Yep, I bought this one years back but I found mixing on the tiny single lid was a miserable way to paint. Even a second leaf on the other side would make all the difference. I find the W&N pocket field box a much better option. A bit bigger, but a lot more pleasure to use.
@@craftyartcorner3656 the W&N is definitely not discontinued. I have two WN field boxes, the professional and the Cotman, one of which I bought just a few weeks ago. I also have this Schmincke, but I think I was luckier as my water pot fits perfectly.
Did you contact them cos the price they charge for this it should be top end quality!!!!! I could here the dissapointment in your voice and I would have felt the same
@Sue Allen , welcome to the channel. Yes I contacted them and was offered either return it and wait for refund which could take weeks ( have to wait for them to receive it ) or 20 % refund which was best they said they could do if I rather keep palette - I was not keen on returning it . Yes you are right I was so disappointed as much as I was excited waiting for this palette 🎨 Thanks for your your lovely supportive comment ❤️
I agree that this palette is not in the best shape and extremely over priced for the shape they are in; however, schmincke is known to have horrible palettes. All their palettes are horrible. Everyone knows this except for youtubers. Maybe they do know this and simply don't care to be honest because they don't get paid for being honest. They get paid to get you to buy crap. They get paid to work the mere exposure effect. If they give honest reviews they do not continue to get free crap. If they had to actually pay for the products they reviewed on UA-cam they wouldn't be on UA-cam. I agree with you. Schmincke is shit. Especially when it comes to palettes. All they're palettes have rough, sharp edges. None of them are rolled, sanded. None have real enamel, rust prevention paint like rustoleum. Their paints need to be applied in layers or glazes. Which is fine when you know that. Otherwise they pale in comparison to say daniel smith, kokuyo or art whale. I myself love schmincke paints, but only Nevada I enjoy layering. But I certainly wouldn't encourage anyone to buy them. Especially beginners.
