worked F-15's off and on for 24 yrs starting in the late 70's. My last Fighter was the F-22 before I retired. BUT I loved the 15! (Also got to fly in one for an incentive ride back around 1982)
Not really that crazy. There is literally no competition. All american pilots are extremely trained and planes are always kept under the best service and always upgraded and all that makes extremely big difference. In other poor countries the flight hours of pilots are REALLY low. Its mostly theory training and that is not enough against most trained crews. Not to mention that everytime USA was attacking someone they had support of AVAX, satelites and other equipment that improve capabilities by a big margin. Other countries that were attacked by USA don't have that, like not even close to it so its not really surprising. Its basically the same as when Nazi Germany attacked Poland in WW2. The difference in military is huge. Now if other countries had same military budget and training, it would be actually interesting to see.
Agreed. USAF, USN, USMC, and most US allies are or will be flying them soon. Lets see its capabilities in BVR against both 4th gen and 5th gen adversaries.

There is no question that the Pilot has a ton of influence on who will and won't survive any air2air action ... "IF" the hardware is somewhat on a level field. This Sim just illustrated just how much tech/hardware can influence that field. The Eagle dominated for decades batting 1.000 ...give the other side a bit of time and resource and the field can level quickly. My point being ... don't give sides B, C & D the time and opportunity to level!!! Cheers .... another fun and informative video. Cheers!!
F-35s have a wider variety of uses compared to the F-22. The F-22 is the best at what it does, but the F-35 is better at other things, kind of the purpose of a joint strike fighter; a master of none.
@@hotdogy12345 Very true, the only problem is for master of none to be acceptable it must be a jack of all trades. I don't know it is well suited to many of the roles it's designated for. As an example I don't see it being a great ground attack aircraft. I would guess air superiority may be debatable between the F-35 and F-22 but I think the 22 likely has the real advantage there. Harrier replacement...you go F-35! :-) These are just ramblings of a lay person, however.
@@itildude hey I'm not an expert on the F-35 at all either, just saying it does it's job good enough. It's not meant to be a replacement for the F-22 or the A-10 especially. I think it's just there to fill the gap of whatever else is needed by the Navy, Air Force, or the Marines
Su57, provided the Russians have ground or AWACS tech that could spot the F22, which might be the case. The point being that the Su57 was designed to fight near A2AD Russian areas.
From what I've seen of the YA-9, it would basically be a Su-25. As for the YF-23, per Northrop it was faster and stealthier than the F-22 but the F-22 was the better dogfighter.
Yeah no dog fights real one f22 vs 2 su 57 in a who finds who first. Think the su57 would need 2 of them due to f22 being so deadly and undetectable. Only problem is he’s got to get one killed before the merge
Real world? Su-57 wouldn't even be there. There are, what, 2 prototypes? The thing is never going to be deployed, and it's doubtful that outside supermaneuverability it has anything that's even close to matching any of the F-22's capabilities.
Distance has a big part in the probability of kill… lower the distance, the bigger the signature of the aircraft that the missiles radar sees, essentially impossible to trick an AMRAAM to follow chaff, the Russian missiles are much more prone to chaff/jamming, unless they are the electro optical missiles.
To notch a missile, you need to know the the line the missile is on from the shooter to the shoote. If you can't see where the shot came from, you can't notch it.
Amraams are very difficult to notch especially if you’re really high and the PK was high because they missiles were fired at like 40k+ at Mach 1.2+ from like 27miles. That almost 100% guarantees a hit.
Well, according to the USAF during training one single F22 shot down 4 F15C, so this is not surprising at all. I don’t know capable the other so called “gen 5” are but the F22 is one scary jet, and to think the F23 was more in deadly in BVR engagement.
Pretty sure if I was in a flight of 7 and 6 of them caught a stick from nowhere I'd be hitting the burner, hitting the deck and getting the hell out of dodge.
If this a an accurate representation of the Raptor, I don't know how anyone could realistically have a single chance in Hell of beating the thing. SU57 and J20 be damned. Not gonna happen. BTW, if I had been that Eagle driver, I would have sent at least 5 AMRAAMS after the F22. (how many were on the Eagles?)
Yeah, but AMRAAMs need radar lock... The F-15s need to be really close to the Raptor if they want to lock it and even then, AMRAAM is for medium range... You can't really use them effectively against the F-22...
"It wasn't even that hard." Okay, so based on this simulation and this anecdotal experience you've had vs. multiples, could you elaborate a similar simulation vs SU-27s, F-16s and Mig-29s? Similar or worse for each? My estimate would be 9x SU-27s, 11x F-16s and 357x Mig-29s. Sound about right? 😝
These matchups are hard to properly gauge, as the particulars of radar performance and RCS profiles are some of the most closely guarded secrets of these airframes. For what it's worth, in a BVR fight the EX has a vastly superior radar suite than anything else you mentioned. It would only get worse for everyone else.
Within DCS, results would most likely extremely similar, albeit that the inclusion of data link for the Viper and flankers might give them a slightly better chance due to the increase in situational awareness - though all that is for naught if you're being shit out of the sky before ever detecting the raptor on radar first.
@@tatumergo3931 Lol no doubt the F-22 would remain victorious. I just think it'd be interesting to see a fight where different jets use each of their advantages together
I grew up in the 80s making models of F-15s when they where the undisputed air superiority fighter. The F-22 is scary, I pity the fool who picks a fight with one.
1. What determines if you leave a con? And as you are invisible to radar isn't it better to fly in a way that you never do? 2. How did you avoid his Amram? 3. When jets are hit by an Amram does the explosive impact force kill the pilot or are they able to eject? 4. Does a jet's systems know when impact from a misile is unavoidable and can they auto eject the pilot at this point?
And somehow fans will say the new su57 can't do this ... If you see the enemy first and shoot the new missiles... it's 90% over F22 looks nice but I have to give it to the old gen - f14 15 and 16 As well as the mig 29 and the su27 are simply gorgeous

