Midway stairs the inset arch would look nice with a oversized wreath in a organic greenery you can change with the four seasons or special occasions also. The shape of wreath your choice or a swag even. OR maybe a oversized repurposed piece of art you create from something interesting to a conversation piece?

I think the niche, on the landing, going up the stairs, would look nice with a piece of artwork and a sunken light shining down on it. Beautiful home! So happy for you!

So happy for you, Natalee! One suggestion for those wonderful big closets: the best thing I ever did was to remove my “contractor grade” wire shelves and install custom wood shelves. So much sturdier!
Good advice. I had so many clothes one long expanse of wire rack fell down.
This is an incredible house! In the Netherlands, where I live, this is almost a castle, that only the richest can afford, but in America everything is bigger! Love the house, the details, the high ceilings, the view, the gigantic rooms! Enjoy restyling it, I look forward to your video’s!
Nobody I know in America lives like this, the people I know on minimum wage in Kansas certainly don't & even those who thought they were doing 'rather well' by earning $10 per hour don't either. Having lived long-term in both Australia & in the UK & visited friends in the USA, I can tell you that ordinary people's homes in the UK are smaller than Australia. Due to the council tax, inheritance tax & population density 2BR homes with limited social space are more popular in the UK, as opposed to 3BR in Australia with extensive social spaces. It's not uncommon in the UK for bedrooms to have just enough room for a bed, there can even be a 3rd bedroom where a double bed wouldn't fit into the room. Large space in houses in the UK means wealth or enormous debt lol. Like the USA, there is more open land & a less densely populated country here in Australia so logically there will be larger homes. However, our eastern states are now finding that young people can no longer aspire to be home owners, as what was once considered ordinary real estate is now priced beyond the reach of ordinary working people. When I built my 3BR place 20yrs ago, salesmen pushed me to add an upper storey or extra bedrooms. I said "no, you don't have to pay for it or clean it!" My sweet little home would fit easily in that foyer, wrapped in a 23ft curtain bow LMAO.
This is a huge place, I don't care where you're from. It's absolutely awesome! I love it!

It really is HUGE. Remember, American homes are built with timber, which makes them a lot more affordable. My 2600 square foot home was built in 2000, in a nice area with almost an acre of land purchased by me in 2021 for $230k, which would be around 214kЄ
It's still huge in America!! I'd call it a mini mansion at minimum. It's gorgeous!

First of all, congratulations! It is a beautiful house! The alcove on the staircase deserves a classical sculpture, a statue or a bust, since you want to do wall molding. I am waiting for the changes you are going to make.

I may be old fashioned but in my opinion there is nothing prettier than a Black and White House! No red doors just a black door White House black trim. Any style of Home looks fantastic in my opinion when it is black and white❤ very happy for you... your kitchen looks just like mine. I am in a two-bedroom condo! I must say though, my kitchen is really quite big and the ceilings are tall and I couldn't be happier here now. I downsized when I turned about 55 and thank goodness as I no longer have to worry about yard care and exterior care. I used to love that but my health has declined unfortunately. I so enjoy your Channel
I'm looking forward to your ideas... this condo is also painted that exact color inside. When I went to touch up the paint the same thing happened ! They told me at Home Depot that the builders have a different grade of paint even though I purchased the exact same color and shein . Despise this color but I guess it matches the granite plus I have that identical tile in my bathroom . I wonder if they were built around the same year ? I built my last home and I loved it but it was just too much home in my dreams of meeting Mr Wonderful never came to fruition after 12 years there . This location is much better for me and it looks like you and your husband are very excited about your location on the golf course. I would imagine there is a swimming facility nearby . You could cover that stairwell niche with a large piece of art that's hinged on one side and use it to hide things. Or put in a light and one glass shelf and rotate photos/art pieces throughout the year. Whatever you decide, it will be fabulous!

Natalie it’s beautiful!! Congratulations! You had mentioned wanting ideas for the nook. We had some in the house we sold. You could paint the wall inside the nook a darker color than what is on the wall. So like the darkest color that goes with the color on your walls. It makes the nook stand out as an architectural feature. Then you could add an artistic piece to bring attention to it. Ours had accent lights. It added depth to the walls that had high ceilings. I’ve been watching you for a few years now. Love your content and I’m so excited to see what you do with your new home! So happy for you!!😊❤
For the niche on stair way, put wooden/glass shelves with mirrors on the back

Hi first you need to know I’ve followed you for ever and a day! I love everything you do! Omg! When I saw your new house I literally cried!!! I was so very happy for you and can’t wait to see everything you do there! I am a retired home designer and miss the work so much that I am constantly changing and rearranging rooms in my home. The one thing I wish I had was walk in closets. This 4 bedroom house only has small basic closets!😢 my husband and I never see eye to eye on projects and he works a lot so him being helpful is just not gonna happen. I now have moved into my Daughters room and it also is my craft/sewing room. Unfortunately all the projects I’ve wanted to do I can’t physically do because of several car accidents that left me with spinal problems and a lot of pain daily! So I watch you and dream!!! Sometimes I try to do some things and push myself a bit too far and end up non-mobile for days!
Anyway, I’m super happy for you and looking forward to seeing you design each area!!! Ps. You are the reason I bought a miter saw! lol take care!

Don’t get rid of the little nook halfway up the stairs. If you want to cover it with a large art canvas for some variation, that would work. I would def use it. Maybe shelves with family portraits or some greenery, floral arrangement, mirror to add depth, maybe some black scrollwork to look like “Shutters”. The possibilities are endless and your brain will go nuts with the different options!

Beautiful. Possible idea is leave microwave and if you can replace flattop w complete stove/oven. Then you have your 2 ovens. I miss my my last home in regards to my kitchen.

For the alcove, or niche, don't fill it in! That architectural feature adds character. I think an arched framed mirror with one of your beautiful flower arrangements would be beautiful there.

Congratulations! It’s a beautiful house! My suggestion for the exterior color is a medium grey, similar to the color of the stone at the base of the pillars. If you keep the pillars white, I think they will pop against the grey.
Would you consider replacing the bathtub in the boys’ bathroom with a walk-in shower? I think they might enjoy that, and there is always the tub down the hall if they need to soak.

I agree about the exterior being gray to match the tile work. I'd go w/a steel gray, which really pops against white trim. It's also such a nice background for bright spring flowers of any color:) We're painting our house in the mtns in that color, & will probably go w/a shiny black front door.
The niche, I think would look nice built like a faux window, frosted glass, back lighting, trimmed out with the black metal compatible with the railing. It will work nicely for low lighting in the evening.Thank you for the tour!

Get a Select Comfort Mattress, you each can select your own hardness, I had one because my husband and I were totally opposite in our comfort of a mattress.

One of my sisters lives above Hole 9 on a Golf Course in Georgia and there are restrictions on what they can have, decoration, etc. Your new house is beautiful and will become even more so with your Magic Touch!❤😊

Congratulations! Such beautiful ideas to make it your own. A tall floral arrangement would look good on the stair landing wall or artwork with candle sticks on the shelf. I would definitely do an off white or light grey on the exterior. Can’t wait to see what you do with everything.
