You did a great job on this video. I really enjoyed it and thank you so much for telling people to stay not only out of the ice caves, but away from them. A number of people have lost their lives in there over the years and the last one as of right now was a young girl that was outside the cave when a giant boulder rolled down or broke off and she didn't have time to get out of the way. Regardless of all the warnings, I have seen people enter the caves and they are so fortunate to still be alive. Thanks again.
We used to live in WA, this was one of our favorite hikes. the scenery is so breathtaking!! We went closer than you did but not in the cave, when you get done closer to the cave the ground trembles from the waterfall behind the glacier. I looked into the cave from a short distance away and it looked beautiful inside. There were people who went in when we were there, too dangerous! It is well worth the hike!!
I went in that cave once because another guy went in and didn’t come out , I went all the way back to the base of the cliff where the waterfall comes thru, his iPhone light went out because his phone got too wet and there is a river that was deep inside and I had to go thru it and complete darkness as the cave actually meandered to block any light. And then when you make it far enough back then you see the light coming thru the waterfall, the guy freaked out and didn’t move when his light went out. We both made it thru the loud pitch dark section and back out to safety, didn’t worry about safety until I was in the dark and in the river.
Beautiful place, great hike. We were there before the bridge washed out. The cave is not actually part of a glacier. One of my trail guides explains it: How are the Big Four ice caves formed? Formed by melting snow, waterfalls from the above cliff and wind, they are really snow caves under an avalanche chute. Elsewhere it points out the difference between glacier caves and snow/ice caves. Either way, so beautiful. We were there on a warmish day and standing 100 yards away in front of it we could feel the cool, refreshing air rushing out of the cave. We went close to the opening but kept a safe distance.

It is pretty fun, and very tempting to explore inside, I get that.