Great video! Sharing this with my dad. We went to 60th anniversary Air Force air show at Nellis and met an Aggressor pilot who said the same... that they go up 8x F-15 v 2x F-22 and it isn't even a contest 😵

The donkey plane was very good! I think you should do it vs the F-22.
I would love to see these fights! Thanks!

And, or do the F-16 vs I-16.
By the time the russians have two squadrons, the US will have 10 of the sixth generation.

Please this!!!
The last guy, as he ejects, sees who shot them down.
Pilot: Hey, thats an F-22. He's on our side. Isnt he? WTF!
This just shows the immense power of stealth. It also shows the triad of combat. If you can’t see, you can’t fight. If you can’t breathe you can’t fight. If you can’t stand, you can’t fight.

Yeah! No mercy! Cobra Ki Kobra ki
There's an Israeli F15 that was shot by a Syrian MiG21 MF lol
The F-15 is such an iconic airplane. It's painful to watch them be so outmatched. Just goes to show the sheer dominance of the F22. God help anyone who has to be in that position.

In this situation I'd likely have fled, tried to get as much speed on the f22 as humanly possible and bolt- not try to search and fight.
Exactly F15 does Mach 2.5 V F22 Mach'2.2
@@theelf152 it's not a guarantee but by God it is more in favor of the f15 to gain altitude and speed then the f22 lol
The F-15’s the father of the F-22. Every generation gets better.
I am such an F-22 fanboy. This video was dope. 4:13 in seeing the sky raining fire was great. Well done and great video.
I'd like to see a ground strike mission with the F-15EX with support from the F-22.
There was a saying in China back when F-22 came out: 7 J-7 (Mig 21) for 1 F-22. That saying aged like milk
The military did this several years ago. It was five F-15s against one F-22. The F-22 killed them all before the F-15s could even pick it up on radar.
It was absurdly advantageous for the F22. Nice.
Imagine if a raptor driver made ace in like 1 minute by yeeting 5 AMRAAMs all at once and basically instantly splashing 5 enemy fighters.
It'd mean something different nowadays when you can get a bunch of BVR kills in a single fight whereas back in the day, becoming an ace meant like surviving and winning multiple dogfights lol
@@Kerjunnnn now days it's probably rarer to even engage in air-to-air combat than it was to have aces in WW2.
What would happen if upon initial engagement, you did not desend into contrail airspace but flew 90° of the group? If they couldn't see you on radar wouldn't that set you up for a better 2 missile salvo and positioning for last F15? Curious as to why you defend when they can't see you?
exactly there was no point to even defend or even crank in this case
Why to defend? Guess he got used to it 😅
By flying 90 degrees off the group he would no longer be able to illuminate the targets with radar, and thereby much reducing the probability of hitting with his missiles.
I gre up with the F-14. Old school. Tracked an entire squadron. 24 targets at 24 miles. Fire and forget but that F-22 is an amazing machine

It's crazy to think the f15 has been around 40plus years without a loss.
@@vasilije94 The whole US military strategy is to ensure no other country on the planet can compete. Thats why we spend B I L L I O N S on military.

