Elliot, I love the way you’re so concise yet descriptive whilst showing us around these houses. It really puts me in the mood to get more organised and to appreciate the smaller things in life.
What a lovely house. I think it would be perfect if it had a full length hallway. I'm also loving what Maureen gets up to xx
We had a house with that hall/straight into stairs layout. It's only when you live in it you realise that everyone trails through the lounge to get to the kitchen constantly. If you've got kids it's constant
You guys have my heart, the way you look for pet food storage in the kitchens, the amount of detail you go into for real life living is unmatched to anyone else I've found on UA-cam. I think the beds can sometime look small because of the way they put so many cushions on the bed, on that bed there was 3 cushions lined up as well as two big pillows, which I think makes it look shorter.
I wasn’t sure what to expect with the tiny entryway at the bottom of the stairs but that turned out to be, yes, a very surprising layout. In a good way. The plum paint in the master ensuite is gorgeous! I’m curious that homes with an attached garage don’t have an inside entry door as standard. If they switched the layout of the utility room a door would fit. I wonder if these are upgrade options or if it’s a permit issue. Thanks, as always, from a fellow Slytherin! 💚🇨🇦
You two are like two peas in a pod. So we'll suited for each other. You make me smile. Yes we have all lived with a Maureen. Managed to escape ours as we now face the community memorial gardens. Nobody keeping tabs on us anymore.

Feel like Barratt are desperately trying to pull themselves into the 2020’s but haven’t quite made it yet. Living space in particular very small. Loved the video though 😍

Agreed, dislike the lounge big time. Barratts state the lounge is 4903mm x 4128mm (16'1" x 13'6") . This size includes the bay and the small unusable space behind the under stairs cupboard and door to the kitchen. The real usable size is more like 4m x 3.2m. The lounge becomes a hallway for those upstairs that want to use the kitchen. With regard to the suggestion of putting a coat rack in the hall. I would knock through into the garage and make that a lounge. A buy to let landlord would turn the garage into a down stair bedroom perhaps with ensuite shower and let it out for £150 a week.

I’m sure Matt can attest to this being so tall, but my husband who’s 6ft 2 said those mirrors above the toilet are weird for people who pee standing up as you can see yourself. We took our mirror like that down and moved it to a dark hallway.

It’s much nicer than the diamond cut out. The Hudson by Bellway is quite a nice house but has those very dated doors from the 70s/80s with the little diamond.
I’m curious if it’s not possible in UK homes to have a microwave over the stove/hob. Microwaves take up such a lot of counter space, it’s usually a good idea to build in a microwave in the otherwise wasted space above the stove/hob (with an extractor built in). Instead there is just a big extractor fan wasting a lot of real estate in the kitchen.
We could do that but tend not to. Personally, I'm only 5 feet tall so no good for me and secondly it creates a danger when lifting hot foods and liquids down
@@andreaward6478 never had an issue taking anything out of the microwave. They aren’t that high.
They've compromised hallway space for the room sizes. It's a good design overall. Still hate that modern houses are built to be overlooked be multiple houses. Why do new estates have to meander rather be in straight lines?

Show homes are always built to a higher standard than the homes released to joe public. I know I have worked on many show homes. A good trick they use is lots of mirrors to make the house look bigger than a shoe box. Just saying😇

All very nice but why not show the shoddy built houses? Are they sure the will be the free holders? Look further across the internet to see the REAL state of new builds. It could be you worst nightmare. Believe me when I say take great care or as the saying goes BUYER BEWARE!! p.s. check the size of the furniture!