To be fair, the US isn’t the only operator of the F-15. Israel and Saudi Arabia have seen some action with them as well.
There is evidence to show that one was 'destroyed' by a maneuver kill in Iraq and that the US government covered it up.
With any luck they'll retire that way.
When its the F-22... The title should have been "F-22 Raptor goes seal clubbing".
Honestly I think it’s time we finally did a BVR fight between an F-22 and an F-35. Also would love see more F-35 videos involving BVR

I think this channel has the highest quality DCS content around
There is no question that the Pilot has a ton of influence on who will and won't survive any air2air action ... "IF" the hardware is somewhat on a level field.
This Sim just illustrated just how much tech/hardware can influence that field. The Eagle dominated for decades batting 1.000 ...give the other side a bit of time and resource and the field can level quickly. My point being ... don't give sides B, C & D the time and opportunity to level!!!
Cheers .... another fun and informative video. Cheers!!
I've said for a long time we should be building a ton of F-22s instead of the singular focus on the F-35.
Wow that was awesome! Great video!
The F-22 really needs a challenger to compete with or something similar to dominate the air, but the F-15 was close enough. GG

Need to see 1 F 22 vs 45 North Korean Mig 29's next, after all 2 eagles are superior to 10 NK Mig 29's, so if the F-22 beats 7 eagles...
Not to mention that after they FENCE-in, Eagles like to form up in an "Eagle Wall"
I wonder how well the YF-23 would perform against the F-22.
Or the A-10 vs what was meant to be the A-9 but never was so YA-9
From what I've seen of the YA-9, it would basically be a Su-25. As for the YF-23, per Northrop it was faster and stealthier than the F-22 but the F-22 was the better dogfighter.
Each adversary of the US needs to see this...

I think a few vids like these were made already on this channel.
Yeah no dog fights real one f22 vs 2 su 57 in a who finds who first. Think the su57 would need 2 of them due to f22 being so deadly and undetectable. Only problem is he’s got to get one killed before the merge
@Leon Guerero 😂😂😂😂😂
Real world? Su-57 wouldn't even be there. There are, what, 2 prototypes? The thing is never going to be deployed, and it's doubtful that outside supermaneuverability it has anything that's even close to matching any of the F-22's capabilities.
@3:12 there is an epic shot for wallpaper F-22 4x AMRAAM
Superb bro....thanks for sharing
I talked to some Navy guys too and the F-22 takes out all f-18 squadrons they ever come across
Basic Question: IF "notching" is so effective, how did these AMRAAMS have such a high probability of kills??
In 1980's notching wasn't very effective Vs F-15C it wouldn't be vs 2000's F-22.
Pretty hard to notch an AMRAAM from what I know
Distance has a big part in the probability of kill… lower the distance, the bigger the signature of the aircraft that the missiles radar sees, essentially impossible to trick an AMRAAM to follow chaff, the Russian missiles are much more prone to chaff/jamming, unless they are the electro optical missiles.
A King with no enemy
May long he reign
Love seeing the F-22 carnage.

I have friends that talked to F-15 pilots that faced the F-22. They said it wasn't even fair.
Excuse the stupid question, but which map are you playing this on? Great Video!
I remember a story from the wargames in Alaska when the F-22 was very new, the first time the 15's saw the F-22 was when it formed up on there wing
Well, according to the USAF during training one single F22 shot down 4 F15C, so this is not surprising at all. I don’t know capable the other so called “gen 5” are but the F22 is one scary jet, and to think the F23 was more in deadly in BVR engagement.
Sadly, she didn't win the competition
Pretty sure if I was in a flight of 7 and 6 of them caught a stick from nowhere I'd be hitting the burner, hitting the deck and getting the hell out of dodge.
It's kinda a shame the f22 won't see any air to air combat, I don't think there's a fighter any pilot wouldn't feel safer in
You better hope it won’t

1 was watching the 7v1 Korean Mig 29 V F-15 video last night thinking you needed to do this again. Thanks!
It looks like 12 amraams on each eagle from the shot at 4:28
F-22 might as well be a 1-man army, lol. Great video!
You should have formed up with the last one, it worked on you once 😂😂👍 Nice video thanks for the up load

THE GOAT DOES IT AGAIN great vid as always
Made that look really easy.
Now you know why Maverick was so nervous about those 5th generation fighters. Tomcat would have no chance against the F22, or the Felon.
